A short story which I believe suitable for toddlers around 3-6 years old. It is about two firends called Isla and Zoe who loves to have fun together by role-playing with costumes. It is a straight forward story and simple to digest. Thank you netgalley for the e-copy. Here's are my thoughts on it.
I thought this was a sweet, cute, and wholesome short read. The illustrations were beautiful, with vibrant colors. They definitely helped set the tone and atmosphere. It’s easy to read and follow along. Any child would enjoy this book.
This is a lovely story about friendship. I also enjoyed seeing the encouragement of imagination and playing make-believe as the little girls dressed up as witches. I loved the autumnal mood it sets, especially with the fall leaves and the forest setting. It is the perfect children’s book for the Halloween season.
It was also fun having an interactive element where you can seek and find certain animals throughout the story. Definitely recommend!

My daughter loved this book! She loves Halloween and said this was “fun spooky”! We loved looking for items in the artwork! Our only complaint is that it was too short!
This is an adorable children's book about two little girls, Isla and Zoe, who love playing dress up. While they like role-playing all kinds of characters, their favourite is to dress up as witches.
The story is charming, and follows the time spent by the girls in the woods as they act out their imaginary life as witches. Along the way, they encounter some animal friends, and there are also games for young readers to play as they are reading the book, which will likely help keep their attention firmly engaged in the storytelling.
The illustrations are very cute, and also appealing to children. But for me, hands down one of the best aspects of this story was that it demonstrated how a child's imagination, when properly activated, can make for wonderful play - without requiring complicated props or (shudder) electronic gadgets!
This was an adorable and fun story showing how creative children can be when using their imaginations. The two little girls are pretending to be little witches and they use their imagination to have fun, enjoy being together and being nice to nature. The colorful and fun illustrations are a great plus to this fun tale. I love how creative this is and perfect for those little ones who think outside the box. Like my daughter not every little girl is all about the princesses and I am so happy to have found a story that shows that each child can dream of whatever they want and to just be themselves.
Thank you to Author Amber J White and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Isla and Zoe love dressing up and playing pretend, being witches is their favourite game in the world. Together they go into the woods to cast some spells using all of their imagination.
This was really sweet I always enjoy books that are brimming with childrens imagination and these two had it, using anything they could to make their game of witches become real. It was adorable they didn’t have anything more than sticks but they’d made wands and brooms and a cauldron and I really loved that.
I loved the addition of the animals on each page that readers had to count, that makes this book so much more interactive and fun to read, having to really search out for each critter as you go through. It’s a book that will get lots of extra attention as children will want to find and count them all.
This is a great book for any child that has a vivid imagination, it’s a sweet story, it’s a perfect Halloween read and it was really enjoyable and easy to read. The animals were really cute and I love the way they were illustrated.
A Tale of Playful Spells and Friendship is the fun story of best friends Isla and Zoe. The girls love to play dress up, and their favorite thing to dress up as is witches! One day, they dress up and go into the forest and play pretend by mixing potions with different things they find in the forest. Even some of the small animals in the forest are curious and come to watch them.
The illustrations in this book are colorful and fun. This is a great story to encourage kids to play imaginary games and nourish creativity. Excellent book, especially with Halloween coming soon!
