I did end up enjoying this one but I also felt that the premise wasn't super unique, so it did take me a while to get really stuck in.

Reekles has given us a decent young adult coming-of-age book, depicting the struggles and inner workings of two highly achieving, albeit somewhat unrelatable, teenagers. I found it challenging to empathize with either of the main characters, failed to perceive any chemistry between them, and thought the side characters seemed stereotypical and lacked substance. Despite Anna frequently mentioning how poorly she was treated by other girls at university, she often exhibited borderline mean behavior toward Lloyd, leaving me puzzled about his unwavering infatuation. Nevertheless, it served as one of those easy reads where you can simply switch off for a few hours, successfully pulling me out from the depths of reading slump (Mr. Gatsby, I'm looking at you...)

As usual, this book was amazing and Reekles knows how to keep me wanting more. Nothing could be worse than meeting a guy and then learning he is your new boss' son! This was a situation I wanted to see how it played out and it kept me on my toes!

Really enjoyed this, was an easy read and this author is an auto buy for me! didn’t think i’d enjoy it as much as i did! looking forward to reading more :)

Annalise and Lloyd promise a journey of self-discovery, unexpected connections, and an adorable relationship. The friction between them adds a layer of complexity to their interactions, creating a mix of conflict and chemistry. Late-night work sessions act as a catalyst, bringing them closer and prompting Annalise to reassess her initial judgments about Lloyd. The contrast in their backgrounds and personalities creates a compelling narrative.
The author crafts Annalise's character as someone who is not only driven professionally but also capable of reassessing her preconceptions and embracing unexpected relationships. Author drafted the journey of self-discovery of Annalise very well, making her a dynamic and relatable FMC for readers to follow through the twists and turns of her story.
The author keeps the readers intrigued about the true nature of Lloyd's character, questioning whether there's more depth beneath the surface. The growth and complexity in his character adds depth to the narrative, revealing more about Lloyd's true self as the story unfolds. His relationship with his family could have been given a depth.
It has grumpy × sunshine kinda vibes with the playful banter during late-night work sessions (enemies to lover vibe). It's a lighthearted and feel good book. Over all I liked it.

After reading The Summer Switch Off by Beth, I’m now devouring anything she writes! With such great characters and plot development, it’s easy to read and keep going for that one chapter more! Anna and Lloyd are characters to fall in love with (whilst they fall in love with each other) and the setting of the summer internship was great with all the goings on of the office life.

This was an easy read, one I didn’t have to really think about!
I with all romance books, after you’ve read a few, you can generally figure how it’s going to go and in all honesty this was no different! However saying that I still really enjoyed it!

Anna meets a guy the weekend before her internship, and he turns out to be the boss's son and chaos ensues. Anna is a character I'm conflicted on. She has some great moments, especially around her relationship with her mother, but she definitely had moments that made her difficult to like.
The second I saw the first email draft, I knew what was going to happen. For a smart girl, Anna does some stupid things. Not to mention trying to keep their thing a secret while allowing him into the flat she shares with the other interns.
Lloyd, the boss's son, is a sweetie, I wish the book was dual POV so we could see inside his head. Especially during the conversations we know he has with his brother. I think he compliments Anna really well, and the moments when they're being themselves are very cute.
There's a lot of miscommunication in this book, and it's one of my least favourite tropes, which is why I've decided to give the book 3 stars. I feel like the drama between Anna and Lloyd was unnecessary when the book already had a 3rd act conflict around the emails. That being said, I loved the authors' book the summer switch-off, and I will most likely pick up others as well.
I received an advance review copy of this book, and this review represents my honest opinion. Thank you to netgalley, Beth Reekles, and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

In the acknowledgments, the author says that ‘This book is a bit of a love letter to tropes; to first love and finding yourself; and a little bit to London’, and I think this perfectly sums up the story. It’s about a young person who thinks she knows everything only to get shaken on everything she believes.
Annalise Sherwood has won a place on a prestigious internship even though she’s just finished her first year of university. She’s laser focussed; this is the first step to what she wants in life post-education. Except there’s one complication, she hasn’t counted on meeting a nice boy and really connecting – and she really hasn’t counted on that boy being the CEO’s son. Anna hasn’t got time for boys, and she especially can’t date the boss’s son, it’ll jeopardise everything she’s worked for, right?
Anna annoyed me from the go BUT I’m glad I kept reading. Anna’s very self-righteous and quite frankly a bit of a fun sponge, she’s also very miserly for a middle class 19-year-old. However, she grows and develops a lot through the story which is really well done. I think one of the reasons Anna bothers me so much is that my younger, not yet jaded by corporate life, self would probably have thought similarly which is irksome but good writing. I will say that I never really got Anna and Lloyd as a soulmates level couple – I think she’s pretty awful to him and he’s quite nice; but Anna’s doubts about the situation, the impact it would have on her reputation, are totally warranted and that’s the ugly truth of being a woman in male dominated spaces.
This isn’t an enemies to lovers book, it’s more a ‘I like you but stuff gets in the way’ love story and the love story part is actually quite frustrating, though pleasantly spicy at times. It’s a sweet book, I enjoyed the second half a lot more than the first and I really liked the ending.
Things I loved:
- The reference to Hamilton
- Elle Woods being Anna’s feminist icon (and her pink dress)
- The high cost of saying yes to everything at work
- The friendships between the interns
- Lloyd
Things I didn’t love so much:
- The romantic lead being named Lloyd
- The way Anna treats Lloyd yet he still likes her
- The romantisication of toxic work culture
-Anna

For me this was a super cute read, that I found super easy to read. This book contains many tropes but the main ones that I noticed in this book were Opposites Attract, Grumpy x sunshine and Workplace romance.
I love reading a workplace romance so this was a very pleasant and enjoyable read that once I really got into the story it was really hard to stop reading.
I did find the beginning a little slow but other than that I really enjoyed it

