This was a super cute rom-com/chick-lit story! I loved that it was friends to enemies to lovers (my favorite trope) and had second chance romance it in! Savannah as the main character was interesting, but did cause some frustration as her communication did cause some problems. I really enjoyed her chemistry with mason and the banter between them.
An interesting love story between former best friends and now enemies. Mason and Savana get their chance in love in this funny romance. Although Mason has a lot to work for, especially to persuade and convince Savanah that they are meant to be and to help her how to overcome the ugly past.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for this ARC! I am so so happy I picked this book up. I was intrigued by the title and description of the book and was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this book! The writing was witty and quirky which made me really fall in love with the characters and their storyline. Savannah and Mason’s enemies to lovers relationship is a slow, slow burn but well worth it in the end. I found myself rooting for them time and time again just waiting for them to admit they loved eachother already! I also really enjoyed the book touching on tough by important topics like eating disorders, healthy relationships and therapy. I will most definitely be reading more Sariah Wilson books in the future!
Thank you to my partners, Suzy Approved Book Tours, NetGalley, and Montlake Books, and the author. I appreciate the gifted eARC, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!
1. 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 - I’m not sure I ever put it together until I read this book. That feeling of early love is like being hypnotized. Everything about that person just mesmerizes you…a perfect title for this book!
2. 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 - Why must we always jump to the wrong conclusions? Human brains seem to be wired to assume the worst, and it is proven a few times in this story. Have a little faith in goodness!
3. 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐓𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐨 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭? - From a close friendship to feelings of hatred to a possible reconciliation, Mason and Savannah have been through so much in their lives together. At times quite tumultuous, yet the reader can feel the true passion that holds them together.
4. 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 - A story that can make me laugh out loud is always a winner for me. If you are on that boat with me, grab a copy of this now because you will love it! I especially loved the way Savannah and Mason could make each other laugh even in more serious moments.
5. 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 - The Sinclairs and the Becketts are friends who are truly family. The mothers have held to their longing for their children to end up together. The reader gets to witness the path that may, and hopefully will, lead them there.
I really liked this book! I thought all the tropes of childhood best friends to lovers and the second chance relationship was so cute.
I’m glad he stuck around to make her trust him again!
Intriguing and Captivating! 'Hypnotized by Love' by Sariah Wilson weaves a spellbinding tale of second chances and unexpected transformations. Savannah Sinclair and Mason Beckett's complex dynamic keeps you hooked from page one. The blend of hypnotism, romance, and self-discovery is masterfully crafted. The characters are relatable and engaging, and the plot twists keep you guessing until the very end. A must-read for fans of contemporary romance with a touch of the extraordinary! 5 stars!
Cute plot. The characters are a little immature for their ages.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
This book won me over. It was a slow start and some of the lines were cringy but I loved the latter half and the twist that ends up happening. This book was so good and I was sad at the end saying goodbye to the characters. Thank you to NetGalley and Sariah Wilson for giving me a free E-ARC in exchange for an honest unbiased review
Couldn't put this one down! This was such a cute read! I really enjoyed Savannah and Mason. Mason's love for Savannah was so real and genuine; I just wanted them to get together already. Great and quick read!
*Thank you partner @suzyapprovedbooktours and @sariahwilsonauthor for the #gifted egalley in exchange for an honest review.*
Hypnotized By Love is a cute romance story with lots of drama, some witty banter, friends, family involvement, & trust issues. 75% of the book is the internal mental turmoil & overthinking within the lead female character's brain. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book on #NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own, but hopefully, you'll put one or many of Sariah Wilson's books on your TBR list cause she's a super talented writer.
Hypnotized By Love is not my favorite of Sariah Wilson's books, but if you love a friends to lovers story with laugh out load one-liners, then you'll probably enjoy this book.
Miscommunication is usually hit or miss for me depending on the topic, but I thought this one was done well. Yes, the years of bad feelings would have never happened if they had the conversation earlier, but I liked how it happened when they were both more mature. It had rivals to lover’s vibes even though only one side viewed them as emeries. I loved the lengths Mason went to in order prove to Savannah they could be friends. There were many humorous moments throughout especially because of what happened during Mason’s session. Savannah’s conversations with her twin and how she was trying to fight the feelings she had helped it be on the lighter side but also giving the characters good depth.
