This is the first book from this series I have read. I loved the beautifully vibrant illustrations, as well as the real photos and timeline at the end. This book did a great job highlighting Steve Irwin’s personal life, professional life, and conservation efforts.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series is a lovely tribute to the late Steve Irwin. The writing was on a level that a child can understand. The playful illustrations were a wonderful way to depict Steve's positive spirit. I would recommend this title for elementary book reports and for families to read together.

A wonderful addition to the Little People Big Dreams series! I loved learning about Steve Irwin's life and what influenced his work with animals. Children will find it inspiring and adults will enjoy it as well.

I have loved reading all of the Little People Big Dreams books with my son and this one is no exception. The story and the pictures in each book are engaging for little ones (my son is 5) and keeps their attention and give age appropriate information. I enjoy the time lines at the end of each book going over different moments from that persons life. A wonderful mini biography.

This book has a lot more words to tell the story of the world renowned Crocodile Hunter whose legacy to the world of wildlife lives on.
The illustrations by Sonny Ross are clear, colorful, and add to the meaning of this young man's short life and his legacy.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your local public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Crikey, this one was amazing! Being a fan of the Irwin family, my kids and I just adored finding out about Little Stevie and how his life became so dedicated to preserving wildlife. What an extraordinary person with such a deep love of animals and the planet that he dedicated his whole life to helping them thrive, even ploughing his own savings into buying chunks of land to create reserves. There is even a trust to ensure that the good work continues indefinitely. The small paragraphs of text on each page are detailed enough to give lots of biography, but short enough for young readers and listeners. Each page is beautifully illustrated. #steveirwin #littlepeoplebigdreams #netgalley #mariaisabelsanchezvegara

This is a bittersweet picture book about the life of Steve Irwin. I read it on the anniversary of his passing. I feel like I knew of Steve Irwin, but I didn't know a lot about him. This picture book was a beautiful tribute to his memory. I loved the illustrations of the Irwin family and all the animals they cared for.

Highly recommend this as a nonfiction picture book!

Crikey! Another wonderful book.
'Steve Irwin' is a story the whole family will enjoy. Filled with stunning illustrations and information on Steve's younger years this book is one to add to your personal library.

After getting to read a digital preview of this book my children (8yrs and 5yrs) are begging me to buy it. Pure excitement to see this story and learn more about the Irwin family, so much so they need to hold the physical copy like yesterday.

This book has engaging illustrations which have the children pointing out the different animals and details, bringing them into the reading process. The narrative evokes questions and excitement which offer more learning opportunities.

Another wonderful book that will join many others from this series on our shelves. I can't wait for the day the rest of the Irwin family have their own Little People, Big Dreams books.

I was gifted a digital copy of 'Steve Irwin' in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Thank you to Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, NetGalley, The Irwin Family and Quarto Publishing for this opportunity.

This book provides a great introduction for children to Steve Irwin. Wonderfully illustrated, with lots of facts and child friendly information. His death was glossed over as expected, and the story felt a bit unfinished, but it is a lovely addition to the Little People Big Dreams series.

Steve Irwin, was my introduction to the Little People Big Dreams book series for children. It’s a super easy and quick read – FULL of facts (a few that I didn’t already know!) and gorgeous full color illustrations. This sweet book will be a fantastic addition to my little grandmuffin’s personal library. I was given a digital advanced readers copy of Steve Irwin by Netgalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and Frances Lincoln Children's Books. I offer this honest review for your consideration.

I love this series and think they are great short reads whilst introducing children (or adults!) to influential people. I also like the timeline at the end of the book with some extra information about the person.
From this one I found out more about the history of Steve Irwin before he became famous in the world of wildlife.

The kids really love the little people, big dreams books, this book is certainly no exception! The kids absolutely loved this book; knowing who this person is made it much more exciting for them! He will be forever missed! We still watch his shows and follow his kids on social media, we really enjoy the whole family!

This is another endearing biography in the series of Little People, Big Dreams (4-7 years old), bringing a legendary figure who was passionate about animals and our surroundings.

Steve Irvin grew up in Australia, in family who loved animals. When he was eight, his family started a wildlife refuge. And when he was nine, he learned how to rescue a crocodile. From then on, he continued his passion for saving crocodiles.

He soon became Australia’s top “croc catcher,” and filming a documentary called “The Crocodile Hunter.” It became a popular show worldwide.

Steve’s enthusiasm for animals, especially crocodiles, comes through in this story and through illustrations. (The illustrations portraying little Steve are very cute). His story teaches that we belong to the planet as all other creatures and we should responsibly share the planet, rather than act as we own it.

In this wonderful biography presented with clear voice and examples, the “Little People” can learn about a man who did what he passionately cared for.

This book on Steve Irwin is a brilliant addition to the Litte People, Big Dreams book series.
As someone who spent. nearly 20 years in Australia I loved reading this with my 6 year old and Elsie entitled it so much she read it again and again in her own. My older two girls remember the ‘Crocodile Hunter’ and the Australian Zoo as they visited so both were interested in this too.
The illustrations are cute and the writing is knowledgeable and clear.
I will pre order this book to add t our collection

Who was Steve Irwin?

From the series "Little people, big dreams": Steve Irwin. This book is about a little boy from Australia who loves animals and who is particularly fond of crocodiles and wildlife. His parents' wild refuge saves crocodiles and other animals. Steve later makes this his job, also on TV.

The illustrations are great. Colourful. Lively drawings of Steve's story.

Review: I like the factual selection of the story and the great pictures that accompany it. But(!): I miss a few words about the special death of Steve Irwin in the picture story itself. Of course it's still a children's book, but this part of the story is also part of Steve's life (explained in a child-friendly way) and very important.

This is part of an adorable biography series that appeals to all ages. The illustrations are more suited for younger children, but my middle schoolers will also like when I add this book to our biography baskets. Steve Irwin is a much-admired and recognizable name that I know will be a popular book choice.
