I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook.
I didn't know this was a part of a series (part 2 actually) and I usually don't need to read the entire series from the beginning on a book I can usually follow along but with this book this I had to go and read the first book because so much was happening and it was all in the first novel so I felt lost.
All and all the book is okay. I like that these woman came together as friends but I just think that everyone of their personal issues that were separate was just kind of boring and I just didn't think it was engaging at least for me. I usually love these type of stories but it was just okay and an easy fast read.
This is the follow up to The 3am Shattered Mums’Club when the three friends were in the thick of raising newborns. You just feel that Aisha, Mel and Sophy are credible characters. They are distinct, with their own stories in the background and all struggling in their own ways with life now that their children are starting school. I liked them all. There are moments that everyone who has lived through such a time will recognise, from the social war zone that is the school playground to the dreaded WhatsApp groups. Above all, they are reevaluating what they want for their futures which includes taking a long look at their relationships.
I found this to be an entertaining read, with plenty to amuse. Most of the humour comes from the finely observed characters and their dialogue. Friendship and family are at the centre of the women’s lives and by the end, you can see them all evolving with a fresh direction. Some have to look back at past choices, to see whether they followed the right way. To me, the overall message emerges to be true to yourself.
In short: a witty look at family and friendship.
A good palate cleanser, The 6pm Frazzled Mums’ Club stands as a fun sequel to The 3am Shattered Mums’ Club but the story, writing style and dialogue sadly pale in comparison.
From the cover and blurb, I was expecting personal dramas interspersed with the pains of raising toddlers and everything that comes with it. The children are instead in the background and we actually spend a good chunk of the book on a cruise, without the partners and kids.
Compared to the first book, the stakes are almost nonexistent. Mel, Aisha and Sophy each deal with a problem or two that could get, and do get resolved in a conversation and I was left wanting more. More from the dialogue, which I got lost in more than once, more from the writing style, which was a lot of exposition that just didn’t live up to the way it complemented the themes of the first book.
“Whatever the question, the answer is wine” as an homage to the borderline alcoholic wine mom demographic is just… It doesn’t even fit here! Again, the cover and blurb feel disconnected from the actual book, and that’s where this is similar to the first one. There’s no potty training or tantrums the parents have to deal with and no exploration of that particular part of parenthood that I was looking forward to reading.
All in all though, I can’t say I had a bad time. Easy to read, familiar characters and low stakes made this a nice respite from the stuff I’ve been reading and for that I appreciate it.
Thank you to Boldwood Books for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I loved The 3am Shattered Mums’ Club so it was great to revisit the ladies in this sequel. This is such a heartwarming book. Despite the title, it’s not a moan about being a mother and everything that comes with it. Instead, it is a realistic overview of motherhood, and what having a good set of friends can do for you.
As a new mother myself, it had me feeling a whole range of emotions. It showed me how life changes after becoming a mother, but not in all the “bad” ways people like to tell you about. You can have a career, a happy marriage and a wonderful set of friends. Becoming a mother has certainly shown me the value of having a good circle around you.
This book was easy to read because of the author’s style. It’s funny and engaging. Many of us know the struggle of having too many friendship groups on the go! The funny moments balance the more emotional parts and you end up with one big, comforting hug.

Nina Manning - The 6pm frazzled mums club
Thank you so much Nina Manning and Rachel’s random resources for gifting me a digital copy of 'The 6pm frazzled mum club' in exchange for an honest review.
I am so excited to review this book, I fell in love with book 1 (The 3am shattered mums club) and jumped at the opportunity to read and review book 2. We are back following Aisha, Sophy and Mel with a gaggle of toddlers tackling the new world of starting school and the playground politics that comes with it.
I really love this book and series and highly recommend to any mum, new or old or planning as it sums up motherhood so brilliantly with humorous highs as well as the sad lows they are all covered.

What a delightful, heart warming book. Whilst a little younger than Penny, and not having parents that need full time care, I was able to really identify and empathize with her. The story was compelling and entertaining while also shining an important light on the plight of women, particularly mothers, today.
Nina Manning had me immersed in the mums’ lives and I enjoyed how their lives were shown. I’m not a mum yet, but The 6PM Frazzled Mums’ Club had me feeling maternal. It was great to have another book to update myself on the lives of Aisha, Sophy and Mel as their children start school. I felt I wanted more from them as soon as I finished The 3AM Shattered Mum’s Club, and I got it in The 6PM Frazzled Mum’s Club.
