When Casey was 19, she accidentally stumbled upon her boyfriend’s father killing a woman. It became clear to police her was a serial killer. Soon after, her boyfriend (now ex) took his own life. In present day, she works on a night shift at a radio station when she gets a call. The caller says he has a woman and it is up to Casey to save her. Soon, she learns this mysterious caller is tied to her past.
Overall, this was a good thriller! It does take a while to get to the mysterious caller but Beevis’s writing is fast-paced, so it doesn’t feel tedious. I do think the killer was predictable, although I didn’t see the reason it coming (just the whodunit)! I also think the epilogue left it on a nice twist I didn’t see coming either. A fast-paced thriller that has some good twists and turns!
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book. All I can say is I really hope there is a sequel to this because the ending had my head exploding. I thought I had figured out who the killer was but I was wrong. I really enjoyed Casey and Finn. Very well written and know I will be checking out more books from Keri!!!
I love these serial killer romance books. Girl gets some while being stalked by a killer and the bodies are dropping.
I love the setting and the dogs too. I also love the tie in with the book I read on Friday (Daniella).
I could read a few dozen more of these.
This is a recap, our girl finds a tortured woman at her boyfriends house. As she is running his dad comes out and is found with the woman. He is convicted of kidnapping her and serial murdering a bunch of women. The boyfriend ends up stalking her and she meets a hot cop. They don't hook up though.
13 years later the boyfriend is maybe dead and our girl has bought an apartment. She has a guy breaking in there to steal panties and a stalker. Also the hot cop is the neighbor. She gets it good a bunch of times and is almost serial murdered.
Wonderful!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for access to this arc in exchange for my honest review.
I really loved the characters, well most of them, loved the plot and the suspense throughout. Even if at some times, I was a bit confused by the change of POV, specially since it's not written at the start of the chapter. That's why the epilogue threw me off completely. I really loved how it ended for Cassie though, after everything she went through, there couldn't have been a better ending. I wonder if there will be a book 2 though haha.
Twisted, sickening and very psychological gripping thriller. Hooked from the first page. Liked Casey and Finn both. Killer's point of view is disturbing to read but it perfectly makes the thriller more Shocking. The twist in the end about the identity of killer is pure Shocking. What a rollercoaster book. Highly recommended.
Whoa….what a wild ride! Thank you Boldwood Books and Netgalley for my copy of Every Little Breath by Keri Beevis. This book had me on the edge of my seat through pretty much the whole thing! I couldn’t wait to find out where this twisty road would take me. I had several guesses as to how this would play out and even slightly guessed part of it but I’m pretty sure my jaw hit the floor! This was my first read of one of Keri’s books and it definitely did not disappoint!
An absolute must read! Let's just end the revie there. It's cleverly written, the characters are well rounded and 3 dimensional. The twists never stop and the final one will have your jaw on the floor! The tension ramps up throughout and the plot doesn't go where you expect. I loved every second
I was nineteen when I discovered my boyfriend's father was a serial killer. I stumbled upon his latest victim tied up in the basement of the house he was renovating, and it was my evidence that helped convict him to a life in prison. My boyfriend never forgave me for turning against his dad and a couple of years later took his own life. That was fifteen years ago. I am now a local radio presenter, but it seems I can't escape my past. Late one night, when I'm alone, the phone rings, The caller wants me to solve a riddle and tells me a life depends on it. "Only you can save her." "If she dies it's your fault." And so the deadly game begins.
Just when I thought I had it all worked out, I was wrong. This is quite a chilling read, It's tense and kept me on the edge of my seat. There are some really good twists. I really liked how the game of cat and mouse played out. I was pulled in from the prologue. Everyone was a suspect. The ending wasn't what I was expecting at all. I could not put this book down. I read it in one sitting.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #KeriBeevis for my ARC of #EveryLittleBreath in exchange for an honest review.
This book was just ok for me. I normally love serial killer novels, but this one wasn’t for me. I despised the main characters and figured out most of the twists.
