I loved this book!! It was fabulous and well done. The characters were on point and I thought the plot was well developed. I would recommend this book to others.
The Wrong Guy is a relatively fast paced small town romance between two likeable enough characters. I know thats not the most positive review but its a good book, just maybe a little too heavy on small town building contracts and other peoples stories. I would have liked to hear more about Wren and Ford actually, it almost felt like they were side characters in their own story.
Wren and Jessie are the absolute perfect team. They will home allies trying to save their town and Wren will finally succumb to the feelings she never thought were possible. This book was absolutely hilarious and Lauren will make you laugh all the way through as Wren and Jessie navigate the next step in their relationship.
This is the second book of the Cold Springs series, but can easily be read as a standalone. Wren is a city attorney and Jesse is a construction worker. They have nothing in common, but work really well together as friends with benefits. Wren secretly wants more out of the relationship, but Jesse doesn't want to settle down. On his side, Jesse is completely in love with Wren, but he's just a construction worker, and she is an attorney, way out of his league. He believes there could never be a future for them. Miscommunication between the two results in the wrong assumptions. But when Wren's aunt and uncle are divorcing and ultimately the whole town is affected , Jesse and Wren work together to protect the people of the town they love so much. Together, they realize they make a great team, in more ways than one.
I found this to be a well-written romcom with plenty of sizzle and romance and of course comedy, that kept me smiling along. The banter between the two was fun to read. I also enjoyed getting to know Jesse and Wren and following their relationship and see it blossom into something more. A really fun and enjoyable read!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and Montlake and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This was a really good book with humour, great chemistry between the characters and it was a quick read for me since I started and finished it in less than one day.
So if you are looking for a quick read that is a good rom-com then this might be the book for you.
I have never before read anything by Lauren Landish and after this one I will definitely read more by her.

Wren and Jesse are the IT couple, only no one knows it. They have a friends-with-benefits relationship, but when Wren wants more Jesse pulls away.
Several years later, Wren is asked to help an out-of-town attorney with a high-profile case. Jesse began to see what he had wanted and had been missing all along. As the case progresses, Wren learns more than she should but knows who is in the wrong. She also spends more time with Jesse and knows that is where she is meant to be.
This story is filled with a little mystery, suspense, and a lot of steaminess and fun. You will not want to stop reading. I enjoyed this story and look forward to more from this author.

This is the second in the series, and whilst you would definitely have more backstory if you had read the first one, you could still enjoy this as a standalone and then go back.
Wren is part of the Ford clan, but works hard to be her own person after the bad reputation of her uncle and his impact on her father in the past. So it is more difficult than one might imagine, especially when her loathsome uncle decides to divorce his wife, and there is a lot of drama around that event. It has an impact on a big housing project, and potentially on the livelihood of her 'friend-with-benefits' building contractor Jesse.
These two are super cute when together, and clearly meant for each other, but Wren is so busy establishing her career and taking on a leadership role at work, and Jesse feels that she deserves better than a builder who works for her uncle. It is entertaining watching it all play out – I could have done with less about Chrissy and her divorce demands, but it does enable a bit of legal complexity to be brought into the story, and a lawyer who develops an interest in Wren.
Unexpectedly, Wren also improves her understanding of her father, and the family is stronger for the revelations in this book.
Really enjoyable romantic read.
I really enjoyed this - Ford and Wren's chemistry was excellently written and I loved going back to Cold Springs, the cast of characters is amazingly written!
Fairly predictable rom com but it was still a good read that I enjoyed it. It was also a quick read.
This read, which is apart of a series, is a cute, friends to lovers read. I enjoyed that there were familiar characters that make appearances and the dynamics of the main characters was intriguing and enjoyable. I really also liked how quirky some of the side characters are and the cozy small town feeling you find in this book.
Well this book starts off in your face and I while it said Prologue I was wondering what I missed to start off so, so very spicy. Whoa. This is the second book in the Cold Springs series and I am invested. Wren and Jesse are a couple I am rooting for, the blue collar worker and the city lawyer trying to save jobs and the town. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more in the series.
The second book in this series has Wren Ford the city attorney having to deal with an out-of-town high priced and thinking he knows everything attorney because of a divorce case and it deals with city land. Jesse Sullivan is a construction foreman and also a Wren stress reliever and now their friends with benefits have been put on hold because of this case and of this attorney. Everyone in town knows that they are together even though they think they have been keeping it a secret but small towns and all. Yet Jesse wants more but does not think he is what she wants, he thinks she wants fancy clothes and a car. See what happens. A really good ending. A good book with good characters.
I love Wren and Jesse. I could read about their adventures forever! This book was so good. I couldn't get enough of them. 5 stars.
I just reviewed The Wrong Guy by Lauren Landish. #TheWrongGuy #NetGalley

