What's not to love about a fake dating trope between a vampire and a human mixed with Bridgerton vibes. I really enjoyed reading this and I always love a good vampire book. Filthy Rich Vampire made me reminiscent of twilight but for older audiences and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This wasn't for me. The concept of 'fake dating' and a Bridgerton influenced story of a vampire version of the marriage mart was initially intriguing and had a lot of potential for subverting what has already been done before. But something was missing. The romance between Julian and Thea was very rushed and at no point did I feel that these two characters were actually 'fake dating' it went from "be my fake girlfriend and I'll show you the world" to "I love you" in nearly the same breath. There was no space for forced proximity to create tension between a vampire with powers to control and a human who had just discovered the supernatural world. This made their relationship two-dimensional. The magic and foundation of the sacred rites was muddled and adding witches into the mix was even more confusing. I think the novel needed to have more focus on world building, especially as this is the first novel in a series. Other characters are mentioned as add-ons in scenes without adding to this new world of supernatural rites and vampires. If characters like Sebastian and others, added dialogue to enrich the context of the supernatural world and the rites. This would have given the reader a deeper insight into how significant the rites and marriages are within the novel.

The pacing was ok, but nothing really happened a part from Julian and Thea pining for each other and giving each other mixed messages. Thea is also presented as a child-like character who cannot make her own choices when she is an adult and this creates an uncomfortable power balance between Julian and Thea. The conflict between Julian and Thea was muddled, at one moment Thea is angry but then she isn't but then it all flips again. Higher stakes needed to be created in this environment of blood-thirsty vampires and how they perceive humans - an element of danger was missing. The radical group of vampires as a major antagonist needed to be threaded through the plot for the reader to understand why they are such a big threat to the old ways and how difficult it is to infiltrate this world.

Overall, this wasn't for me but I think someone who enjoys novels with vampires and loves that gothic genre will appreciate this novel more. I think the characters, conflicts and world building needed more depth to create an immersive read.

this was pitched to me as being bridgerton but with vampires so obviously i was intrigued. newly edited and in print for the first time, this was everything i enjoy about vampire novels - sassy main characters, a bit of melodrama and endless cheesy relationship moments. plus it features one of my favourite romance tropes! i love when fake dating doesn’t go to plan!
so the premise is simple, julian is a vampire and he is filthy rich, he is also the heir to his powerful and important vampire family and he is required to find a wife and have children of his own, only he isn’t about that life. a chance meeting with thea however gives him an out - she could pretend to be his girlfriend so he is off the market, the problem? thea is a human and also they might be a little bit in love with each other… at times it reminded me of the first series of bridgerton (there is even a brother called benedict!), at times it reminded me of the first fifty shades book (as in the super rich guy, very poor girl and he helps her learn more about her sexuality but like you know without the whips and chains). don’t be put off by me saying that - this was infinitely more entertaining. there was no thinly veiled abuse here - though a lot of the main couple white fanging each other… (somehow that seems wrong to say when there are vampires involved)
also, how was this so spicy when there was no actual spice if you’re picking up what i’m putting down? 🌶️🌶️
a thoroughly entertaining start to what promises to be a fun, vampire romance- i’m already adding book two to my wish list!

the filthy rich vampire series is out in its entirety now.

This book was different to what I expected but not in a bad way. I've read plenty of vampire books but this one stands out. Loved the writing and the story. Look forward to reading more by Geneva Lee

I thought I was going to really enjoy this book, fake dating trope plus vampires... I mean what's not to love! Julian Rousseaux has been told he must find a wife before the end of the season, whether he likes it or not. But Julian would rather stake himself than find a match. I mean it kinda sounds like a bridgeton plus vampires right?
Wrong.
This was by far the most disjointed book I have ever read. The plot just made no sense. It feels like a mash of ideas that have yet to be refined.
Thea is basically a modern day Charlotte Lucas and jumps at the first guy who takes notice of her and has basically no personality apart from 'plays cello' and lives in a 'rough area'.
Don't even get me started on Julian.
I really wanted to finish this book but I just felt disappointed.
Thank you so much NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review 💚

I cant even remember the FMCs name, she was just as annoying as Bella was in Twilight. Julian is the MMC and well, he was interesting at the start but slowly tired of him as well. However, i did love the friend Olivia!!

i think it was good but it definetly was NOT for me. My fault, i should have read the synopsis but i cant stand smut and it was too full on for me.

well i hate smut, i dont mind a little bit of it, but chapters and chapters.... no. stop. go away.

i also WISHED that the FMC was badass but sadly, she was not.

I quite enjoyed this even if did feel a little slow in parts.

I do like to get 'sucked' in to vampire myths and tales, this book did the job.

Thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to review this book this is my honest opinion

After reading the synopsis of this book, I was hoping to get a gritty, smutty plot but I was actually a bit disappointed.

Due to a vampire rule regarding virgins (and Julain's weird reaction to Thea's virginity, which is never fully explained), there was mostly just flirting and some almost-sex, but there was no actual sex between the MCs.

I wasn't keen on the insta-lust between Julian and Thea, I don't like it when the chemistry feels forced or rushed.

The pacing was slow which made the plot drag for me. The characters were ok, but I think they could've been developed some more.

Although this book didn't live up to my expectations, I think other people would like it.

*Thank you to @Netgalley, the author and the publishers for providing this ARC. This is my own opinion and an honest review, which I am leaving voluntarily*

I'm new to the vampire romance genre and I'm not sure it's for me. This was mostly an enjoyable read but the characters lacked a certain something that I couldn't put my finger on.
Some of the classic tropes (rich guy/poor girl, experienced guy/inexperienced girl) were a bit pedestrian and at times a bit far fetched but maybe that's because if someone I'd known for a day bought me a 500k gift I would instantly sell it and go on holiday.

