This is a good book. The two main characters are Sasha and Aaron. Sasha is a singer and a college student. Sasha best friend is Ava who is Aaron’s sister. There is an instant attraction when they meet. The first time they see each other is when Aaron goes to see Sasha at a concert. Sasha’s mother and Father are kidnapped. Aaron hires a private investigator. Sasha father’s best friend helps in finding her parents. Sasha an Aaron fall in love.
Sasha Turner does have a secret, by day she is a student but dressed up and incognito is Ember Noir. When Sasha finishes singing one night, she runs into a handsome stranger who she can’t resist kissing. Sasha tells her best friend Ava about the mysterious handsome stranger that she kissed but when Ava introduces Sasha to her brother, Mr. Aaron Classic. Sasha realizes the handsome stranger and Ava’s brother is the same guy that she allowed to kiss her. Aaron knows there is something about Sasha but knows even though he is interested in her can’t have her because she is Ava’s best friend. As Aaron gets to know Sasha, he can’t avoid her. Sasha to is also falling in love with Aaron and ends up pregnant. Then Sasha’s dad and her family have a horrible secret on top of the pregnancy will Aaron still want her?
I really liked reading this contemporary love story because it had one of my favorite tropes best friend's brother even though it seems to be used all the time. The story did start out good but as it progressed it almost became bland and a bit boring. Of course, the kidnapping and suspense did make things interesting even though it was a bit predictable though and things are easily resolved. That I did at times want to read anything else because of this. I wanted more mystery and more suspense which I wasn’t going to get. I liked Sasha when she Ember and Aaron were trying to figure out who she was. Aaron didn’t really win me over. Sure, he was a good guy, but he seemed almost one-dimensional. The romance between Ava and Mason sounds better and more intriguing. So, of course I will read that one though.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
The writing is top notch and the storyline kept me engaged. Tho predictable at times, but definitely one solid entertaining read for me, for sure.
Scarlett Score's 'Forbidden Billionaire Daddy' is a passionate and intricate forbidden love story. The novel's emotional rollercoaster and complex relationships keep readers interested. The characters' chemistry and connection produce a maelstrom of desires and entanglements balanced by loyalty. It reveals mysteries of forbidden love and sacrifice. Uneven pacing and odd character placements interrupt the storyline. The novel has potential, telling a story of love, sacrifice, and forgiveness that transcends its flaws.
Forbidden Billionaire Daddy is a quick and sexy, forbidden romance story. There are so many tried and true tropes in this story. The sexy shenanigans that ensue after Sasha accidentally kisses her best friends sexy brother and then ghosts him has just the right amount of pining and taboo.
While the premise of this book was so amazing and the plot had such promise, this book fell short for me. I think it is a great short taboo romance, but the writing was very abrupt for my tastes. I could never tell when the characters were daydreaming, dreaming or if what was happening was actually happening. In the novel's defense I tend to not like male MC that are as playboy "Gods" and have what seemed like zero empathy, this is a personal preference.
Very quick read. A great pick if able to get on Kindle Unlimited. Has the element of best friends brother and the forbidden love.
Jumped right into things and felt a little confused at first.
Not sure the kidnapping was needed.
Overall a decent read.
This was a really quick read for me and I found I was able to read in just a few short hours.
I did enjoy this book but felt that it was missing something, i felt it could have done with some more fluff.
Sasha aka Ember Noir is a singer who draws the attention of Aaron who is actually her best friends brother.
Sasha doesn’t find this out until she is put in danger and needs to stay with her friend Ava at the house she shares with her brother.
Sasha is conflicted with her attraction to Aaron and Aaron is a well known playboy who has finally met his match. After a forbidden kiss, Aaron is captivated by Sasha.
I don’t feel that the kidnapping plot really added all that much to the story overall.
Overall a quick read and the plot was fairly predictable but still enjoyable none the less.
Thank you to Netgalley, the Author and the Publisher for an eARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Forbidden Billionaire Daddy is a best friend's brother romance story.
Two persons, or at least that's what Sasha wants the world to see:
Ember Noir is all sultry, sexy and extrovert, loving the exposure whilst singing on stage -
Sasha, the every day life persona is the student who keeps her head down and gets on with work and life.
Meeting and making out with a really hot guy as Ember, to then realise he's the brother of your best friend? It definitely creates some complications especially when you find yourself sharing the home of your friend and her brother.
Not entirely believable - what was it with the kidnapping bit?? - but still an enjoyable read especially if you van pick it up on Kindle Unlimited.
Quick Summary: An insta-love, "situationship" romance
My Review: Forbidden Billionaire Daddy: A Best Friend's Brother Romance by Scarlett Score was a mixed bag read. There were a lot of moving parts to this NA romance which made the book both interesting and unbelievable at the same time.
About the Book: Ember Noir aka Sasha was quite the entertainer. After a rather titillating event performance, she drew the attention of Aaron Classic, a renowned playboy and entertainment businessman. As soon as their lips touched, sparks flew. Unfortunately, multiple challenges prevented them from getting together.
Question to Consider: Will Sasha and Aaron ever have the chance to see how far their situationship can go, or are they destined to lose what could have been?
About the Characters: Sasha, Aaron, and Ava all came across as young and immature much of the time. It often seemed at odds with what they were trying to convey at other times. Mason was more controlled and steady, overall. The other pop up surprise characters were peculiarly placed -- not all, just some. One such character placement was incredibly odd; it didn't fit into the situation at all, yet it was used to create distance. It altered the flow irrevocably.
My Final Say: This novel had a fairly reasonable premise, however, the delivery of the story was uneven, clunky, and inconsistent. The beginning started strong, then an abrupt shift occurred that caused a hiccup with the transition. This could also be seen when the first major conflict happened. The pace continually shifted and seemed at odds with everything else going on. Unfortunately, this was observed throughout. With that said, the bare bones in this book have just enough details to really have something with potential. While I enjoyed the book somewhat, I feel like it needs a bit more development. There is definitely something there though.
Rating: 2.5/5 (rounded up)
Audience: Marketed to NA
Series: Based on the dangling thread associated with Ava and Mason, I would venture to say that another novel may be coming down the wire.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
A big thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a best-friends brother, insta-love romance. It is pretty unbelievable but I still thought it was fun. I liked the main characters. Ava is an amazing friend. The whole kidnapping thing was really out there, I just didn't think it added that much to the story. It is a very quick read. 3 stars
