I received an audiobook version of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This book reminded me of my love for YA horror. It reminded me of how I felt reading books like I Know What You did Last Summer as a teenager, and as an older millennial I'm all about the nostalgia. I found Bex to be a really interesting character, and a bit relatable as I also often felt more interested in books than people in high school. As far as I know, I'm not autistic though (although being an older millennial the possibility of me simply not being diagnosed is not insignificant).

This story kept me guessing until the bitter end. Every time I thought I had figured things out, I was simply wrong. But I'm not the only one who fell for the misdirects.

The narration had a kind of monotone quality to it for the narrative parts of the story. But the different characters voices were distinct and nuanced.

Overall I give Who Haunts You 4.7832 out of 5 stars.

OMG!!! This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

I highly enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. Kept me listening.

I really enjoyed the blend of supernatural fiction and thriller in this book. The high school setting was really fun. This book is a great YA choice for high schoolers looking to read more of the thriller genre.

I know this is very short – under 200 pages. But so many short books manage to be around that length and it works. This wasn’t the case here. Most of the time it felt like the story was meant to be a full story. Like it was leading up to be a full horror story – 300 or more pages. Nearer to the end it seemed to remember it was actually meant to be a short book and moved the timeline up. That meant the ending’s pace didn’t match up with the rest of the book’s and that made for an unhappy reader. I’ve begun to realise I don’t like mismatched pacing in books.

I don’t really have much to say about the main character. She wasn’t really memorable? I liked that she was autistic (the author is too) but other than that I don’t really remember much of her. None of this book really stood out at all to me. I think I liked a bit of the mystery but obviously, not enough I would remember more.

I didn't have any expectations, but I was utterly blown away by this YA supernatural and psychological thriller/horror novel. It's the perfect book to kick off the spooky season! There's just something about the combination of the supernatural elements with the psychological aspects that makes it so captivating.

One of the things that struck me was how the story explored the fear of the supernatural and the psychological effects of feeling like no one believes you. It's terrifying to think about the impact that would have on someone's psyche, regardless of whether the events are supernatural. The fear, the helplessness, the frustration—it's all too easy to imagine how those emotions would consume a person. It's something that everyone can relate to on a primal level, and that's what makes it so chilling.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. It's a fun and fast paced read. I loved the characters and their development. I'd highly recommend this book for teens wanting to explore the thriller genre.

I was actually really pleasantly surprised about how much I enjoyed this book. Bex is so unhinged and relatable and I love her. It is so refreshing to read a YA book and see a real young adult as a MC. She's flawed and messy and curious in all the wrong ways but for all the right reasons, what is more human than that? The way the supernatural meets mental health is so scarily intriguing and I was on my toes the entire second half of this book. it was awesome.

From the very start I was totally gripped. It was spooky and I loved the pace of the book. It was twisty and contained some really clever ways to make you question what's real life and what's super natural!

I loved the development of our main character and the representation of a neuro-divergent protagonist

The ending was excellent and I loved that it was left open!!

I thought this was a really great young adult horror novel! I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a fantastic job and really emphasized the creep factor. I also appreciated how well the autism representation was handled!

I always wonder with these YA books....WHERE ARE THE PARENTS?! This was a great book and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I can not sing praises high enough for an author that has a main character that is neuro-divergent! I LOVED the realistic look into what her life and struggles are!
The humor and suspicion she has with how her classmates keep dying felt exactly like how I would have handled it.
The characters are relatable and fun and only at the very end do you finally see what is happening.
I highly recommend!

Interesting book. I enjoyed the character development. Bex was a quirky and fun character. I enjoyed the narrator and felt the narrator really gave life to Bex.

This was a fairly creepy horror book for YA. it is definitely a book teens and adults can enjoy equally.

In this audio, production is key. It's not over produced. There isn't a soundtrack, no clinking dishes or murmuring of crowds. In fact, the narration is quite understated and even toned. That makes the harsh whisper of the ghost even more startling when it comes, especially when you're wearing earbuds. It's disconcertingly intimate. The plot follows a largely expected path but takes some startling turns at the end. It's a unique read that genuine benefits from the audio format.

An end that surprised me and didn't expect at all.
I highly recommend this book to all those who are searching for something different, new, and diversity.