Well, that was funnier than expected! It's been years since my last vampire novel, and knowing Geneva Lee I was curious about her version. This could have gone either way, and I'm not saying it was the best vampire romance I ever read, but it was enjoyable! Julian is the women's soft fantasy version of vampire, mixed with some Edward, and of course rich. I Thea is the emancipated and innocent woman, virgin but eager to please. Like most other female heroes in the vampire novels she has no feeling for self preservation. "I'm a Vampire Thea, run" - "Why?" He could kill her in a second but let's argue about something stupid for the sake of it. If you're wondering why a 1000 year old Vampire would be interested in a young human, it's magic, and it makes him obsessive. I liked the jabs against Twilight "finding a vampire watching you sleep was creepy", "hunting, like deer?- You read too many books", but then the plot is mostly the same. Her blood sings to him, she doesn't care how dangerous he is, he buys her too expensive stuff, she is not like the other girls and a group of evil vampires attack. Even the ending... Well, I liked Twilight back in the day, and this was that, mixed with a pinch of 50 Shades of Grey. Which is funny to me given that 50 Shades is a fanfiction of Twilight. So yeah, if you like any of these two, you'll enjoy Filthy Rich Vampire.

This was fun, but I wouldn’t rate it as an instant must-read or big hitter - I found the characters a bit one-dimensional and the plot was fairly brisk.
The concept was good, but I’d love to see some more development - great for a quick read if you need to switch off your brain, but nothing really gripped me.

Thea is playing the cello at a private event and is dazzled by the number of stunning people attending, it's a weird vibe but things get weirder when she bumps into Julian Rousseaux. She is suddenly plunged into a hidden world of the supernatural and discovers that vampires really do exist. Julian finds himself drawn to Thea and feels the need to protect her. I found this story to be interesting combining threads from magical worlds and the intensity of vampire love stories. It finishes on a cliffhanger so I'll be looking out for the next book in the series.

I actually loved this book, despite the ridiculousness of it. It was described to me as "Bridgerton meets Twilight" and that description did not disappoint. I loved the main characters and the difficulties they faced, but I think it's the side characters that really bring the book to life.
The plot is your typical paranormal romance fare; broody vampire disillusioned by his eternal life falls for a peppy university student who has overcome so much! So it's not surprising that I found the main characters a little cliche, but Thea's flatmates and Julian's family/friends have some amazing dynamics and and quirks that I found charming and endearing - even the ones that were supposed to be a little scary and domineering.
I will say that I found the storytelling a little choppy, bouncing from one main event to the next without many linking scenes, but I'm told that this is the current style so maybe that's just me!
Overall it was a fun book to read and I couldn't put it down. Be warned: it does end on a cliffhanger and you will want the next book immediately!

Really loved this book, Julian and Thea’s story kept me reading avidly from page one until the end. Really looking forward to book two. Highly recommended series.

I was hoping for more depth but this, it was okay but nothing phenomenonal. Your classic insta-love. Struggling student pretends to date a vampire so he can pay her mums medical bills. But as ever, it's not that simple. Turns out vampires and their world are dangerous.
There isn't a lot of world building, but there is vampire lore and politics to learn from later. There's a lot of good tropes hit, fake dating, forbidden love, and it's good fun. It's like watching a TV drama, not necessarily high quality but exciting and fun and makes you read on.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC of 'Filthy Rich Vampire' by Geneva Lee.

You know, this didn't redeem vampires for me. Is it my fault I don't like vampires? Of course it is, but I was so excited for this book I expected it to make me like vampires. But alas. I didn't enjoy this story as a whole, it felt just bland to me and honestly I've read books like this before and this didn't stand out. I'm only giving it a 2 because of the cover.

I like vampire romance, and the description sounded interesting, so I decided to take a chance on a new to me author. I enjoyed this book just fine right up until I got to the last chapter and it ended with an unexpected cliffhanger. I was listening to it with text to voice software, didn't notice I was reaching the end of the book and was expecting a HEA right up until it abruptly ended without resolution. I am fine with cliffhangers if I know in advance the book is going to be one. There's nothing in the book description, title or cover to indicate that it is a cliffhanger; the book is 1 of 4 in a series, but many series' are comprised of volumes that can be read as standalone, so I don't feel this is sufficient warning. The characters and storyline didn't grab me enough to want to continue reading about them so I won't be reading any more books in this series.

Advertised as Bridgerton but make it vampire... and I guess at it's core it is. Filthy Rich societal vampires coming together for the season to find matches and mingle.

I want to start off with the good and what I liked.

I actually loved all of the twists the author put on the myths and lore surrounding vampires, all the little things we take for gospel when reading or talking of vampires and she acknowledged them and then morphed them to fit with her narrative so well.

The concept was amazing at heart, I love Bridgerton and I love vampires, Witches and everything supernatural...

However (spoilers ahead) I was geared up and ready for some hella spice. I mean Bridgerton and Vampires... come on. But... It didn't come, not fully. We did get some spice and some saucy scenes play out but thanks to a law that vampires shouldn't sleep with virgins (our mc being one) because they would be enthralled (think TVD sired) we couldn't get all five spices, just some sweet cinnamon.

The two lovers either hated each other or lasted for each other... no in between. And really, it was discovered they were mates which was already a bond... which surely would negate the enthralling process...

I am sure it will pick up in future books and this wasn't terrible it just wasn't for me.