A fun, gritty look into the lives of three mums and their children.
Thanks to Nina Manning, Boldwood Books and Rachel’s Random Resources for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
4 stars.
The 6pm Frazzled Mums’ Club is the second book in the Frazzled Mums’ Club series and follows Sophy, Aisha, and Mel – whose children are now ready to start their journies into school and education, but that doesn’t make life easier for each of them – all are struggling with different problems in their lives.
Sophy is still trying to showcase the perfect influencer life, and that everything is just amazing, but behind the scenes, she is struggling to keep on top of everyday life which puts even more pressure on her. Aisha feels lost with her twins starting school, but with her Mum becoming unwell, Aisha seemingly has to rethink her whole life. Mel is offered the chance of a lifetime, but it comes with some pretty emotional strings attached.
Can Sophy, Aisha, and Mel work through these new struggles and challenges in life? Or will life have to change dramatically for one, or even all of them? The 6pm Frazzled Mums’ Club is another fantastic story from Nina Manning. I loved seeing the journey of the 3 characters, and how their strong friendship and love for each other has just grown. A joy of a book to read.
It is nice catching up with Mel, Aisha and Sophy again, it has to be said :) The babies are babies no more, and have started school. As I have a 5 year old granddaughter who has just started school, I can relate to that!
Mel has the opportunity to sing on a cruise ship and she wants the other two to go with her. No-one told her that her ex is also on the ship......
Aisha now has time to think about herself a little more now her twins are at school. What is it exactly that she wants? And what about her partner?
Sophy is trying to keep all her balls in the air. Mean girls aren't only in high school, it turns out. Some of them have turned into mums and want to play their games at the school gate too.
I like how the lives of these three women intersect yet again. They are all very different but somehow the bond they formed in the last book when their kids were tiny, still persists. These are the best kind of friendships, I love that.
4.5 stars from me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books.
4.5*
The trio I met in The 3am Frazzled Mums Club have moved on a few years and the babies who bonded Aisha, Sophy and Mel are all starting in Reception. A rite of passage that is a massive milestone for both child and mum.
I remember both my sons’ first day at reception. The first I was bawling before I left the playground; the second I made it the 7 minute walk home before starting. I love the idea of the first day care package from the Reception teacher – if only school budgets could really stretched that far!
As the trio navigate their way through the playground politics (that minefield is real) and their new routine of school run, they enter a new phase of their lives. But Mel takes them somewhere they would have never have banked on! That little adventure is definitely an eye opener for them all in different ways.
Manning has taken the 3am Frazzled Mums and set them new life challenges which they face head on together. This is what I love about Mel, Aisha and Sophy – what one faces, she has her girls right beside her watching her back, supporting her and straightening the proverbial crown.
The 6pm Frazzled Mums’ Club is a fun heartwarming book about friendship going through rites of passage, self doubt and self discovery. I galloped through this light hearted read and was left all warm and fuzzy but wanting more. I need another instalment from the Frazzled Mums!
What a fun book. It's book 2 in a series but I didn't read the first and it was fine on its own. It's a real look at parenthood, the joys and pitfalls. I loved the honesty portrayed in such a humors lighthearted way. It's also an amazing story of friendship. It really does take a village to raise a family and great friends to keep your sanity.
The 6pm Frazzled Mums Club by Nina Manning is an absolutely charming contemporary novel that I thoroughly enjoyed. It carries on from The 3am Shattered Mums’ Club but can be read as a stand-alone. I recommend reading the previous book first to get the background and to see character progression.
It was a pure delight to catch up with familiar characters as the new mums from the first book are now waving goodbye to their little ones at the school gates. It is a time of great change as a new chapter in lives begins.
The three new mums from book one now face a time when they can follow their different dreams. They also have a wealth of experience that they can use to help support others who are struggling with parenthood.
The playground can be a vicious arena – for mums as well as for children!
Now is the time to pick up lives again – one mum returns to singing, her first love; another starts a new venture following her lifelong dream; and a third – can you guess? Read the book to find out!
Families are important. We see lives beginning to crumble when an elderly parent receives a devastating diagnosis.
I thoroughly enjoyed The 6pm Frazzled Mums’ Club showing a deep friendship and love for family and friends. It was a really fun read showing how important it is to have support around you when bringing up children.
