Five stars because I enjoyed this book so much!

This really is modern day vampires meets Bridgerton story. If you’re into any of the big vamp fandoms like twilight, vampire diaries or true blood then I definitely recommend trying this book! It’s a love story between a vampire and a human but the politics of the vampire world and regency style traditions they hold take up most of the plot.

Thea is what seems to be an ordinary human with a talent for playing the cello, when her quartet ends up playing at a high class event she catches the eye of Julian. He’s basically royalty in the vampire world and it’s his time to find a bride. There seems to be something more to her though as her blood seems to sing to him and most other vampires.

The pair find themselves having an intense pull to each other which leads to a lot of tense, hot and heavy moments. I found myself rooting for them pretty quickly and I really wanted them to tell Julian’s overbearing mother where to go. Even though she’s the most unlikeable character and a sort of villain to the two I can’t wait to see if she’ll have a change of heart in the next books.

We’re slowly introduced to the world of vampire politics and all of the characters we meet throughout are really strong, vibrant additions to the story. The world is really well thought out and we’re introduced to most of it at the same time as Thea so it’s not too overwhelming or dense.

I honestly couldn’t put it down. Pretty much every chapter had me dying to read the next one straight away! The author really knows how to keep you invested!

It does end on a cliffhanger and that ending has left me desperate to read the next book!

This was not my usual kind of read but I had the opportunity thanks to netgalley to give it a read as arc and I am not disappointed. The storyline kept me intruiged and interested throughout. I did. struggle slightly at the start getting Into the story but I think that was down to me as a reader and not the actual story itself. I will he Reading more like this and recommend anyone to give it a try.

I really enjoyed this book and am in desperate need of the second one to find out what happens! This book follows Julian and Thea, Julian is a centuries old vampire and Thea is a cellist, their paths cross unexpectedly and their journey begins from there. I loved the world this was set in and the vampire lore. When Julian takes Thea to Paris he shows her their hidden world and all the secrets that come along with that, I found this world really beautiful and magical. I cannot wait to follow more of their story, and I hope Julian’s family will embrace Thea moving forward and fight the new laws in place to help them being together. There is also a vampire war raging and that has left so many unanswered questions, I need answers! Julian is top tier vampire boyfriend!

When vampire elite Julian Rousseaux is woken from his decades long sleep, he’s none too happy to find out its because his mother has decided that, as her oldest surviving child, it's time for him to step up and do his duty by the family by fathering little baby vampires so she demands his attendance at a party/orgy. In a scene that made me think a historical romance where marriageable daughters were paraded before the eligible nobility of the ton albeit in this case Julian is no virgin he’s still on show even if he has his pick of the familiars clamouring to be his chosen one. The trouble is Julian has no intention of marrying so when human cellist Thea catches his eye, he decides he’ll protect her from the hungry attention of his fellow vampires and keep her alive if in return she’ll pose as his girlfriend to thwart his mother’s matchmaking attempts.

With a decadently rich and opulent feel about it and intriguing characters I feel I should have loved this book more than I did. I mean a hero who positively oozes arrogance and ennui, kinky, vampire orgies where anything goes, a vampire rebellion in the making and trips to the Paris opera house with mentions of the infamous phantom, not forgetting a trip to Ile Cachee , an enclave in Paris hiding in plain sight reminiscent of the infamous Diagon Alley. The romance itself was slowburn with no full on s€x but laden with some seriously heavy and steamy encounters but if I’m being honest, I struggled with Filthy Rich Vampires only managing to read a few chapters at a time, so it took me longer to finish than usual. It did however pick up towards the end once the setting moved to Paris before culminating on more of ‘to be continued’ rather than cliffhanger ending. I’m hoping that now that the characters have been established the next book will have a better flow to it. I think that there just might be more to Thea than meets the eye and I loved Julian’s brothers. One thing I really didn’t like though was Julian calling Thea ‘pet’ as a term of endearment. For me, it just sounded a bit derogatory and made me cringe. For that I’m giving this book 3.5 stars

I found this book easy to read and predictable in most parts. I didn’t fully get the relationship between the MC’s. His undying love for her and the conclusion of the book made no sense to me. I found it to be lacking in explanations to understand some of the vampire ways and am still none the wiser with the completion of the book. (Perhaps I missed something?)

There could have been more substance to the story. I found it mildly subpar and underwhelming, however, as contradictory as this sounds, I still liked it and was happy to pick it up.