Thank you @sariahwilson411 and @suzyapprovedbooktours for the gifted copy.
Cute love story, that I would’ve liked more if it was a bit shorter and the main character made 3-4 less dumb decisions. It read as younger than others by this author and I wasn’t as invested and didn’t feel like I was rooting for them much- but it was cute!
I enjoyed the style and writing of this book. I thought the characters were decent but not really anything out of the ordinary. The story was good but rather than being enemies to lovers it is more to do with a huge miscommunication on one side. I wish the hypnotism played more of a part within the book especially since its in the title of the book.
It is a good read but don't think I would re-read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake for this ARC of ‘Hypnotised by Love’ by Sariah Wilson.
This is not my first book by this author. I have previously read ‘Roommaid’ and ‘The Seat Filler’. Whilst I absolutely loved both of those this one was my favourite! I’m not massive on the miscommunication trope usually but it just fit so perfectly in this book. It was a nice sweet enemies to lovers romance. What’s more to love.
Sorry I didn’t enjoy this book would not buy this book definitely not worth my time or money if you enjoy
A clean enemies to lovers romance. Miscommunication is one of my least favorite tropes and it takes most of the book to clear this one up. But it is a quick fun read.
I was intrigued by Savannah being a hypnotherapist and helping her clients overcome issue with hypnotherapy. Mason is adorable. I chuckled at the idea of adult twins switching places and tricking their family and friends.
Just an easy writing style that made for a quick entertaining read.
The premise of this book is amazing and frankly, a great new spin on the (clean) romance scene. It was a good steady read, unlike some of the emotional roller coasters I’ve been on lately. I was definitely into the big ooops at the beginning and then it went downhill about half way through. Savannah is in her mid-twenties and is an educated woman. Unfortunately, she still acts like a teenager in high school. She’s immature and insecure and I really didn’t like her. Mason is better but I didn’t find myself cheering for their love story. I’ve heard too many good things about this author and look forward to reading more of her books.
2.5 stars.
I received an ARC copy of this novel for an honest review.
This was a quick and easy read. The beginning was promising - the premise of hypnotism between childhood friends turned enemies was interesting. Unfortunately, I think that it didn’t live up to its full potential.
I found savannah ti be a frustrating character - she was stubborn to an extreme, instead of making this a character trait/flaw of the character this became her entire personality and made her incredibly immature.
The reason for Savannah’s dislike of Mason is not revealed until almost halfway through the book. If this had been introduced earlier then there would have been more opportunity to develop her character and address the impact on her and her family - instead a lot of time was spent on her twins history.
I was left confused as Mason does not seem to know why Savannah had fallen out with him as a teenager, and seemed to love/like her despite her hatred for him. Why would he never question her complete disdain for him?
The dramatic twist at the end felt unnecessary as there were other elements of the relationship between Savannah and Mason that could have been developed/considered.
I have enjoyed other books from this author but this one just didn’t work for me. I’ll definitely look out for her future works though.
“Hypnotized by Love” by Sariah Wilson is a captivating romance filled with charm and heart. Savannah Sinclair, a hypnotist with a unique approach, faces her high school rival, Mason Beckett, who becomes an unexpected participant in her sessions. As Mason undergoes hypnotism, he transforms into a fearless and open version of himself, leading to a whirlwind of emotions and a chase to protect him. Wilson crafts a delightful story with likable characters and a refreshing premise. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and would recommend it to anyone seeking a sweet and engaging romance. 4 out of 5 stars!
Savannah Wilson and Mason Beckett grew up together and were so close their moms would talk about planning their future wedding. It all blows up when he betrays her in HS and she never gives him a chance to explain. Fast forward several years and she is a Hypno-therapist and he is returning to town after his last book is a failure. He is hired to write an expose on her as a fake hypnotist and makes an appointment for himself.
This is a second chance romance or childhood friends to enemies to more. The story has some genuine funny moments and also lots of immaturity is shown by both MCs. The original reason for their break-up doesn’t seem that egregious but there are some more serious things revealed. Also the FMC doesn’t let him explain his actions saying she blocked him on all her media, phone and email. But they were attending the same HS. I’m not sure how big blocking was seven years ago. (Maybe it was a thing.) This book is clean for language and intimacy. And after reading a few of her books I only now realized that she lives in my home state. (3.5 Stars)
