Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the chance to read this book.

This is a best friends to lovers type of storyline with added drama. Savannah and Mason grew up together, and their mothers have been trying to pair them up for years. They were best friends and possibly going to be more until teenage insecurities and a big misunderstanding got in the way.
After managing to avoid him for 6 years, Savannah thought her attraction would have lessened but is proven wrong when Mason returns and she is forced to spend time with him.

The story is entertaining, although it did take a bit to get to the reason why Savannah was harbouring such hard feelings towards Mason. The way her thoughts circled around was mildly frustrating, but once we got past that point, I really enjoyed the rest of the story.

Firstly, thank you for the ARC. It's a bit of shame to have had two pretty low rated books in the month of April. But it's bound to happen, especially when you're reading cute quick rom-coms. I hope to be a bit more selective in the month of May!

A few years back I read The Paid Bridesmaid, and earlier I read her short story in the Meet-Cute series (which I really enjoyed). I have to say I was pretty disappointed in this one. I don't know why but it was giving me Meg Cabot vibes. Now, there's nothing wrong with Meg Cabot's writing, but I will say Meg Cabot's demographic is YA. So it was a bit weird to read this book, and feel like these grown adults (late 20s/early 30s, don't entirely remember their exact age) act so immature, I found myself being a bit annoyed.

The main character, Savannah, was especially immature. She acted like a teenager who's always throwing tantrums and running away from her problems. While I did like the MMC, Mason, he wasn't enough to save the story. I felt like this story was lacking a lot of substance. Definitely a no for me! 2.75 stars

I was really excited to read this but it just fell flat for me. I found both the main characters to be annoying and immature and because of this I found it hard to connect with the story. I thought the misunderstanding and reason for the falling out to be ridiculous.

Sariah Wilson, the Author of “Hypnotized by Love” has written a captivating, witty, and delightful novel. The Genres for this book are Contemporary Romance, Fiction, Adult Literature, Chick Lit and Rom-Com. This book is the perfect prescription after reading heavy dark reads, for an entertaining and enjoyable novel.

The author describes her colorful and dramatic characters as complex, complicated, quirky, and flawed. There are two adult twin sisters living at home in order to save for each’s place. Savannah Sinclair is a Hypnotist that helps patients overcome anxiety, and addiction. Some skeptics question her approach. Her sister Sierra is an emergency nurse, and they are close.

A former neighbor, Mason, a writer, and former boyfriend that stood her up for a dance many years ago. Mason will be writing about Hypnotism. Mason is a skeptic of hypnotism, but convinces Savannah to hypnotize him. Savannah is still angry and hurt by him, but does remain professional. That is, until a Fire Alarm causes the session to be interrupted, and Savannah is unable to complete the session. What do you think of the power of suggestion?

What follows is amazing, and I highly recommend and encourage you to read “Hypnotized by Love”

Hypnotised by Love is an interesting romance book. I love the romance part and I also loved the lessons on communication and forgiveness. The book also shed more light on hypnosis as a form of therapy. Thank you, Netgalley for giving me the ARC in exchange for my honest review

I was no hypnotized by this book. I didn't really care for any of the characters, the plot kinda felt all over the place, and kinda really hate how so many clean romances I read have this side plot of grooming a teenager, and i honestly really hated how that was handled in this book and it made me dislike the FMC so much more... Anyway. This was an ARC review, thanks netgalley.

In high school Savannah and Mason were best friends destined for something more, but Mason blew it when he embarrassed Savannah in front of the whole town. She hasn't spoken to him since. Now they are both back in their hometown and their paths keep crossing. Savannah is a hypnotist and skeptic Mason wants to write an article about the reality of hypnotism. After a series of comical events, they end up spending more and more time together, but despite enjoying his company Savannah can't get over what happened in high school.

This book is just a joy to read. Mason and Savannah are such likeable characters and you really can root for everyone. Savannah's tendency to put blinders on was very relatable even when it drove me crazy. A cute rom-com to make you laugh and warm your heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC of Hypnotized by Love.

Savannah Sinclair and Mason Beckett hate each other, but do they?

Overall, I really enjoyed their story, I especially loved how much Mason loved her. He made me swoon over and over again. I loved him. Sariah did a great job in building his charater. They were a super cute couple and I loved them together!

Thank you so much NetGalley and Montlake for this ARC.

Hypnotherapy is nothing like I imagined. At least, not as portrayed in this story. Savannah’s foibles, alas, are all too common in romantic fiction. For instance, I knew as soon as Savannah and Mason started to become friends exactly what was going to happen to ruin that friendship and trust because that oh-so-predictable-thing ALWAYS happens. It’s like watching a horror movie and screaming at the young teenaged bubble head, “Don’t go in that room,” but she does, and the slasher is in there with a knife and then we have to watch her gasp for air a half dozen times before letting out the hair-raising scream that got her hired.

Anyway, back to predictable… Savannah and Mason have a second chance together, even though winning back trust is always hard to do. A bit painful at times. Sariah Wilson won’t let down the reader, so the book is worth reading. She wrote Savannah as an angry woman, yet a little vulnerable. Savannah makes some questionable decisions (not as bad as visiting a slasher, never fear) and some of those lead to the predictable moments. Still, I give this four stars because it was enjoyable.