I really wanted it to be good and I was left with an abrupt ending and wanting more from the book. I give this book 2.5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and all involved in me being able to read this book, in exchange for an honest review.

Pretty Woman meets Interview With A Vampire meets V for Vendetta in a sex-filled miscommunication orgy (featuring literal orgies!). If you like your MMCs unreconstructed and your FMCs virginal but with a little kick this is the book for you. NB. Cliff-hanger going into book 2.

Loved this guilty pleasure of a book. Total escapism. Who doesn't love a sexy (and filthy rich!) vampire??

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy in return for an honest review.

Okay, wow! My first experience of a vampire book that was not Twilight and I am obsessed! I literally cannot believe I have to wait until February for the second book 😫.

When Thea finds herself playing her Cello at the most strange party she has ever attended, her performance comes to an end and she finds herself on the end of an expected death stare from none other than Julian Rousseax.

Thea and Julian are from completely different worlds. Thea is a Cellist and a student who is working all hours to pay rent and cover her mums medical bills. Julian is rich, slightly old school, doesn’t know how to use a phone, expected to find a wife this season and to top that off is a grumpy, possessive vampire.

Julian sees something in Thea he can’t stay away from, Thea is enamoured with the attention she receives from Julian. As much as he infuriates her, he makes her feel wanted like she’s never felt before, she soon finds herself swept up in a deal she can’t refuse.

Things I liked:
✨This book was such a good read, I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I was drawn in by Julian’s moody character.
✨ The development of the relationship between Julian and Thea.
✨ Thea came into her character a bit more and I liked that, there were times I wanted to be like ‘oh come on stand up for yourself’ but she was on the receiving end of arguing with a vampire so 😂.
✨ it was quite spicy 🌶️🌶️.
✨ I love a book that is slightly out of my comfort zone but one that I don’t want to put down.

Things not for me:
✨ Although I liked the possessive vampire act, I found some of Julian’s demands cringe and a bit 🤢.

Liked the alternative viewpoints of each chapter to help give perspective from two different worlds. Also enjoyed the light and dark that their two worlds provided.

From the start, Julian and Thea's relationship felt intoxicating and magnetic, but not always in a healthy way, so I struggled to feel completely invested in their happy ending.

The family dynamics definitely felt very Bridgerton-esque and provided an extra layer to the story to keep it slightly elevated from the Fifty Shades trope.

Enjoyable enough - sated my curiosity.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me an eARC to review. ✨

This book is described as Twilight meets Bridgerton - something that had me immediately intrigued. There are indeed vampires having their version of a social season so those expectations were absolutely met.

The vampire society was interesting and there were politics in play that added an extra layer to the story. It seems like this will become more important in future books.

For me the relationship between Julian and Thea didn’t feel healthy, not even in a suspend-my-disbelief-we’re-talking-about-vampires way. There was a lot of love b0mb!ng type behaviour from him and nowhere near enough actual apologising and grovelling to make up for his behaviour in my opinion.

Overall I liked this one but didn’t feel as invested in the romance as I wanted to. The vampire society and friendships with the side characters were more exciting to me.

Fifty shades with grey but with vampires.
It was an okay quick read, was quite intrigued to see what this was like so requested it. It was okay but wouldn’t say this stood out.

Hot, sexy and full of lust.

Filthy Rich Vampire is not for those who are shall we say a little prude.

It's like a mix of Twilight, Bridgerton and 50 shades and I'm totally here for it.

If you're expecting literary brilliance then this isn't it. This is smutty escapism at its best.

Question is, how long do I have to wait for the next book?

I really enjoyed this book!

It’s definitely not ground breaking and it is a bit cliched at times but I found it a nice getaway from reality read. It felt kind of nostalgic in a way, reminiscent of a grown up vampire romance I might have read when I was younger, perhaps a little dated but definitely an enjoyable read for me!

Thea is a good character, I like that she was kind of blasé about what was going on sometimes, it tracked that she had been focused on work / study / music and hadn’t been taken in by distractions. That worked well.
I was really interested in the vampire politics and the rites, I can see lots more coming out about that, if anything I could have had more of that as part of the story.
The familiars were an interesting concept and a highlight for me was the visit in Paris to the hidden area, I would have liked to have heard more about that.

I found myself thinking about the book when I was working, wanting to get back to reading! It reminded me of every young girl’s secret dream to be swept off her feet by a rich hot guy, it’s a bit old fashioned now and cliched but I appreciated it all the same! I think it would definitely appeal to those who like paranormal and billionaire romances.

