I loved the Kissing Booth films so I was intrigued to read this. It’s a cute read and a recommend for those who love a romantic read. I did find the characters were hard to get into at first and it took a while to really get into rhythm because of that.

Having seen the Kissing Booth series on Netflix, I had an idea in my head of what to expect, but unfortunately I don’t think this book was for me. However being a YA book I can forgive some of its shortcomings. Still, some of the characters felt under developed and it just wasn’t a book that I enjoyed. I think if I was a younger reader, I may have enjoyed it more.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

To be honest when I read the synopsis I thought this book would be right up my street, I love a nerdy character. And I assumed it would be a cute office based romance. Sadly it was a little to disjointed for me. Annas changing her mind constantly just started to annoy me, and the romance between her and Lloyd just never really got going in opinion it was a bit of a disappointment. It was more about her work life than building up their relationship.

I would definitely read other books by the author, the story was there, the characters just needed developing more in my opinion and the story filling out.

This is the second book by Beth Reekles I’ve tried to read, and the second of which I couldn’t finish. I just don’t know what it is but it’s sadly not for me.

Sincerely Yours, Anna Sherwood.... It just wasn't for me unfortunately so I will be giving it 1.5 stars.

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't like it (sorry). The blurb / premises sounded like it would be something I would really enjoy but I guess I was wrong. The two main characters were just annoying me, could have been a bit more shorter, and it felt like there was too much back and forth with them, and I just didn't connect with either of them. However, I will say that I liked how they met and that's about it for me.

Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy.

This was a fun and easy read - perfect to get you out of a reading slump. Although I didn't always connect with the characters, they were likeable and I found myself rooting for them.
I didn't see the ending coming whatsoever which I always enjoy as I think it means the book is well written!
I'd definitely recommend this book if you're after an easy to read YA romance.

I really enjoyed this book after reading a lot of Christmas books it was the perfect pallet cleanser. It was lighthearted, funny and romantic read.

The story focused on Anna and Lloyd.

Anna is a hard-worker and introverted, wanting to spend her summer proving herself so that she can do well at university and achieve a good job after graduating.

Lloyd is the boss’s s son of where Anna is working for the summer. He is trying to live up to his father’s expectations whilst also finding what he likes out of life and wanting to fulfil his ambitions.

When one night Anna and Lloyd bump into each other they think they will never see each other again but when Anna has her first day on her summer internship she quickly learns that Lloyd is the boss’s son and this is where is all goes wrong. Because deep down they both like each other but they keep pushing each other away. In an enemies to lovers, slow burning romance this was a quick and fun read which I definitely recommend.

When Anna secures herself an internship at prestigious company Arrowmile she is determined to prove herself. What she didn’t factor in was falling for Lloyd, the boy she met in a bar just before the summer started.
There’s the expected confusion as both Lloyd and Anna have to come to terms with the things they’d rather people didn’t know. They clearly will end up together but it takes ages to get there.
Things go as expected. The family relationships were undeveloped but give us enough to get things underway.
Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the chance to read and review this.

Really cute read! Perfect chapter lengths, not too long, and a storyline that was lighthearted but not too predictable. Will definitely be recommending this to my romance-loving friends.

Upon reading the synopsis and requesting, I thought that this was going to be a great read, but I was mistaken. After reading I found myself to be annoyed with Annalise more than a few times. There were parts where the story could have been longer, and some were shorter. The romance that was happening was just flat for me, I didn’t catch the spark they were having.

Loved this one! This one definitely made me smile! A fun romantic story with enemies to lovers and grumpy- sunshine tropes. It's a fun workplace romance with lots of banter and tension.

A good read for the holiday period! Definitely recommend!

This review contains little hints that can be seen as spoilers. :)

I’ve never read a book set in an office space. As someone who has never been to one, this book was a good introduction to the world of office spaces. Following Anna Sherwood through her 12-week internship, I got sucked into her small world, and I actually liked it. The writing style grabbed my attention right from the start, and I found myself flying through the book.

The office space, as a setting, is very interesting. Anna, a workaholic, made the setting feel crucial, like a trust between Anna and her work. Her small world felt even smaller, with connections limited to those walls and just a bit beyond. I really liked that choice.

Additionally, I can now say that I’m in love with the way Beth Reekles introduces characters and information about them. It feels organic and makes the characters more believable. The story was a bit predictable (given it's a summer internship romcom), but the introduction of new information or characters surprised me, making me want to know more about them. The only downside is that this was the sole reason to keep me reading. There wasn’t a lot of suspense, except at the end. The forbidden love wasn't captivating enough, and the constant miscommunication got on my nerves. Due to that, I believe the tension I felt at the end could have been introduced much sooner.

Thank you, NetGalley, Beth Reekles, and the publisher, for letting me read this book. It was a pleasure to have this opportunity.

I’ve tried to read multiple books by this author and her writing just never seems to resonate with me I’m afraid. I try to get into Beth’s books but her particular writing style is not for me.

This book was sweet and endearing. The dynamic between the FL and ML is engaging but the 'will they, won't they' gets a bit overdone. I'm astonished by how young the characters are, it almost feels unrealistic that she is just starting college and he is over halfway through, they are in their early early twenties but in parts it feels like they are mentally very much children. For example, Anna's very flat, single dimensioned view of her mother and her life and relationships. I found the emails written but never sent trope quite cringey in one or two parts but overall a fun read with a HEA.

This was a sweet book and an enjoyable quick read. I enjoyed Annalise and her character and getting to know the world around her. I did find at times it dragged on a little and felt I could skip some bits and stil be able to keep up with the story.

All in all I would definitely try this author again

Another great romcom fun read from Reekles!

It’s a classic, "bosses son" trope romance with a touch of grumpy/sunshine and rivals to lovers.
Some of the side characters were pretty off the peg stereotypes but it’s an easy read with laughs and swoon.

This sweet rom-com with office based tension was a really fun read. I loved Annalise and Lloyd, and you couldn't help but root for them from their very first interaction.

This book was everything I needed. I enjoyed the characters, setting and the humor! I adored the relationship between the love interests and what made it better was banter and tension between them! Can’t wait to read more of Beth Reekles’s books!
