I work in an elementary school and scenes like dreading observations by administration, quick gossip in the faculty lounge and a night out with co-works ring realistic to me. Cary Smith (27) is a 6th grade teacher in a smallish town in Texas and is very good at her job. Her friends are limited to a few co-workers and her next door neighbors. She has a casual ongoing relationship with PE teacher Amy but no one is out and proud as teachers have a vague morals contract clause. Tina, the new kindergarten teacher is catching her eye. A classroom break-in with a warning message has Cary feeling anxious.

This starts strong and tension is building but then it sputters. I enjoyed the realism of the school setting but the daily lesson and lunch chats. Co-worker Daniel comes off as annoying more than being a friend. And when pieces come together the payoff doesn't equal the build up. I don’t want to have spoilers so I won’t list things that may have worked better for me. I liked the writing style especially in the beginning. I also liked Cary but it was hard to sympathize with her. I honestly got a confused becaues often when Cary talks about herself she tells lies but in her mind she reveals the truth to reader. I lost track of what her co-workers knew versus what I knew. But that didn’t really matter in the long run.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

This was ok read.
Cary is a teacher who doesn’t really talk about her past she likes to be invisible she in a on and off again with a fellow colleague Amy that’s is soon ending she is closes to other colleagues to point she goes out to drink with them. When new teacher Tina comes to town her and Tina grow closer but things starts happening. Cary is hiding something that happened why she was a teen even though it’s was in defense and it’s seems someone’s knows even though I don’t get why Cary thinks what she thinks because maybe I read through it fast but I don’t think she did it but someone wants the truth. I can’t wait to read from this author again and although I like the characters even Mr. Dunlap I felt it’s wasn’t suspenseful enough for me that I kinda got bored especially when Cary wasn’t really realizing that maybe it’s had to do with her past until the last minute and when find out who it’s just fell flat I wish it’s had epilogue where Cary finds out what she’s think she did she didn’t.

"I Know About You" had such a promising start that I couldn't help but be excited about where the story was headed. Cary Smith's character was intriguing, and the premise of a forbidden romance in a zero-tolerance environment was ripe with potential. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment as the story progressed.

The plot took unexpected turns, but instead of building tension and suspense, it left me feeling underwhelmed. It was as if the author had set up a grand puzzle but couldn't find the right pieces to fit together. The story seemed to run out of steam as it neared the end, leaving me frustrated.

To make matters worse, there was no real ending. No resolution. It's not that there was a cliffhanger, but rather, it felt like the author just gave up on tying up loose ends. I was left with a sense of dissatisfaction, as if I had invested time in a story that had no payoff.

While the concept had great promise, "I Know About You" didn't fully deliver on its potential. The characters and the plot had the potential for something remarkable, but unfortunately, it fell flat in execution. It's a disappointing read that left me wanting more, not in a good way.

I was very disappointed with this book. From the synopsis I thought it would be more tense and exciting. In some ways it was maybe more true to life but I could not get behind the main character at all. I had no sympathy/empathy for her. (Maybe this is what the author was going for but it didn’t help me enjoy the story). The ending was no better. I felt no one got the comeuppance they deserved. Whether that is because a sequel is planned I don’t know but I won’t be looking out for it.
I do think the book was well written. It kept my attention to some extent although I don’t know if I would have finished it had I not been writing a review.

Was totally inthralled in this book. The ending kinda was just there considering all the was happening was kind of a let down for me.
Loved the storyline and all the characters meshed so well together made turning the pages fast paced.

Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.
