Unique idea
This book had a fascinating premise that hooked me, and I stayed for the interesting lessons about love and forgiveness. I enjoyed some of the twin hijinks. There were swoony kisses, definitely PG-13, but still closed-door.
I really enjoyed this book! It was a captivating read that held my attention from start to finish. The story was well-paced, and the characters felt real and engaging. I’m grateful to the publisher for providing an early copy—it was a pleasure to read!
This was a cute story. The communication breakdown between the main characters did get frustrating. It was overall an enjoyable read.
Spoiler: Can we maybe communicate more? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
Okay, hear me out. The premise of the book was amazing. It started off really well, and I really enjoyed the idea of hypnotherapy. It was such an interesting idea and I wish we could have gotten to see more of it.
And then the miscommunication started. The main characters were all adults, but acting like teenagers. God knows, at 24 you still don't have your life figured out, but it seemed to be that the characters might have been better off written like teens. It would have made the story a bit more enjoyable and probably would have made me cringe a bit less. If their ages had not been mentioned, I could have sworn they were in college.
Her relationship with Mason was another bit that I really enjoyed at the start, then kind of just became annoyed by. At the beginning, the friends to lovers dynamic was very fun and they had great chemistry. But as the story progressed, it became clear that the only issue was miscommunication. He made a mistake, she made a mistake, and instead of talking about it, she just cut all ties with him.
I did enjoy Savannah's relationship with her twin sister. They were such typical twins, and it was always a pleasure seeing them interact.
Still, it was a nice book overall and I had a good time reading some of it.
This zero spice level enemies to lovers romance was on that I was so excited to read. I have loved Wilson's other books for the most part but this one just fell apart for me. The first part of the book was ok at best but the least part of the book was just a mess for me.
I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
This book was gripping and hard to put down. It didn't feel like everything else you see out there, it felt very fresh. I really enjoyed this book!
Hypnotized by Love by Sariah Wilson is a charming and delightful romance novel that captivates from start to finish. The story revolves around hypnotist Savannah Sinclair and her high school rival, Mason Beckett, whose unexpected reunion leads to a series of amusing and heartfelt events. Wilson skillfully weaves together the themes of love, humor, and personal growth in a way that keeps readers thoroughly engaged.
The dynamic between Savannah and Mason is beautifully written, and their interactions are filled with witty banter and genuine emotion. Wilson's portrayal of Mason's transformation under hypnosis is both entertaining and endearing, as he navigates newfound fearlessness and vulnerability. The resulting escapades and heartfelt moments make for a truly enjoyable read.
Furthermore, the novel's exploration of self-discovery and the power of vulnerability adds depth to the storyline, making it a compelling and relatable romance. Hypnotized by Love is a lighthearted yet touching tale that will leave readers thoroughly enchanted and rooting for the protagonists until the very end.
we started out strong in this one. I even was loved learning about hypnotherapy and wanting to know more. It was even one of my fave tropes; enemies to lovers! But then about 1/2 way it just tanked.
The whole reason why they were enemies was seriously so immature and high school that they probably should have been closer aged to high school, except they were grown adults. They didn’t talk for 6 yrs and he acts like she walks on water when she literally was the worst to him? Also it fell short when the reveal happened and it just kind of got swept under the rug like it didn’t matter but then all the sudden it mattered again, like what. I did like the slight banter the FMC & MMC had between each other but that was really it.
It definitely started out with so much promise and I was sad that it didn’t deliver. It just felt rushed and unfinished at the end.
2 stars for me.
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC.
I could not finish this book in time for me to return it. I attribute that to two things: 1. The characters did not pull me in from the get-go. 2. The writing style wasn’t one that made me jump from word to word to gobble down the book with excitement. I will most likely still try to finish this book at some time in my life. But for now it was not attention grabbing enough to suck me in and keep me there. Thank you for allowing me to read this book, I will for sure give Sariah Wilson another shot.
The miscommunication trope was too much for me. So this took me forever to finish because all I wanted to do was knock some sense into these characters. I did enjoy the banter between the FMC and MMC and that’s what got me through finishing.
I might be a rare romance reader, but I don’t mind the miscommunication trope. In a world of girlies who complain about it, I’m usually fine with it as long as it furthers the plot. But when it’s used over and over and over again in one book, I have to throw up my hands and ask why.

📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Standalone
📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: Audiobook on Kindle. Single narrator. 🆓 on KU to read & listen.
📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: Contemporary romance
📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Enemies-to-lovers, female friendship, he’s loved her all along.
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Savannah is a hypnotherapist on thin ice with her accreditation board. When Mason, a former crush turned enemy, waltzed into her office to write an article on hypnosis, she tries to keep old feelings from resurfacing.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I picked up this book for the plot and the author - she’s new to me, but I read and liked a novella she published earlier this year and wanted to dig in a bit more. Overall, though, this was a bit of a let down.
The biggest issue of all was the female main character. She was super emotional - and for someone who is supposed to be a therapist, it seemed completely out of character. Her emotions led to her jumping to conclusions, and not one or two but at least four instances of miscommunication drama. It was tiring, especially toward the end.
The concept was cute, but it felt like it was missing a lot. I wish there was more on hypnosis. I wish there was more spice. I wish Savannah was just a little more patient with the characters around her. It all just fell flat for me.
𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐
𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹: 2/5 🌶🌶
I liked the story involving the look-a-like twins and their closeness. Having experienced similar friendship and love of one in the past, they may look similar but are different inside! This story shows that closeness and their differences and so the story proceeds with perilous love with old love, Mason. It was annoying how Savannah couldn't listen to an explanation but romance can win out with strong love...
I enjoyed the first part of this book and the hypnosis angle was really unique and different. But the characters, especially the fmc, are very immature and I found myself skimming and rolling my eyes toward the end at the miscommunication and crazy decisions she made. Overall, this one just wasn't for me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book was pretty good, but I found myself a little bored towards the middle. The main character was a little unrelatable and annoying at times, but overall, it was a pretty solid read.
I did not enjoy this books as much as I thought I would. I could not connect with the main characters. This book was just not for me.
Sometimes things work out when they’re supposed to…
I really enjoyed this friends-enemies-lovers story. Savannah’s profession as a hypnotherapist was especially intriguing. She’s reeling from a troll trying to trash her reputation online and ends up getting her on probation with her profession’s governing body. At the same time, she ends up crossing paths with Mason, her old crush and nemesis. The hurt feeling rise to the surface. Overcoming the mistrust, the hurt and figuring out the “why” of their friendship falling apart, was not an easy journey for Savannah.
Thankfully, Mason knows what he wants….
This was such a good romcom. I loved how different the storyline was and the chemistry between the two leads!
Savannah is a hypnotist who believes in helping people. Mason, her childhood friend turned enemy, is a failed writer who returns to their hometown to write an article about how bogus hypnotism is. Savannah and Mason’s story was adorable and I loved their snarky banter. A solid 3 star read- entertaining but not super memorable for me
Hypnotist Savannah is known to help people overcome their deepest phobias, addictions, and mental health. Mason is tasked with writing a review over Savannah's business and it requires him to get involved. In the middle of their session the fire alarm cuts their session short. Mason finds himself to be far more positive and open.
This had such a different vibe to what I was expecting. I haven't read a romcom before which surrounds itself with hypnotism so that was really interesting. The main characters had some really fun banter and their chemistry came together really nicely. This was a very quick read after getting sucked in and was just a cute read altogether.
Bonus points for the mental health representation
