I was so excited to see that the Little People Big Dreams series would be covering Steve Irwin, and this one didn't disappoint! I really liked how this book was truly focused on Steve Irwin's career- I feel like his many accomplishments are often overshadowed by his tragic death in people's memories, but the main story of this book didn't even mention his death which I appreciated. Instead, it brought to life the conservation work he was dedicated to his entire life, and showed young readers how important this work is.
This book can be a tool to open such interesting conversations with children and inspire any young reader to research further- especially as Steve Irwin's work is still so incredibly relevant and documented by his family.

I grew up watching Steve Irwin’s ‘Crocodile Hunter’ and he was a childhood hero of mine so I knew I had to read this book when I saw it. The illustrations are amazing and it’s a fantastic way to get children into conservation and zoology. I also love the links to more information at the end so people can learn more about this great man and his work.

My kids love the Little People, Big Dreams books for the very simple and approachable way they highlight notable public figures, and Steve Irwin was awesome! The book shares details about Irwin's early life and his life's work in conservation, along with the contributions of his family. The details of his untimely death are handled respectfully, making this book appropriate for young kids of all ages. I highly recommend this book and many other from the Little People, Big Dreams series!

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley for gifting my family with an ARC to review. We loved it!

Thanks to Net Galley for providing me with this book to previews. A book from the Little People, Big Dreams series and thankfully the word “crikey” got a mention in this story about Steve Irwin. I liked that his death was mentioned only briefly in the part at the end and not through the illustrated part of the story. Glorious illustrations and a beautiful retelling of Steve’s life.

We love this series and jumped at the chance to read this instalment about Steve Irwin as he was a fascinating character who my children didn't remember. I learnt a lot about his early life that I didn't know and my David Attenborough fans were fascinating to learn about him and subsequently wanted to watch some of his TV prgrammes. There wasn't so much about his later life or his tragic and untimely death, although this felt deliberate. I thought it could have been touched upon gently but other than that, it was a thouroughly enjoyable read that re-inspired us to protect and care for the planet and it's wildlife.

The cover is absolutely wonderful, Steve himself would definitely approve. Such a sweet recap of his inspiring life, mom and kiddo approved! However, the illustrations in this book were not my favorite, while the animals looked great, they didn't do justice for Steve.

I absolutely adore this series and this was a great tribute to Steve Irwin. I grew up during the height of his popularity, and my kids love Bindi and Robert. So this is a great story for bedtime reads. The artwork is wonderful!

This was such a lovely read. I grew up watching the Crocodile Hunter and the Irwin family holds a special place in my heart. I love that this book helped me share a piece of my childhood with them. I also learned more about Steve Irwin and the wonderful things his family has done for wildlife across the globe.
The story is written in a way that the littlest readers can understand and the illustrations are so cute. A must for animal lovers and Irwin family fans everywhere!

I have just discovered a wonderful series; Little People, Big Dreams. I received my first book of the series as an ARC and I am so excited. This book was perfect for my littles. Steve Irwin was our first treasure to find and it was so much fun. We loved watching and learning from him and this was a great way to lead into the story. It is packed full of amazing and interesting facts about Irwin and his life and love for animals. It shows us how important caring for the world's animals is. The story and its illustrations were great at showing even our little one the life of Steve. We loved how the story showed us how even at an early age Steve loved and cared about animals of all kinds. This is a great book for any young child wanting to learn more. I think it is perfect for using in an early childhood classroom or elementary classroom. I loved it even as an adult. Enjoy this adventure as a family.

I love this collection and how it makes learning about historical figures so accessible. The illustrations are adorable, and I did learn some things about Steve Irwin that I didn't know prior to reading. I will always recommend this collection.

My goodness, this was one of the most heartwarming children's book I've ever read. Maybe the nostalgia for adults is a factor, but I also think it's a beautiful story for little ones to see that love for animals starts at an early age, and it's a reminder that you're never too young to help and make a difference. Additionally, the illustrations were so well done, and I think children would just love looking at all the animals and scenery.

Loved this book! As a mama and a teacher children’s books are a big part of my day. I absolutely plan to share this one with both my kids and my students. It’s a great book teaching about the great Steve Irwin.

Little People, Big Dreams is a series of biographies intended for young readers. This one focuses on Steve Irwin and focuses on how his life was about rescuing and helping animals, especially alligators and other reptiles. It brings in topics like wildlife hunting and loss of habitat. And of course mentions his wildly popular tv show that helps fund his dream zoo and wildlife refuges. His tragic early death is not part of the story. Nor does it mention his children continuing his work unless you look at the time frame at the end of the book. I like this series and remember Irwin and his show fondly. The book is colorful and easy to read. But I’m not sure how many young readers will be familiar with Steve Irwin.

As a child who grew up watching Steve Irwin, this book is great. I saw it on Netgalley and knew that I wanted to try and read it so that I could purchase it for my nieces and nephews once it is published. The vivid pictures are full of detail and fun scenes that children will love. It has that unique charm that Steve Irwin always had, and will surely draw children in and keep their attention over and over. Absolutely charming little book, and will be buying it for my loved ones upon publication.

I love all the books in this series. The illustrations are beautiful and the writing is age appropriate. These are great little snippets for teaching children about different influential figures. Steve Irwin is still widely known and this book could easily be an intro or accompaniment to a discussion, lesson or activity on animals, wildlife or even the earth. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free preview in exchange for an honest review.

Another great read from a fantastic series.
Not gonna lie - Steve Irwin's childhood sounds amazing!
Great read, and a brilliant look at his childhood and life before he became famous.
I didn't actually know he did all the rescuing of animals if I am honest, so yet again, I have been taught new things.

I read this book to my 6 year old. He is very interested in wildlife. I thought this book was very informative. I grew up watching Steve irwin on tv. Hopefully the proceeds for this book go to the wildlife refugees the the Irwin family started. And hopefully this book helps raise money for it. I wish the book was a bit longer and talked more about Steve and the wildlife her worked with. My son is excited to watch some of the Steve Irwin videos online. Thank you Netgalley for sharing this title with us.