Before writing my review, I want to thank NetGalley, Keri Beevis, and Boldwood Books for gifting me the ARC of EVERY LITTLE BREATH! Reading this book was an absolute privilege. And I appreciate you trusting me with an honest review!
I have yet to be disappointed by a Keri Beevis book! And EVERY LITTLE BREATH is no exception. She is quickly and most assuredly becoming a favorite author for me. I know that once I start reading one of her thrillers, I won't want to stop, losing lots of sleep along the way.
The prologue packed quite a punch, setting the stage for a story that grabbed hold of you and wouldn't let go until the last page was turned. Speaking of the prologue, it was unique yet unsettling--the reader hears directly from the killer, and this first person dialogue works brilliantly. Being inside the mind of a killer offers a different perspective that only adds to the suspense. Couldn’t help but think if this is how it begins, I cannot wait to see how it ends. And everything in between was fabulous, intense, nail biting, edge of your seat terror. But one of the things I like so much about Keri Beevis is that she includes humor throughout the story-telling, which helps alleviate tension, making her characters appear even more human.
Our protagonist, Casey, is so incredibly likable. She's also smart and thinks before she acts. And you can't help but notice how selfless she behaves, her decisions typically putting others first. You soon learn she will put herself in danger to save those she cares for--including her sweet dog, Phoebe. How can you not love someone who loves her dog so much?
Nearing the end of the book, my heart was beating out of my chest. I was helplessly waiting for that jump scare you know is coming, but can’t prepare yourself for. Tension builds slowly until it reaches a breaking point -- then all hell breaks loose. One revelation had my jaw drop--felt I needed to reread parts of the book to find out how I missed it. Then the Epilogue happened, and just when I thought things couldn't get any twistier, they did! Bravo Keri Beevis!!
5 enthusiastic stars for EVERY LITTLE BREATH!!
this Author is one of my favorites. you know it's going to be addictive from first page and so creepy. she is the queen of creepy and twisty. Casey Fallon has had enough of her boyfriend. Gareth he possessive and controlling. She is away at Collage. And has come back to her hometown early. but when she gets to his house, she gets a shock a woman in her boyfriend's basement tied up she runs and calls the police. Gareth s dad Steve is arrested. And she saved the womans life. Gareth won't leave Casey alone. And the same police officer helps her from when she finds the women. The night after the trial Casey is in the pub with her friend with her friend and the policeman and his friends come into pub. Finn and Casey kiss when he drops. Her off but he has a girlfriend. Cassey starts to get on with her life. Finds a new apartment and does a night radio show. But someone wants revenge for her locking Steve up so addictive a must read.
Casey Fallon was an important part of capturing a serial killer Steve Nokes, who happens to be her boyfriend’s father. Years later as she works as a late-night radio host, she gets a call from someone names Steven claiming to have kidnapped a woman, and urging her to find the victim before it’s too late. Could this really be a coincidence, or does it have something to do with happened 15 years earlier?
This book was just fine for me, I was interested enough in the plot to want to continue, but I was not amazed by anything that happened. I, personally, would have preferred the novel to be a little shorter and a little less romance, as I felt that took away some of the thrilling moments, but that is purely a personal preference.
That being said, I was definitely surprised by some of the plot twists, and I did enjoy most of them.
All in all, I’d say it was a good read, and I can definitely see why a lot of people would like it. If you like a slow building thriller, you should definitely give this book as shot.
Big thanks to Netgalley, Boldwood books and the author Keri Beevis for allowing me to read an E-Arc of this novel.
Found this hard to put down. Pulls you in from the start. Very gripping.
Liked the backstory that was at the start before moving on to present day.
Full of twists and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Didn't figure out the main 'twist' but I had guessed the epilogue correctly.
Really enjoyed this one.
I know this was published a while a few years ago. But this was an ARC copy courtesy of NetGalley for the republication with a new publisher.
This book begins with a prologue from the killer with the steps to take for the capture, torture and killing of his victims. Gulp….
At 19 Casey, in the process of looking for her boyfriend Gareth, stumbles upon a battered, bloody, tortured woman tied down on a table in the basement of a house he and his father were renovating. She was still alive and when the police arrived, and more bodies were also found.
