When I read this book I hadn’t realized it was part of a series - however it can definitely be read as a stand alone. This book was a great read and now I want to read the others. This is a new author to me but I will definitely be checking out her other books. Would recommend to anyone wanting to read a cute story with a strong female lead!
What a great little smart Romance story, as well as focusing on strong , courageous woman taking charge of their life. This is my first book by this author and I didn’t realize there were other books based around these characters — but this book could definitely be a stand alone story.
I could relate to this main character immediately— I liked that this story is mostly focused on having the main character Erin pick herself up from her life blowing up in her face and trying to go for her dreams and making things happen for herself in the next chapter of her life . Instead of pushing the main character into a new romance to get over her pain —the romance in the story was more focused on minor characters in the book and a little minor Romance for the lead — I like that style romance a lot . I think this was a wonderful setting and writing — and highly recommend it !
Thank-you to Netgalley and Boldwood publishing for this ARC . This is my honest review.
Absolutely love this book! Had me craving lots of cake! First time reading a book by this author and will definitely read more!
This is the third book in the Ivy Lane series of light-hearted romance novels set in Derry, Ireland. There are supporting characters that were the respective protagonists in each of the first two books, but this book works well as a stand-alone story.
Ivy Lane is the charming business community, which serves as a backdrop for Erin Donahue’s personal and professional lives. As a classically trained chef, she is the driving force in revitalizing the kitchen of The Ivy Inn. When a cowardly boyfriend’s betrayal upends her life, she begins to reevaluate her life choices and with the support of her friends chooses to pursue a dream that seemed out-of-reach.
While the storyline addresses the significant issue of low self-esteem engendered by critical, self-centered parents, Erin is not portrayed as a victim so much as a survivor. New opportunities offer her the chance to express her talents and to recognize that the definition of family is not limited to biology.
Overall, this is a quick, entertaining read with some delightful characters (Harry and Flora) and an inspiring message of the courage to be oneself.
My thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is a lovely read set within a gorgeous close knit community in Derry, although this is part of a series I hadn’t read any of the others but this read totally fine as a standalone as each character was provided with enough background to get a feel for them and the dynamics between the characters. This started straight into the action when chef Erin arrives home after a particularly hot and busy shift to find her boyfriend of 3 years has taken his belongs and left their home with not a word or hint as to why. Feeling confused and distraught the next day she’s left further reeling when she sees a for sake sign being erected on the local bakery that’s been a long term fixture in the area. Although Erin was an emotional yo-yo I loved her inner strength and the local residents including her close friends were all brilliant, there’s a good bit of soul searching but plenty of uplifting moments in this gorgeously warm Irish read.
Don't Stop Believing...
This is a cute, small town that is full of charm story. It will feel you full of warmth. This story features Erin and Ivy Lane. When Erin's boyfriend just ups and leaves without any word, Erin won't let herself wallow in self pity for every long. She is going to go and set out and find herself and along the way the whole town of Ivy Lane.
You will fall in love with all the characters in this story. They will charm you.
It is always great to see a town come together and find love.
What an absolutely lovely book. I hadn’t read any other books about Ivy Lane before but that really didn’t matter. Erin Donohue is the Head Chef at the Ivy Inn and lives with boyfriend Aaron. She comes home one night after a shift and finds that Aaron has gone, taking all of his belongings with him. She then decides that she’s not going to wallow in self pity, and with her fabulous friends, she embarks on a new adventure. This didn’t just focus on Erin but on all the residents of Ivy Lane. My favourite characters had to be Flora and Harry, although they were all great ~ except for Aaron! There is a real sense of community, looking out for each other and romance. Left me feeling warm inside and wanting to visit there! Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC.
