I loved this magical journey through Christmas past. The prologue hauled me in and from that moment I couldn’t put it down. Although I liked both Elle and Ben and the way they fit into Estelle’s story but my real focus was Estelle, Angela and Allie. A perfect read for the modern reader who loves A Christmas Carol. My favourite Ali McNamara by far.

Sitting by the Thames, wondering how her life has fallen apart so spectacularly Elle is surprised when she spots an advert for a job that is perfect for her, except, the ad states that the applicant must love Christmas. Deciding she can overcome this one thing Elle travels to Mistletoe Square where she meets Estelle and Angela, the elderly homeowner and her housekeeper. Estelle is the last of her family and wants someone to write a book about the history of her family and the house. As Estelle takes Elle on a tour through history, Elle begins to see her past and her future more clearly.
This magical story will take you on a journey through Christmases past, it’s lovely, warm and the perfect book to get you in the Christmas spirit.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in return for an honest review.
This was a different kind of story with a magic element which required the suspension of disbelief to follow. As I love ‘A Christmas Carol’, I found it easy to suspend disbelief and just go along for the ride. Like all good fairy stories, it had a happy ending and an epilogue which showed our h/H enjoying life five years after the end of the book.
It’s well written and I read it in one sitting the day I downloaded it because I wanted to know where it was going with it’s strange ‘time-travelling’ journey through the history of the house and the characters of its owners Angela no Estella.
The h/H Elle and Ben we’re actually subsidiary characters in the story because the historical episodes wer more interesting than the present day and it was Estella and Angela who I wanted to know more about. I loved the way Elle and Ben discovered the truth about their parents
I enjoyed this book a lot and recommend it as a great Christmas story - even though there’s lots of sadness, angst and disappointment in it.

Elle is reeling from her disastrous breakup, she finds herself alone, jobless and homeless in one fell swoop and just before Christmas. As she sits by the bridge contemplating her future she finds hope in a job advert which has the potential to solve all her problems. She travels to Mistletoe Square where she she gets the opportunity to get glimpses into the past that help her illuminate her future. A magical story by Ali McNamara which is intriguing and interesting.

It was a fast read for me and a nice Christmas book but I’ve come to the realisation that seasonal books aren’t for me anymore.

Loved this book would give it 10 stars if I could. Magical, with such brilliant characters they draw you in. Loved the history part of the house. Just brilliant. Thank you netgalley for the advance copy

This was a genuinely magical read about Elle, a writer who is extremely down on her luck until fate steps in and she finds herself with both a new job and live accommodation with a couple of older ladies, one of whom wants her to write a history of her home. Told from Elle’s perspective we discover how the history of the house is brought to life in a fantastical way which tells of some fabulous moments in history all based around the seasonal period. There is more to the stories than meets the eye but it all ties together fantastically well. This is warm, uplifting and incredibly seasonal with wonderful characters and a fabulous location.

Wow this was not what I expected . Took a little while to grab me then I could not put it down. It was a magical read and so clever how it all tied in. How the author described the house through the ages was really good. A lot of research was done . It is a perfect Christmas book. We do judge our parents. You have to read it. A beautiful love story as well.

Wow!!!!
What a fantastic read, loved the magic of Christmas this book evoked.
Estelle and Angela were such brilliant characters and of course Elle and Ben. Well written with the stories which later transpires brings Christmas house and Mistletoe Square into the lives of our two unsuspecting lonely people at Christmas time.
Loved this book and was sad when it finished.
Great curl up and lose yourself book which I couldn’t put down.
Ali McNamara at her best

When i began reading this book I was slightly confused and wasn’t sure what to expect (no spoilers) but once I was a few chapters in I absolutely loved it. The characters were brilliant especially Estelle and Angela and the whole story just fitted together perfectly.
I loved the stories Estelle and Angela shared and all the little details and characters, I really felt I was there with them and was totally absorbed in the story.
A Magical Christmas novel in a fantastic romantic setting full of intrigue and mystery.
Thanks to Netgalley, Little Brown Book group UK and Ali McNamara for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review

It Always Snows on Mistletoe Square - Ali McNamara
A really enjoyable festive read from Ali McNamara, I raced through this book and finished it in 2 days. The characters were wonderful and the setting is just dreamy. I mainly enjoyed the history aspect of the book and thought this made it stand out from other Christmas style books I have read. I will definitely be re-reading this a little closer to the festive period and recommending to others.
Thanks so much Netgalley Little Brown Book Group UK and Sphere for the e-arc in return for my honest thoughts and opinions.

I also love Ali McNamaras beautiful books. I love the Christmas theme and how it's about a writer who needs a little bit of joy in her life. I'm sure many could relate and I love how it's also going to have a bit of mystery as well uncovering a family's history. I will be sharing more thougts and a full review soon. I am so appreciative and excited to acquire this and share it with our readers.
