The Lumen Caligo: Fallen by Lawrence C. Cobb
Lumen Caligo #1

A man sits on the beach contemplating his life…and what he has left behind…then goes home and finds a baby on his doorstep. Checking under the baby’s blanket her realizes this is a child HE needs to nourish and care for and then…suddenly eleven years have passed and the man on the beach is attending the eleven-year-old child’s graduation from middle school. What transpired in those years? What will happen next?

This well written, intricately plotted, story with a mythology and world that is ours but contains elements of humans unmet is…intriguing. I can see that YA readers would be quickly enchanted and wish to find out more about Cyrus and what his life holds in store for him.

This story has well-crafted characters that I was able to relate to and a world that has enough in common with today to feel “real” but provide a touch of mystery, magic, and fantasy. I have a feeling that those reading this will find one character, or more, to identify with and will feel compelled to continue reading this series as there is definitely a cliffhanger of an ending to this book.

I won’t give details away but will say that I stayed up till 2:30am last night reading and though I typically avoid YA fiction…this book grabbed me and would not let me go. There are some questions I still have but that often happens with cliffhanger endings so do hope that the next book will answer my questions.

Thank you to NetGalley and ArchwayPublishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Whoa, The Lumen Caligo by Lawrence C. Cobb had me hooked from the very first page! Imagine a world where people have wings, and there's this super rare guy called the Lumen Caligo with both white and black wings. He's like a superhero peacekeeper, but then he disappears, leaving behind this mysterious 'Isolation Order.' It's like something out of a movie!

I couldn't put this book down because I had to know what happened next. The author takes you on a wild ride through time and nations, and it's all so vivid and exciting. The best part is that it all starts on a sunset beach in California with this guy who has no idea he's about to change the world. If you want a thrilling adventure with a touch of mystery and fantasy, The Lumen Caligo is the book you need to read!
