I love Sarah’s writing style. It is so easy to become engrossed in each of her Characters and their individual stories. Due to a messy Divorce Molly and her children have to move away from their family and friends to find a home and business that she can afford. After initial difficulties they settle into a lovely local community. There are problems along the way and I believe that you will enjoy reading about them as much as I did.
This was such a cute little story to get you into the mood for the fall season! I highly recommend if you’d like a light read that just makes you feel good, I highly recommend!
Sometimes finding your dream is the way to put your family first. This is the story of a single mom and her children navigating a new life, teen aged angst, feeling left behind when their dad favors his new family over them and the mom finding an unlikely potential love match along with so much more. This story is so unbelievably real that you will fall into it and get lost for hours so make sure you have a bit of time to devote as you embark on the emotional ride this story will take you on! Having once been the child on the receiving end of the "no longer fits into my life" feelings that these children feel towards their father, I can say that it is easy to relate to them even when you think they could use a good spanking or serious time-out. This is my first book to read from Sarah Hope, but it certainly won't be the last! She plots a story vividly and realistically especially when dealing with the insecurities that we all harbor in her characters. The character development was spot on whether you loved or hated the character, you definitely will feel strong emotions towards them as I believe the author fully intended.
Another lovely book by Sarah and nice to have a book about a different subject and with relatable characters. A heart warming story for autumn evenings.
Molly has always wanted to open a craft shop, it not in these circumstances.
Being forced by her ex husband to sell the former family home buying a shop with a flat further away from their hometown is all she catch afford for her and her 2 children, Lauren who is 14 and Ellis who is 9.
Trying to settle the family down and open the shop isn’t going to be an easy task especially when the local policeman seems to have an issue with her
How will she get on ?
Oh, where to start! This book had such good bones, it should have been a fabulous read and I like stories about single parents going through some hard times and then getting their man/woman. This book just didn't quite hit the mark, somehow.
Molly and her kids, Lauren and Ellis, move to a small village after Molly's divorce. Her kids are not happy about having to move, but Molly was unable to afford to buy in their former area (like so many people who divorce, this I understood) and she had been dreaming of owning a craft shop for years. So she opens the Bramble Patch Craft Shop and very soon people are learning to knit in her shop and she thinks that making the big move was worth it. If only she wouldn't keep annoying the local police officer. And if only her kids were settling in as well......
I wanted to like Molly, I really did, but she was SO clueless for a woman who had had kids, gone through a divorce etc. She was well-meaning but wow. From interactions with her ex to chats with her kids, I just wanted to give her a good shake and a talking to. I didn't find Richie all that attractive either. He was nice enough, but I didn't think he had a whole lot of personality either. And, for the love of God, you RIDE a motorbike, you don't drive it. He could have given her the heads-up about that, that was an odd part of the book. I did like the customers of the shop and the way they came together to help out. Bit more of that would have been lovely. The whole book felt a bit unfinished, like the characters weren't fleshed out fully.
Anyway, I wanted to like it more but I found myself getting too frustrated. The ending though, was very nice.
So, 3 stars from me, I'm afraid.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books.
This story warmed my heart and fed my soul.
I loved Molly’s bravado in moving her family to a new town even though her teen daughter Lauren and son Elias are anything but happy about the changes.
While their fresh start is rocky they find their footing and more along the way.
I loved celebrating Molly’s journey as the story unfolded , I laughed cried and cheered as I turned the pages.
after a nasty divorce Molly is forced into selling her home and moving to a small village, with her two children, she starts a craft shop and finds a new love when she least expects it. really sweet book.
This is a heartwarming story that is full of emotions. It's a story about having to start over after a divorce and trying to rebuild your life while dealing with the pain the children are going through. This book holds your attention from the first page until the last.
I received a complimentary copy from Boldwood Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Following her divorce and after her ex forced her, into selling their home, Molly and her two children have moved to a village to start afresh.
She will be setting up a craft shop, but the children aren’t happy about having to live away from everything that was familiar to them.
Molly, after coming back from a trip, has an altercation with the local policeman.
Will Molly and the children be happy in the village?
The story is about what happens when families break up and how this impacts the children, new relationships and making a new start.
I loved the setting and the characters.
I recommend this book.
After her divorce and her ex forcing them to sell the family home Molly and her two children have to move to start a new life in a village, where she is setting up a craft shop. The children are not keen on being uprooted and Molly's life is made more difficult after a run-in with the local policeman. Can they make new lives for themselves?
This is a tale of modern family life, with families split and struggling to make new relationships. It is also about the possibilities of a new start and friendships in the type of small community that I'd certainly love to live in. An easy read, but passed a pleasant few hours enjoying the story.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
Brilliant. A great story showing that romance isn’t just for younger couples. As the description says it is a cozy and uplifting tale. A story about a family starting a new life in a different part of the country, settling into village life and finding love when she is not looking for it. A great easy to read story, recommend this.
A sweet story of how starting over after a divorce and moving to another town can be hard. Finding a new person can work out for the better and create a new family and a new business
Sweet, if slightly predictable story. Loved the craft shop element. All the usual suspects here, annoying ex, amusing but unhappy kids and main character requiring therapy.. Overall enjoyable. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy
This book was an easy read with most characters that were very likable.
Molly moved with her two children after a divorce and selling the family home. She opened a craft shop that she would have to support herself and her children.
Her ex-husband was not a very likable person!
The story line really had no big surprises in it and that made it for me a pleasant way to spend a day.
I have read several other books by Sarah Hope and have enjoyed them all.
Thank you NetGalley, Sarah Hope and Boldwood Books for the ARC of
The Bramble Patch Craft Shop. This is my personal review.
This was a nice and sweet easy read. It was very cozy and I loved the small town and craft shop element. I did think it was a bit of a predictable storyline but still found it overall enjoyable. The ending was very rushed though, I would have liked for this to have been expanded on more.
Nice cosy easy read, i found the main character a little hard to like but the story flowed well, I’ll look for more books by this author for sure for the escapism
A sweet, easy read which I enjoyed apart from the fact the main character was very lame at times and her daughter behaved like a spoiled brat. This did spoil the story a little for me as they irritated me. On the other hand opening a. craft shop in a village would be my idea of heaven. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
A nice book with a predictable but enjoyable storyline. Great characters, a good read all round. If you like cosy rom cons this is for you.
Molly has to move out of the family home due to her cheating husband.
She moves with her 2 children to start a new business in a craft shop so she can look after her kids.
The local policeman seems to have it in for her from the start but soon they become much more but this doesn't go smoothly with the return if his ex wife's constant interference and lies.