Her testimony put serial killer, Steve Noakes in prison for life. How could she ever trust anyone’s family again?
Fifteen years later, Casey lives in a new apartment, and she does some free lance work, along with being a radio station DJ on the night shift a few nights a week. Casey starts getting threats that a woman has been taken and will be killed if she doesn’t do what the caller says. The person calling is named Steve. Is someone just playing games with her or are they out for some kind of revenge from the past?
This was a tense, fast paced, page turner told in multiple views with the killer being one of them. I seriously gasped at the first twist and believe me that isn’t the only one!! I’ve read several books now by Keri Beevis and she is now a favorite for gripping, suspenseful thrillers!!
Thank you #netgalley and @boldwoodbooks for letting me review #everylittlebreath
I've just finished this book and thoroughly enjoyed it - its was packed full with so many layers.
The reveal was fantastic, not what I thought at all!
I thought Casey's character was great, although she had been witness to a horrific crime she is a fighter and
came across as such.
Such a great length for a book too, it really helped flesh out the characters and the story which I really appreciated.
I love this author and her books never fail - this is one of my favourites.
Whoa this one was so good but so dark and twisted.
The story opens from the villains POV and that was enough to capture my attention. I was invested and enthralled from then.
This book started out so strong and remained that way all throughout the story. They were multiple POVs- one being our villain who remained anonymous until the very end. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and couldn't wait to see what happened next.
I read a lot of thriller and horror and I love it when an author makes me think one thing and then it's something completely different. That happened here. That antagonist reveal was epic because I literally did not see it coming. I actually put down my Kindle and just said "WTF"
The torture scenes being depicted by our villain were not too graphic in my opinion. They were just the right amount of details to give the reader a glimpse of how truly sadistic this person was.
Another thing I really enjoyed in this was the romance- it was needed in a book about a serial killer who enjoys "hunting", torturing and slowly killing women.
Was it a little cheesy? Yes, but it really took the edge off what was otherwise a very disturbing but beautifully written book. I really enjoyed Casey's character too, she was no pushover and despite all she's been through tough and strong as hell. I live for a badass FMC.
That epilogue though!!!!!! I was not expecting that at all!!! Just when you think it's over Keri Beevis says "nope, I'm gonna leave you with this".
Overall, this was a solid 5 star read for me and I highly recommend it if you're into thrillers and enjoy reading from the villains POV. As mentioned above they are some trigger warnings such as female torture, stalking and suicide.
If you can handle that then go right ahead and give this one a read.
Special thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for my free Ecopy of this book. All opinions are 100% my own.
Firstly I would like to thank netgalley and Boldwood books, and the author Keri beevis for an early copy of her book.
I just read her book trust no one which I really enjoyed more than this read,Casey visits her boyfriend and sees a woman held hostage Casey had to leave her behind and reported it her boyfriend dad was arrested and they found more bodies the boyfriend wasnt happy and wants revenge...does he come after her?...for me it was an okay read but wanted more excitement, looking forward to reading more of her books..
This book will be reviewed on goodreads and Amazon uk.
Every Little Breath is a then and now story.
Fifteen years prior Casey helped put a notorious serial killer, Steve, in jail for the murder of five young women.
Now, a radio broadcaster, Casey starts to receive disturbing phone calls that are not prank as she first assumes.
It is up to her to figure out who the next victim may be.
Finished in two days. Absolutely brilliant. It has bestseller written all over it. What a book! Fast, edge-of-your-seat stuff. Each time I set the book down I had to remind myself to breathe.
Thanks to Boldwood Books for this arc. Kerry Beevis has become one of my favourite authors., her plots are well written, lots of twists and plenty of things i didnt see coming..When Casey Fallon sees something she should never have seen, whilst looking for her boyfriend, her life changes completely., she gives evidence against her ex boyfriend s dad steve which resulted in him being put in prison , did he actually commit the crime?
Somebody is calling into caseys late night radio show taunting her with puzzles to find the women steve has tortured.. what is the end result? Was steve the murderer or was is somebody completely different? This is definately a great read
