Final Thoughts:
Splish! Splash! Woosh! is a lively and interactive story that’s perfect for moms looking to make reading time fun and engaging. It’s a wonderful celebration of play and imagination that has quickly become a beloved part of our storytime routine!
Wonderful little children's book about the ocean and its many inhabitants. I especially love the beautiful and bright illustrations in this one! Great addition for your Littles bookshelves!
This book is not a story so much as a collection of short stanzas about the different animals that might be found on a beach. Then each stanza is ended with sound words. The book isn’t bad, but it is overly long, and a bit boring.
A cute book about sea creatures. Don't take it as the bible (there are some misconceptions printed here) but cute photos and fun rhymes.
This delightful journey takes young readers beneath the waves, introducing them to an array of marine creatures through vivid illustrations and engaging information tidbits. The book's interactive approach invites children to join in the excitement by mimicking the sound words associated with each sea creature, creating an immersive and educational experience. With its charming storytelling, vibrant visuals, and clever incorporation of sound effects, this book offers an enchanting introduction to the wonders of ocean ecosystems.
Hey there, fellow adventurers! You've got to check out Splish! Splash! Whoosh! Seriously, this book is like taking a plunge into the coolest underwater party ever! From the very first page, you'll feel like you're right there in the deep blue sea, surrounded by all these amazing creatures. And guess what? You get to make the sounds they make! Imagine reading Chomp! Chomp! Whoosh! and actually feeling like you're a part of the action. It's like you're diving with dolphins and dancing with colorful fishes.
But it's not just about the fun—it's also about learning. You'll get to know so much about the different ocean animals, like how they live, what they eat, and all those cool habits they have. The illustrations are so bright and lively, and the tidbits of information are like little nuggets of underwater wisdom.
Thank you, Netgalley and the publisher, for the opportunity to review this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This picture book is a lovely introduction to ocean life for toddlers and preschoolers. Told in rhyming text, readers meet and learn about a wide variety of sea life. I was impressed by the information in this book! Though the text is sparse, it does a great job conveying information in a developmentally appropriate way. The illustrations are vibrant and eye catching. Some of the rhymes are a bit clunky, but overall they work well. I could also see littles getting a bit bored towards the end, but the illustrations should be enough to hold their attention. This would work great for story times, and I'd recommend this to any grown up looking for a title for their sea loving littles.
I read this lovely book to my nephew and it was so much fun! The book and illustrations are so bright and fun, but what I love (and while it’s a kids book and I’m a 41 year old 😂😂) is that I really enjoyed the flow of reading this book and how it taught me some bits and pieces about some of our ocean friends! My nephew loves it when I read all dramatically, and the fantastic rhymes in this were perfect for that! He had a lot of fun making the noises each fish would make before a big whooosh!
Fab book
This is a very nicely illustrated children's book that shows what different animals live in the sea and what they do and how they look.
Splish Splash Whoosh! Ocean Life is full of information about different types of ocean life! I was not expecting so much information here, but it is presented in fun rhyme, colorful pictures, and tons of fun! There are so many different animals presented here, each with a couple of facts about them. Fantastic book!
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!
Okay, first and foremost, i did not expect this book to be compact of new knowledge, wow was j wrong? Yeah, TOTALLY WRONG! Haha. I even ended up singing some part of the story.
So, what i found lovely and interesting is how the author use simple sentences to introduce the crustaceans and other marine animals.
It started with an introduction of the animal's name, and then proceed with the explanation of their characteristics but in a subtle way, so it is not boring.
I think it would be a good learning material for early childhood education, not only the illustrations are good, but also appeals to the readers' senses. It's cute.
Thank you to NetGalley for this copy of Splish ! Splash! Whoosh! by Sonia Maria in exchange for a honest review. This is a wonderful beautifully illustrated book of many sea creatures and their purpose in the ocean.I especially loved the rhyming and use of onomatopoeia in the book.It makes the book come alive.Highly recommended reading for the preschool set.I shared with my 6 year old grandson and my preschool class.
I read this with my three year old and he really enjoyed it. The illustrations are great and you can learn a lot about the different animals in the ocean. Even I learned some things I had’t known before. This is great for a kid and teaches them without them even realizing it!
Mostly liked the rhyming scheme and illustration of this book! However, I wish there was more going on throughout the book. While this book is very informative, and a great introduction to sea life for little ones, I can see them getting a tad bored, and not engaged with this book.