Not my favorite Sariah Wilson book, but I did like the beginning of the story. It just wasn't my favorite. I don't know if I just didn't connect with the characters, but for me it was just an ok read. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Hypnotized by Love

writing: very mid | plot: okay | ending: rushed | 2.5 rounded up

Format: Kindle (ARC)
Rating: ⭐⭐.5 it was ok
Spice rating: 🌶️

Savannah, our FMC, was an interesting character, especially with her background as a hypnotherapist. When Mason came back into her life, it added an unexpected twist, especially considering their history. The dynamic between them kept me engaged throughout the story, although I wished there was more exploration into Mason's suggestibility.

The book had moments of charm, particularly in the banter between Savannah and Mason. However, I wanted more depth in certain areas, especially regarding the hypnotherapy aspect. Towards the end, things felt a bit rushed, and some character arcs seemed unfinished.

Overall, it was a light and enjoyable read. While it may not be perfect, its romance and intriguing premise offered a pleasant escape.

I thought this was a cute second chance, childhood friends, enemies to lovers romance! Whenever Sariah Wilson has a new book out, I am always excited to read it! This wasn’t one of my favorites by her, but I did enjoy it. I was kind of annoyed that Savannah couldn’t get over her past with Mason, I felt like she could’ve let it go a lot earlier. But I did enjoy the characters together and I thought it was such a unique story. If you’re looking for a quick and easy read, I recommend checking this one out!

Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hypnotized by Love is a second-chance romance that’s worth a first look.

Savannah Sinclair uses her skills as a hypnotist to change her clients’ lives. However, she doesn’t realize her skills are about to be put to the test when her former frenemy, Mason Beckett, arrives back in town. Mason and Savannah severed ties years ago. When Mason decides to write an article about hypnosis, he schedules a session with Savannah. When the session goes awry, Savanah feels responsible for Mason’s out-of-character behavior. Their proximity stirs up old feelings and leads to some hilarious and heartfelt bonding.

This was the first novel I’ve read by Sariah Wilson. Her snappy comedic dialogue won me over. I enjoyed the quick banter between Savannah and Mason. Their conversations had a natural flow. Several of Savannah’s quick quips had me laughing out loud. Wilson navigated the characters’ former closeness with their newfound awkwardness well.

Savannah’s career took the plot in a refreshing direction. Rather than lean into typical romance-novel career tropes, Wilson gave Savannah an unusual job that served the plot. I would have loved to see some more scenes exploring Savannah’s sessions with her patients.

In a secondary plot, Wilson believably explores friendship dynamics. Savannah’s relationship with her sister Sierra and their close friend Bridget was an anchor in the story. Their scenes together did more than just provide a sounding board for the main character to process her feelings. Sierra and Bridget brought their issues to the table, which fleshed out their characters. Savannah’s concern about her friends’ problems also gave her more dimension.

Wilson explores how people naturally change over time, even if people’s perceptions don’t. Savannah wrestles with her ability to communicate her expectations against what her bias is telling her. Her push-and-pull added an interesting layer to the enemies-to-lovers and second-chance romance tropes.

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for this complimentary ebook. All opinions are my own.

This was a really sweet story. Savannah is a hypnotist whose ex best friend/crush (Mason) is back in town. Years ago, he broke her heart and ruined her reputation. So when he tricks her into treating him so he can write an article, she's really not into it.

I enjoyed this one. Like Savannah, I'm one to hold past mistakes pretty closely. She, Mason, and her twin Sierra were super close growing up. And when he bretrayed her, she honestly did her best to never be around him again. Which was really hard, and Savannah missed out on a lot.

This book shows how the past affects us as adults. We just got to figure it out. Are we going to let it define us for the rest of our lives, or will we move beyond it?

This was a cute rom-com read that features the tropes of enemies to lovers and second chance love. The main character was a hypnotist, which I thought was a cute an different concept to plot a story around. I really enjoyed the flirting and the development of the story. I also liked the development of the characters.

Savannah grinded on my nerves with her inability to communicate, but maybe that was the author's intent. I was rooting for savannah and mason, and I wanted to see them together. This was a cute and fast read for me. It is not what I normally read, but i was pleasantly surprised.

I absolutely loved this book!! I was skeptical going into about Savannah being a hypnotist but I found my self flying through reading this book! It was so fast paced and the banter between Mason and Savannah was so funny and cute!! This was a clean read with steamy kiss that made me swoon especially with all the sweet things Mason would keep telling Savannah during the kisses! I loved everything about this book and I have found another author I need to read all the books of!

This was an easy, chick lit read. You might say it's predictable from the beginning, but there were twists and turns you didn't see coming. I did feel like towards the end of the book, the author made the main character very whiny and I think she could have left some of it out and finished the book sooner.

Savannah has been holding in fury toward her childhood friend Mason for six years over ruining her senior year in high school and tainting her name. Now he’s back from NY to interview Savannah about hypnotism for an article and her family is begging her to get along with him while he’s here.

I loved Mason and was pained every time Savannah lashed out at him. There were times where it just got old, like how is he still putting up with her nonsense?! But then I remember how my husband has been putting up with my nonsense for almost 20 years and it makes me love Mason all the more.

I wish there was a bit more on the hypnotherapy and Mason’s writing career. Both of them talk about how important it is to them but then all that’s happening is her continually hashing out her struggles with trusting him and thinking about how she wants to kiss him. It makes the characters seem very flat.

Overall, it was a sweet, fast story and I give it 3 stars.