It was easy to read and I could envisage it all well, it was well described and the side characters all kept my interest. I’m really looking forward to reading the next in the series and find out what happens after that cliff hanger!

"What does that mean? That you'll ground me?"
"No, Thea. It means I'll spank you."

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

📍Release Date: 26 October 2023

So apparently this has already been published in May last year but is being rereleased now in hard copy. It's not exactly an ARC, but since I got it from Netgalley I will obviously still treat it like one, so there will be no spoilers.

I have some thoughts on this one. I did enjoy it quite a bit, but there are some things I didn't particularly like. To begin with, while the plot is pretty interesting, there are some parts of it that I can't fully get behind. It is a little cringe here and there, though that doesn't always bother me. I do find myself enjoying the cringe every now and then.

However, I have to draw the line when it comes to making such a big deal out of virginity. I can understand that a young woman may not have had the chance to be intimate with someone even if she's 22 years old. That's perfectly normal, but involving said virginity with magical repercussions is admittedly a little weird to me.

Also, the plot feels a little stretched out. It could have easily been a standalone, in my opinion, but apparently, there are four to five books in the series. Nonetheless, I am thinking of continuing the series sometime soon. It seems like it could get a lot more interesting.

Moreover, Julian is the filthy rich vampire in the story. He is charming, and insanely attractive, not that any of this is surprising. He is also around nine hundred years old, which is about men need to mature. Not that his maturity is helping him much in his situation. He may have matured, but his problem-solving skills need a lot of work. Let's not forget the hard time he's having with the twenty-two-year-old woman he has fallen madly in love with. I was not surprised by this either. It's still a little funny, although I'm getting a bit tired of the cliché.

Besides, Thea, the twenty-two-year-old in question, might be a likable and sweet young woman, but she's incredibly toxic to herself and I might need to call her a therapist. She's an exceptionally talented cellist and headstrong, but I am deeply disappointed with her decision-making skills. I don't care how "innocent" she is, no one should be stupid enough to drop their entire life and everything they've worked for to help some dude they've known for two days to avoid marriage. It doesn't matter how hot he is or that they had no prior romantic experience.

Lastly, their relationship is an absolute rollercoaster and it's only a week or so long. It's insta-love, which I'm not particularly fond of, but it's also insta-horny which I definitely like more. They have pretty solid chemistry between them and a good amount of passion. Nonetheless, they still don't know if they want to be together or apart or if they want to fuck or not touch each other at all. Their relationship gave me a bit of a whiplash, but I'd be lying if I said I'm not still invested in it.

Headlines:
Dramatic
Decadent
Deadly

Filthy Rich Vampire reads how it sounds, a little cliche on the one hand but pretty addictive to read. The hero Julian, is a bunch of contradictions but that's part of his appeal. He's from vampire royalty and he's got a duty to perform for the good of vampire legacy. Thea, the heroine is a small but feisty muscian, all human and not for his world.

From a trope perspective it's giving:
*fake dating
*he falls first
*forbidden relationship

I liked the eventual dynamic that this couple developed, built on a vampiric insta-mate plot but there was more to them than that convenience. I'm convinced there's more to Thea in the supernatural than meets the eye. I didn't always enjoy the on-page heat but I definitely bought into their chemistry.

The obstacles in the way of these two are frustrating but part of the plot and that ending can hardly be forgiven. No doubt, I'll be reading the next.

Thank you to Renegade Books for the review copy.

This book started well, and immediately had me interested and invested.
However, the more the book went on, the more it played to all the usual romance tropes and I felt like I was reading the early chapters of '50 shades.'
This book just didn't do anything new for me. It wasn't original enough to keep me interested unfortunately, as I so desperately wanted to love this.

If you enjoyed 50 Shades, you'll enjoy this. Complete with lip biting & horrendous pet names (see what I did there?!) But less consent.

The plot is ridiculous (but I get that people aren't picking it up for explosive narration or prose). I mean the spice is there but it's all been done before.

Anyways, you'll absolutely eat this up but supernatural erotica is your jam. If it isn't, well read something different.

Bridgerton meets blood in this steamy and addictive vampire romance. I can totally see this being a film one day.

This was my first read from this author, I was pleasantly surprised. It made me very emotional,
and I definitely didn't want the book to end. I'd like to read more from this author and hopefully this book will become a series. The book is very spicy and dark, definitely a win for a vampire romance. I would 100% recommend!