Cold Springs is a small town where the locals all know everything there is to know about one another. I loved the first instalment with Hazel and Wyatt and now their respective siblings get their own chance at a HEA. This small town romance had plenty of spice, as well as some mystery, drama all leading to a very explosive finish.
Jesse and Wren had a great friends with benefits situation going until miscommunication about how they truly felt about one another led to them spend the past year apart. Now they must work together to stop a nasty divorce between a powerful local couple from tearing down the township they are trying to build to keep Cold Springs thriving. Along the way, they discover that they may have been onto something in the past and are just what the other needs. I loved this small town romance, an absolute winner.
I think the whole concept is meant to be outlandish. Quirky characters and comedy, sitcom-like misunderstandings, the sex is meant to be spicy -- even the opening montage is a very in-your-face moment. I understand how this can work for some, but it was a tad too obvious and juvenile for me. Overall, it was a 2-3 star read.
Jesse and Wren were friends with benefits until it became much more but little do they know that the other felt more and just the same until it went sideways. Now months later Wren is on a huge case for her township and a new lawyer joins in the fray which has Jesse seeing red. He has his doubts, what would a smart driven high class woman who is a lawyer, want with a blue collar man like him. Wren has rebuilt her shields and only one man can break through them but she’s not willing to give him another chance, believing she’s one of many and didn’t mean anything to him. But he breaks them down and just in time as a battle is about to ensue and they need each other to save their town and bring back order.
A great read with steam, laugh out loud moments, surprises, second chances and great characters. I liked these two, a bit of drama but not over the top and once all is cleared…watch out…these two are combustible and meant to be with each other. I LOVED how strong Wren was but also vulnerable with Jesse and how Jesse was not intimated by Wren, standing by her side no matter what. LOVED the ending and all who deserved it, karma got them.

I always enjoy Lauren Landish books! This one was super fun and emotional!
Wren Ford is the city attorney for Cold Springs—a job she takes seriously. She used to have a friends-with-benefits arrangement with the well-muscled and very attentive construction worker Jesse Sullivan, but decided to end things with him because she secretly craves more.
Jesse is head over heels in love with Wren, but he what would an attorney and out-of-his-league goddess want with him? Especially when a flirty, cocky lawyer who screams money and power shows an interest in Wren. As a scandalous high-profile split escalates from name-calling to corporate takeovers, Wren and Jesse must team up to find a way to protect the people and the town they love.
I have to say that I wasn’t a fan of Wren in the first few chapters. She is so focus in no messing things with Jesse that she was almost cruel with him. Then we can see why she is that way and be part of their dynamics. I love that there’s so much chemistry between them and a bit of longing too. The corporate lawyer was a great addition to the story. The best part: the sexy times. SUPERB. So good!
The characters are deep and caring, it has many funny moments and great internal dialogs. It’s well written and engaging. A spicy romance with a lot of small-town vibes.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I went back and forth quite a few times before giving this book a solid 2 stars. Mostly because I felt a bit misled by the book's description. It stated it's a friends-with-benefits romance when, in reality, it's more of a second chance romance. Even then, the romance kind of fell flat on me. There were very few meaningful romantic scenes between the main leads that just made it hard to believe that they were indeed in love with each other. While I'm not against spicy scenes in a book, in this one it felt like they were used to makeup for the lack of romantic scenes that actually portray the love between the main leads. Another ick for me was the way the book starts with a spicy scene but then leaves the reader to figure out how the main leads went from cuddling in bed together to not speaking to each other. It just threw me for a loop and not in a good way.
I did find the characters enjoyable, and the writing was good as well, with some very witty quips that I thoroughly loved but I wish the book had done justice to the expectations it had set.
Wren loves being a lawyer in Cold Springs. She is looking forward to being the big boss soon but first she has to survive the divorce of her uncle and aunt because it is turning the whole town upside down. Jesse is crazy about Wren. He thought they were starting a relationship last year but then she suddenly cut him loose. He's a patient man so he's sure that someday they will be together. His career is directly affected by the divorce, but he is determined to keep his crew working even through the ups and downs. Will they finally find love together even though the whole town is being turned upside down?
Wren is driven to succeed. She works so hard to save the town. I like that she is willing to learn and grow throughout the story. I really like Jesse. He is a good guy who loves the work he does in construction, and he's dedicated to keeping his crew working. I thought his determination to be with Wren almost bordered on unhealthy but in the end it was sweet. There are lots of side characters in this story. The crazy divorce story ends up being a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the conclusion.
This is a contemporary small-town romance. There is a lot of girl power in the story. I will read more from this author in the future.
Jesse and Wren were once a couple having a casual relationship with lots of sexy times. Unfortunately they grew a part. Will these two get a second chance at love. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written with tension, twists, humor and plenty of emotion. Jesse and Wren had lots of chemistry and were great together. The story was well-written and well-developed. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend!

This one has a bit of everything we have slow burn, second chance Romance, And such a beautiful sapphic romance by Lauren Landish that you just can't put down. I love the characters and couldn't wait to see what would come next….. There is a laundry list of amazing characters in this one
Suspenseful, Sexy, Smart, Sweet, some very funny moments will have you laughing out loud, then there were a few Silly moments thrown in as well. All in all, a very Satisfying read! (Ok, enough of the S-words). Oh, we had bit of a Mystery going on as well.
Truthfully, the little town of Cold Springs
stole my heart!
Cold Springs's citizens are bursting with personality, the characters and the small town they call home are so beautifully depicted, I feel like I have truly been there!
Wren and Jesse Sizzle! Well, when they finally start Communicating…
(Alright, I'm done. I promise this time!) But this little town is a dichotomy. On the surface is the quaint little tourist town out in the middle of nowhere... Many of its citizens families have lived there for generations. Everyone knows everyone, and everyone is up in everyone else's business. Like the stereotypical small town……. You’ll see how the citizens of this quaint little town will fight for its survival…. And I just loved that Aspect of the story.
Oh, did I mention the fact that there is high-profile Divorce that might Throw a wrench into this couple’s romance
Come on what small town doesn’t have Lil drama thrown into the mist?
Jed and Chrissy’s divorce is the talk of the town. There’s even an unofficial newsletter with updates and theories……. Tell me this isn’t Small town gossip at its finest. Can't wait to read the next one in this series!
