This was one of my favorite holiday rom-coms of the season. It was fun and I just fell in love with the characters. A must for your next holiday TBR.

While the plot of this one was far fetched, it was a fun and heartwarming Christmas time read. The characters were lovely!

Kristen Bailey has become the Christmas author to look out for. I find the journey or adventure she takes us on with her mail characters very welcoming. This is probably up there as one of my favorite stories from her.

One Christmas Eve, Eve discovers that her boyfriend is cheating and the Christmas present was an engagement ring from the jewelry story she works at. When she goes to the store, her employers task her and Joe with fixing an error - five gold rings have been sent to the wrong addresses. Eve is tipsy, and Joe is dressed as an elf, but can the two save Christmas?

I thought this was so fun! Very ridiculous, but fun! The audiobook was good.

“Five Gold Rings” by Kristen Bailey
“IT’SSSSSSS KRIST(en)MAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSS!”
…and nobody should argue with the great Noddy Holder.
No matter the time of year, any upcoming new book from the adorable Ms. B is eagerly anticipated by readers – no more so than me – keen to plunge right back into the pages of the wonderful world she weaves for us. The days leading up to publication of her books are like the countdown to the festive season itself; full of expectation, hope and longing for the delights in store.
“Five Gold Rings”, the latest from the mishievious elf-like Kristen, hits every single seasonal note that you could wish for. It is a wonderful tale that would, I am sure, melt the heart of old Ebenezer himself – without the need for visiting ghosts – and set the old miser shouting loudly from his window:
“You boy! What day is this? Christmas Day? Well then, sod the turkey in the butcher’s window, here’s a guinea*, go to the bookshop on the corner and buy every copy of “Five Gold Rings”. Then deliver one book to each household in this parish!”
This is a joyous, warm, tender and, typically Bailey-esque, chaotic tale. Like the best mince pies, it is filled with goodness – a lot of it pleasantly fruity – that leaves you feeling satisfied and full of Christmassy cheer. Ms. Bailey has successfully navigated – like Rudolph and his big red nose lighting Santa’s way – that difficult route between over-egging the pudding and getting the mixture just right. And, like the ever-reliable, festive favourite Nigella, Kristen gets the recipe absolutely spot on.
Eve and Joe, the two characters we end up hoping and wishing the best for, are splendidly realised; not too twee, not too saccharine sweet. They are charming, delightful, poignant and funny. They are two fictional folk we can really invest in and root for. It’s a “will they, won’t they?”, “do they, don’t they?” ride across London as they deliver golden rings to various awaiting couples. Think of Eve and Joe as the Three Wise Men bearing gifts; only there are just the two of them and they have a green Mini instead of camels.
Like Joe, I fell in love head over heels for Eve. I wanted to comfort her, protect her and make everything all right for her. But, as you will find out as you read this tale, the path of love doesn’t always run smoothly.
As I was reading, I found myself thinking this is, perhaps, my most favourite festive read. It has all the right bits and bobs, just enough schmaltzy joy and seasonal trimmings. If this was a dinner laid out for you on the big day itself, it would be absolutely perfect.
I mean, come on! Who doesn’t love a Rom-Com? Especially at this time of year? This book is the pagebound equivalent of “Love Actually”. I am sure that “Five Gold Rings” will become a classic and much-loved festive read for many.
My Christmas wish is that the book gets made into a film. I have already decided who I think would make the ideal Eve on the big (or small) screen. And, I hear you ask above the sound of bells jingling and snow falling, who would that be? It is the super talented and utterly adorable Esther Smith; to my mind she would (to mis-quote a festive tune) be simply wonderful.
I found this book to be magical. Like gaily wrapped packages on Christmas morning, I tore through this book with gusto. My only quibble was, as with Christmas Day itself, it was all over far too soon and I now have to wait for my next fix of Ms. B’s delights.
And, the fabulous Ms. Bailey – any relation to George Bailey? – really made this “a wonderful life read” with the inclusion of my favourite Callaghan sister. Thank you, Ms. B!
Heck, how I do love Lucy!
So, if you have been good little boys and girls, and if Santa has brought you some gift vouchers, a book token or, even some of that old-fashioned stuff called cash, why not treat yourself – or a loved one? – to this delightful and warming Christmassy treat.
Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas to one and all.
(* A guinea may not be enough to buy every copy.)

I absolutely loved the plot of this book, I think it would be amazing to watch as a movie as well! This book had me smiling but also crying for Eve. Its a perfect holiday book, but I did find the chemistry between Joe and Eve to be a little flat and average. It's hard to believe that Eve would fall so in love with Joe that same night the love of her life is found cheating on her.

All in all, I enjoyed the book, but it was a little hard to take seriously at times!

Cute holiday read. I had a little bit of a hard time getting into it but once it got going I was hooked. The concept of the different rings and storylines associated with those rings is fascinating. Perfect little holiday romance.

This is a fun and cute holiday version of a classic roadtrip book. I liked how the lost rings were the plot driver, and felt the writing was very sweet. Of someone was looking for a easy holiday themed romance, I would recommend this one!

Another brilliant book from one of my favourite authors. I love how previous characters pop up in each book. This was a book that had that feel good, cute, happy, heartwarming vibe and a great festive read.

A fun holiday book with great characters that had me invested. Closed door style, so not much spice, but had some cute humor that made up for it.

Many thanks to Dreamscape Select, Storm Publishing, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC/ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Ugh! I wanted to like Kristen Bailey's Five Gold Rings, but in the end, it was not my vibe.

Five Gold Rings has a cute premise and seems fun, but, in the end, this book was a struggle. The characters were not fleshed out and lacked depth. I did not feel any connection between Joe and Eve. This book is marketed to be hilarious, and I'll admit there were some funny moments, but then some of it fell flat.

🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love all of Kristin Baileys books - she is one of my favourite authors when it comes to humour and romance books and this one was no different, it did not disappoint.

It was just such a cute story 🤩

A funny, heartwarming story about love and friendship at Christmas time.

The book isn't deep, it isn't thought provoking, it isn't profound -
But it is the perfect escapism.
It is a pure, simple easy read that I guarantee you will most definately enjoy.

I loved it!

It's a hug in a book 🥰❤️

4 very deserving stars from me!

So I'm a fan of Christmas romances but I'm always very critical of friends-to-lovers romances, few romances with this kind of trope have really appealed to me.
This book starts very quickly with Eve discovering her boyfriend's betrayal.
I liked that the author took time to describe Eve's feelings about this betrayal, her sadness, anger etc.

In her book, the author juggles between the clichés of Christmas, marriage proposals, periods of humor, and the sad times that the holidays can also bring.
The friends-to-lovers romance is calm and sweet, but I would have liked a little more at the end of the book, as I was left wanting more.

In short, this is an enjoyable Christmas romance to read and have a good time, even if I wasn't 100% convinced by the love story.

I absolutely loved this book and will be adding other titles from the author to my reading pile after writing this review. I laughed a lot and loved the plot. It is the perfect festive read to read in the run up to Christmas or at any time of the year.

It has likeable characters, and one who you really want to punch hard for all the hurt that he has caused. Highly recommended if you're looking for a funny, festive read to get you in the mood for Christmas.