After reading Beth Reekles’ previous romance novel, Faking It, I was excited to see she was releasing another and couldn’t wait to pick it up. Sincerely Yours, Anna Sherwood captures the worries of transitioning from being a student to a working adult all whilst learning who you are and finding love.
Anna has worked non-stop to get herself a place on a prestigious internship programme and nothing is going to stop her now. She figures one night of fun won’t hurt, especially when it ends with her best kiss ever.
To her horror, she discovers the guy she kissed is none other than Lloyd, the company CEO’s son. From the moment they meet, in the office, they rub each other the wrong way. But, a lot of late-night working brings them unexpectedly closer and she wonders if there is more to him than she thought.
I think the way this book discusses the struggles of transitioning from student life to the world of work is excellent. It manages to capture the competitive yet friendly office environment whilst also showing the longing for your family and home. That isn’t something I was expecting this book to do but I’m so glad that it did.
For that reason, I think this book will resonate with young adults as well as adults. As it addresses the hard balance between life and work and all the mistakes we make along the way.
I loved both Anna and Lloyd as main characters. Anna is a lot more complex than she might seem on the surface. She is determined, ambitious and I loved watching how she develops throughout the book. Her journey demonstrates the demands we all face both from family and from ourselves to succeed and move forward.
Lloyd is like a human golden retriever who is kind, gracious and extremely caring. He also has worries about succeeding in life and that is one of the things he and Anna bond over. Their romance is adorable and I would have read a lot more about Anna and Lloyd.
Beth Reekles has become one of my auto-buy authors following this book. Her books are always well-written, fun and romantic all whilst discussing some of the heavier topics we sometimes face in life.
Overall, Sincerely Yours, Anna Sherwood is an excellent read if you are looking for a fun, light-hearted romance read that delves into transitioning from being a student to work life and other slightly heavier topics. I would highly recommend it!

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for providing me a copy of this book to be reviewed.
This is the first book I have read by the author, I did enjoy this book it was easy to follow with a cute story line, with the concepts of stress and strains of a working adult, as well as trying to live up to family expectations.
I wish this book however had more romance between Anna and Lloyd . However all in all was a good read

This is not my first @authorbethreekles and it most certainly will not be my last. I absolutely adored this book. Anna has worked incredibly hard to get where she is and on a night out she makes a decision that she will not let a boy get in the way of her career ever again. Until that boy turns out to be the one. Despite their heads saying they shouldn’t, their hearts most definitely disagree. Lloyd is only her new bosses daughter and they’ve fallen head over heels only Anna doesn’t want to be seen as only dating the bosses son to get ahead. I don’t want to spoil things but there was so much more than a romance in this, so many relationships and it demonstrates that nothing is ever how it seems. I’d definitely recommend for a grumpy x sunshine trope that’s an easy read.
Thank you to @netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
4.5/5 Stars.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book and I’m glad I gave it a chance. Having read author’s previous work, I was a little hesitant about reading this one, but it was really good and cute. What I’ve loved most about the story is that it’s somewhere in between young adult and new adult—freshman at college, which you don’t get to read about often. Of course, I also loved Lloyd since he was really charismatic, charming and funny. But I felt bad for Anna since she felt like she needed to look so ahead into the future (regarding her job) and didn’t let herself let hair down sometimes or give love a chance and I was truly hoping for her to come around. The story though is a little predictable, but what romance nowadays isn’t? After all, a really enjoyable, easy, quick and wholesome read.

Enjoyable read. Lighthearted romance. Good description of the inner struggles for work/life balance.

4.75 stars!
"I think if the right people meet at the right time, under the right circumstances ... I think you could fall in love with just about anyone."
this is the first book i read by Beth Reekles. i didn't think i would enjoy it as much as i did, but i'm so glad i read it as it did not disappoint! it was a lighthearted story and a quick read! i just wish we got more of Anna and Lloyd's relationship. looking forward to reading more books by the author!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Loved this opposites attract romcom book following Anna and Lloyd who rub each other up the wrong way but have that burning chemistry deep down. This is the first book that I have ever read by this author and I look forward to reading more.

Absolutely loved this book!
The authors writing style is amazing!
I look forward to reading more from them!

In the acknowledgements, Beth Reekles says this book is a love letter to tropes. And that it is.
A charming story about a frowned upon workplace romance, with a hint of rivals to lovers, a dash of reunited family and a healthy side of tension.
The whole story tugged at my heart strings. It follows flawed characters learning what it means to be an adult in the working world and juggling new pressures, insecurities and outside judgement.
This was such a good read, and Beth writes characters that are flawed (cough cough, human), and yet still loveable. People you might expect to see in the real world walking around Southbank or down the pub after you've closed down your final spreadsheet.
Sincerely Yours, Anna Sherwood is such a lovely story and I wish I could live in the world of the interns for a while longer.

I had high enough expectations with this book because I LOVED The Kissing Booth series, but I was sadly let down.
I could not connect with the FMC, Anna at all! She was just so standoffish and sort of self righteous, she was in the right about everything and I just couldn’t take how much she threw that at Lloyd! She made me so mad! 🙈
I did really enjoy Lloyd’s character! I thought he was sweet and thoughtful, and really pushed himself to be the best for his dad’s company. I think he was misunderstood and overlooked a lot, but he had a really strong character and chose to rise above every time.
The book as a whole, felt a bit drawn out and dare I say boring? I know it was based on an internship but it felt like that was all there was to the story, no other background side plots.. it just felt like it missed the mark for me.
Thanks so much to NetGalley for sending me the ARC. This one wasn’t for me, but I’ve loved some of her previous work so I’d still be excited to read more of Beth’s work in the future.
