Loved this book, so easy to read and enjoyed the characters and setting.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
this is a hug in a book! such a lovely heartwarming story with a cast of characters that you would love to be friends with and how i want to live on Ivy Lane!
a great read
I received a copy of this for my honest review
I tried to finish this story, and I just don't think I am in the right mood to finish this. It is a sweet romance that involves a FMC getting broken up with and moving forward with her life. I did choose to DNF - for now, but might go back to it
This is such a feelgood read with a cast of characters who form part of such a close knit community. At its centre, Erin finds that she can realise her dreams and ambitions if she has the help of those around her. Ivy Lane is a lovely little community which takes the place of her family in so many ways.
You can read the story as a standalone but I would recommend reading others in this series to get to know some of the others back stories. Erin’s story, as the others, has warmth and leaves you with a smile on your face.
In short: friends, community, starting over
This is not normally the type of book I read but, although it was a little slow at the start, it became a very easy, nice read. Some of the adventures I could relate to. A very nice, book.
Many thanx to NetGalley, the author and the publishers for allowing me to read and review this book
This was a sweet tale that whisks you right back to Ivy Lane where we meet all our old friends, and make some new ones...or at least get to know them a bit better this go round.
My heart felt for Erin. She was blindsided by an awful situation, and, seriously, if I ever saw this Aaron character...let's just say I'd have a few choice words for him. *hmpf* Anywho, Erin leaned on one friend, while hiding the change in status from the others, but secrets have a way of coming out eventually, just like the one thing you can always count on is change, and it often comes at the most unexpected of moments. Sometimes for better...in the long run...and sometimes for worse...at least seemingly in the short term. Same goes for Erin, but destiny, or whatever you want to call it, had another plan for her, and it came in the form of her following a long held dream she didn't even fully realize until the right moment, the right opportunity came along.
Watching Erin take those next steps in her life was inspiring, and her circle of friends just added to the overall heartwarming tale. It made you believe in the possibilities, if only we're strong enough, brave enough, have faith enough to give something new a chance. Dreams can't come true if you don't help them along. New opportunities don't become realities without some effort on our part. Letting life happen to us and being a passive bystander is not the recipe for a happy, and fulfilling life. Sure there are times when what we want and what we have may be two different things, but that doesn't mean they won't align one day. For Erin they did...same for Jo and Lorcan, Flora and Henry, and all the residents of this charming little Lane...which adds up to a wonderful story filled with friends that welcome you back time and again.
A great pick for Women's Fiction fans, and the perfect addition to this growing series.
A lovely read. This is a story of love and friendships, when Erin leaves work one evening exhausted after her shift in the Ivy inn where she is the head chef she gets a shock when she discovers her live in partner of three years had uped and left her. With the help of her best friends and a new venture which is a lifelong dream she eventually gets to fing happiness for herself while also working to bring happiness to some of her nearest and dearest,
I genuinely ended up loving this book. It felt really slow to start and I struggled through the first 15-20%. But once it picked up I couldn't put it down. I loved the relationships throughout. While I love a romance I really appreciate a book that doesn't need or depend on that to move the story forward. This is really a story of self discovery and friendships and was beautifully done.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Typical broken hearted heroine sets up her dream business, with the help from her friends, story.
This is part of a series, but I read it as a standalone and wasn't too confused.
It's a feel good story, set in Derry. Worth a read, but as a standalone, it won't stay with me for long. Maybe if I'd read the other books in the series, it would have padded out the detail and built a bigger picture?
I'd go back and read the other books if I needed a pick-me-up, but this isn't my preferred genre type, so I probably won't seek them out otherwise. .
A heartwarming and uplifting tale of self-discovery, friendship, and the pursuit of happiness. Erin Donohue is faced with the sudden departure of her boyfriend Aaron, prompting her to re-evaluate her life and her dreams. As she navigates the challenges of being suddenly single and the uncertainty of the future, Erin finds inspiration in the courage and determination of her friends. The novel is a delightful blend of romance, humour, and personal growth.
The return to Ivy Lane and the reunion with its endearing characters was a joyous experience. Whether familiar with the previous books or not, this installment stands strongly on its own while still nodding to past events. Erin, the Head Chef at the Ivy Inn, takes center stage in a story that's just as captivating as ever, thanks to Freya Kennedy's skillful writing. Each character, old or new, is imbued with charm, making them feel like cherished friends. Erin's journey of resilience and self-discovery, amidst the backdrop of Ivy Lane's cozy community, offers universal appeal. While it's tough to pick favorites, Harry's memorable presence adds to the book's charm. Like its predecessors, this enchanting tale engrosses the reader and leaves them eagerly anticipating another visit to Ivy Lane
What do you do when your friends move on and you stay the same. this book touched this subject and it was great from beginning to end.
“Don’t Stop Believing” by Freya Kennedy marks the return to Ivy Lane.
This story was charming to say the least. It includes multiple timelines and a shows the FMC’s second chance to follow her dreams.
As a reader, you’ll be thoroughly rooting for Erin, so go get this book!
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for gifting me this advanced copy. I truly enjoyed it.
I found it quite hard to get into the story at first, even though I did like the close-knit community vibes. I liked the journey Erin went on as she rebuilt herself and started her business and found the relationships between the characters heartwarming. I do think it's more women's fiction with a dash of romance instead of a romance book per se.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
I love the feels that this book gave me. It is a great book and I really enjoyed it. I read this quickly and loved everything about it.
I just reviewed Don't Stop Believing by Freya Kennedy. #DontStopBelieving #NetGalley

Don't Stop Believing was just an okay contemporary fiction novel for me. I didn't really need to read it, it took up some time just getting into the story. I think it was marketed as more of a romance than it actually is. The real romance doesn't happen until the book is almost 80% of the way through, and it's very PG romance at that. Don't get me wrong it was sweet, but it was just that, sweet. I would recommend this book if you like the building of a business. That was mainly what this book was focused on. The main character, Erin, gets dumped and a brilliant opportunity to start her own bakery arises. So it follows her as she finds her footing on her own and gets her business up and running. This book was very much about small time vibes. So if you like reading about really close knit communities where everyone knows everyone and is rooting each other on, this book will be for you. So all in all, this book wasn't for me, but if you like the things I listed, give it a try. It will at least be good for an afternoon cozied up with a mug of tea.
The book was OK. Parts of the story were really engaging and interesting. The issue was that there was a lot of repetition in phrasing (Erin’s red curly hair for example). A really good editor would have eliminated so much of this. But as it was I just found the book aggravating despite being a cute story with tons of potential.
Nice read, Erin has to start a new life after her partner leaves her. Easy read and loved her adventures
This blurb sums this book up perfectly. 'It’s time to return to Ivy Lane, where hopes and dreams can become happy-ever-afters...'
What a lovely story. Erin is for the most part a happy person but after a long shift at the Ivy Inn she comes home to find her boyfriend gone and her life changed forever. How will she move on and make her life and dreams a reality.
This is such a warm and cosy read and one I curled up with and read pretty much in one sitting. I love Erin and find her to be heart-warming and inspiring and this book makes you feel like you can do anything if you put your mind to it. A fun, romantic, heart-warming and entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed and am glad that I read.