I received a free copy via Rachel’s Random Resources. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
Friends Aisha, Sophy and Mel are back and the kids aren't babies anymore, they are starting school. I loved being back with the girls and following all there life dramas. I laughed so hard reading some of the antics and I also cried a little. It amazes me how quickly it feels like these women are friends that I could just pop in on or call them for a chat. This series is definitely a favourite of mine and I really hope there is going to be more because I already miss the girls. If you want a book to take you back to the school gates then this would be my first choice and I adored reading it and became easily absorbed in the pages.
Sophy, Aisha and Mel are back but now they have moved past the newborn stage. Trying to navigate through life is still hard but with a lot more obstacles and unexpected events on the way.
If you haven’t read the 3 am Shattered Mums’ Club, the 6 pm Frazzled Mums’ Club is a fantastic and funny, but relatable sequel. It was great to come back to these characters and see the support they have for one another is even stronger.
Manning writes a realistic novel that many parents can relate to; a novel full of so many emotions this is one to read. I am hoping for a third book instalment and would recommend adding this to your to-be-read pile if you haven’t already.
I strongly recommend this second instalment and sequel of the ' The 3am Shattered Mum's Club'. Having reviewed the first book in the series, I was already acquainted with each character and their idiosyncrasies. Reading the series' initial book is not a requirement, but it can certainly provide readers with an understanding of the characters.
The realization that the friendship between Sophy, Aisha and Mel had continued to thrive with the same strength as when the last book ended, brought me great delight. I was apprehensive about the possibility of a member being absent or changes occurring in the group's dynamic. The story in this new book begins as the main characters' children start their schooling, leaving the women with newfound free time.
Manning's writing style is humorous and engaging, resulting in a relatable and realistic read that will resonate with many parents, past or present. She remains honest about the challenges of parenthood, which is expertly portrayed in her writing. The plot is fast-paced, with a mix of heartwarming and comedic moments that undoubtedly deserve its five-star rating.
If you're in search of an enjoyable and easy-to-read book about strong female friendships that don't shame parents, then this is the perfect read for you!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Boldwood Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you so much!
Oh, I loved being back with the girls and so much is happening. Despite guessing some of the twists and turns, I loved my adventures with them and I am so jealous of the cruise!!!! It is something I have always wanted to go on, and I felt like I was with the girls, traveling around.
These girls are amazing and what a support system!! Something everyone needs!! It’s funny how your system changes as you get older but these girls are there for each other no matter and I loved that. I want more stories with them, I want to know what is going on now. I feel there is much more to come from them and the new additions. Plus Pom Jam!! I want to go!
This book just makes me mushy and it makes me smile and yes I may have cried at one point. It makes me want to message my friends and tell them it will be ok. It is such a feel-good story and one, despite tackling more sensitive subjects, is good fun to read!
Every book I have read of Nina’s I have enjoyed so much. She is so versatile it’s unreal and I can’t wait to catch up with more. I would just love another book in this series. The way these women are written, it feels as if they are my friends down the road. I feel included in the book, I feel seen and I feel as though I have a new group of friends. I just want more!
Another fantastic totally relatable read! Following on from the 0300 am shattered mums club, we follow the trio as they embark upon the next stage of parenthood! The children are now starting school and this entails all the horrors, ethics and morals of the school playground mafia! The ups and downs of family life, relationships, children and most importantly the joys of female friendship support and camaraderie! A great read that I would highly recommend to all women but especially relevant to middle aged mums juggling both child care and aging parents, Thank you NetGalley for this early read
Following on from the hugely successful 3am Shattered Mums Club, the next installment is so relevant, however old your kids are! We've al been there for the emotional first day of school and the endless need to burn off energy!
That's what makes Nina Manning's books so relatable; they're about ordinary women, with ordinary lives and ordinary kids. Sophy, Mel and Aisha are back and facing all new challenges - like what do you do with your life when your kids are at school and don't need you so much?
There are some great laughs, some tears and a whole load of cosy friendship going on. You can't help but want to join the gang and wish that these three were your best friends!
I can't wait for the teenage years!
We are back for the next update on Aisha’s, Sophy’s and Mel’s life and it didn’t disappoint. The kids are started Reception class and all the fun and games with meeting new parents is intriguing. When Mel gets offered a job on a cruise ship for ten days they all go. Loads of fun exciting times to be had.
These are so relatable and it’s funny reading about the lives all parents seem to have. Easy read that will make you laugh.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.
