Thanks to NetGalley and Dialogue books for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The book is described as Bridgerton meets Twilight, but I would describe it as Twilight meets 5o Shades. It follows the very speedy romance between Julian (vampire) and Thea (human). Easy to read, pacy and kept me hooked. Very racy in some parts, the only thing I didn't like was Julian's constant mention of 'pet' ( a real turn-off!). A good October read (Halloween) if you want some romance in your life!

Familiar and fresh at the same time. I liked the fusion of old and new world vampire myth. It definitely has Twilight feels but a much more grown up and less whiny. The pace is well managed and greet action. The ending while stressful sets up brilliantly for the next one.

This was pure indulgent romance. Granted not believable at times but to be honest I don’t read these kinds of romances for reality - whisk me away! Overall I really enjoyed it for an easy read and a bit of fun.

I have so many thoughts.

Advertised as Twilight meets Bridgerton, it doesn’t quite hit either spot (I am a big fan of both so there is a high bar there) and I was disappointed to find it wasn’t actually set in the Regency period. Yet, it does work as an easy-to-consume billionaire romance with vampires and supernatural hurdles. However, there were a couple of things that nearly made me stop reading and a couple that kept me interested (so between that and my CAWPILE rating system) it came out as (just about) three stars.

Things that made me want to throw this book against a wall:
The innocent female virgin trope: the ‘I don’t know if I’ve had an orgasm’ with the ‘let me teach you’ but I won’t take your virginity despite us having frequent sex. Which goes to show virginity basically being a patriarchal social construct aiding in shaming female sexual empowerment- but you know what we don’t even need to go there- because ‘the real issue’ is these old magical rules to make virginity a dangerous magical contract between a vampire and a virgin.

Insta Love: The only person who believed this book featured a fake dating trope was Thea and that lasted all of a day because the whole book takes place over basically a week. They make up for it with another classic trope (but won’t delve deep because it’s a mild spoiler). For my fellow fake dating fans though, this is not a book that represents (sorry boo).

Reasons I didn’t throw it against a wall and actually still rated it well:
The pace: Despite being nearly 400 pages, things kept happening and it was easy to keep reading. I’m not going to lie I didn’t realise it wasn’t a stand-alone until three-quarters of the way through when I realised there wasn’t enough time for everything to be resolved. And maybe curiosity will kill the cat but there was a cliffhanger and I need to know how it works out (which shows I did somehow become invested in this supernatural soap opera drama).

Murderous mummy-(in law): Julian’s mother might be incredibly venomous towards our FMC but she was by far one of the most interesting characters. In a matriarch vampire world, she’s a sword-wielding head of the family who kicks ass and keeps everyone in line. Genuinely would read a book where she’s the FMC and will settle with just seeing her get more pages in the sequel.

If innocent virgin trope doesn’t annoy you too much and you like some Insta love in a fast vampire billionaire vampire romance series, Filthy Rich Vampire could be your next read.

Filthy Rich Vampire is a spicy romance novel that I would best describe as a cross between Twilight, Crazy Rich Asians and Fifty Shades of Grey. It is a simple and enjoyable romance read and if definitely recommend it if you are a fan of fake dating, vampires, grumpy/sunshine, billionaire MMC and possessive MMCs!

For starters, I was a fan of the urban setting and the extravagant, opulent vampire society that was created. I am also a fan of slow burn and I thought the spice was really well done. Unfortunately though, I didn’t really enjoy the rest of the book for several reasons. The first thing that frustrated me was the constant use of the miscommunication trope. It happens so many times throughout the book and just grows repetitive and frustrating! I also found the characters to be one-dimensional and I didn’t really connect with either of them. Julian was absolutely awful, he’s a 900 year old that goes after a 20 year old virgin?! And he’s so hot and cold towards Thea, the relationship just goes around in circles- being made worse by the constant miscommunication! I also think the author should have developed vampires a bit more- they don’t have any real history or powers, just suuuppperrr old but beautiful humans who happen to drink blood. Despite its flaws I’d still encourage you to give it a read, especially if you are looking for a simple spicy romance!

Loved this book. A mixture of fantasy, obsession and love with a mix of vampires & witches. Well written and enthralling.

Not your overly typical vampire/love triangle story. Yes there is the gorgeous hot vampire that just happens to be 900 years old and of course all of his family are equally as beautiful.
And of course he falls for a mere female mortal!
But in saying that there is a decent storyline aswell.
I'm intrigued to find out what happened to the vampires Julian's twin sister in the next book.
Overall a enjoyable read.

This was a really fun vampire romance that I'm glad I read. Kind of cheesy but in a good way and I am intrigued enought to read the rest of the series. However, the marketing of 'Twilight meets Bridgerton' isn't quite true. I didn't feel and Bridgerton vibes from this book.

Still a real treat to read though.

Vampires? Fake dating? Rich? Sign me up! I DEVOURED this book, I loved the characters and the romance and the world building. I honestly do not have a single criticism, everything was perfectly plotted and written and I had the best time reading this. Thea you have my heart, I love you and your slightly annoying but loveable main character energy. I need to get my hands on the next book asap because the ending has left me feeling empty and hollow and in need of more content. One of my new favourites, I can’t explain how much I loved this.

Talk about a addictive book! I can't put this book down. Julian and Thea just suck you into their world and make you not want to leave. Julian is vampire royalty whilst Thea is the forbidden mortal. Will they get together despite everything that is being thrown at them?

I can't wait to read the next three books in this series. The only criticism I have that I did get Twilight vibes from it not Bridgeton as its said.

I couldn’t even read this because of the sheer amount of issues!! The formatting was wrong, And the text wouldn’t change colour (My other books did, So I came to the conclusion it was this book), This is a problem for me because I am dyslexic! I cannot read off of white, but since the text was black, I had no other choice.

I enjoyed this a lot! The author made me care about the characters and what happened to them. I can’t wait for this to be published

Billed as Bridgerton with Vampires, this felt more like Twilight takes places place in Christian Grey's red room. It was enjoyable but pacing was definitely off at times. I think I’m jaded by just so being over a FMC’s virginity being a key plot point that I was turned off at times. Ends with a cliff hanger (I did not know this was part of a series) and I don’t think I’ll be moving on to book 2.

Described somewhere as Bridgerton meets Interview with a Vampire which isn't vastly off the mark. It's an enjoyable if slight read, seemingly a little unsure of what genre it wants to be. Good for a beach read.

The blurb describes this book as a Bridgerton meets twilight, and this transported me immediately to an historical with vampires, which for some reason I discovered I absolutely needed.

It was my mistake, and in reality, the story happens in a contemporary setting and feels more like a cross between twilight and fifty shades of grey.

The characters and world are not too developed, but still it was a fun and fast read.

Read this if you like:
- overprotective, alfa and rich MMC
- Needing virgin FMC
- Dual POV
- Spice
- Vampires
- Fated mates

The book ends up in a light cliffhanger and I’ll probably read the second book.

I couldn’t get past the first chapter. I hate leaving negative reviews but the dialogue was bad and the internal monologue of the character just made me cringe.

I started out really loving the book, but kind of started to loose interest. I felt it just lost its way, I felt the naivety of Thea was strange, even my teenager could work out what was going on in the trousers 😆 There is a lot of not having sex in the book, whilst still getting graphic details of how they're not getting into the nitty gritty. The ending is left in a cliffhanger, however I think I'll personally leave it there. I tried to love it, but it just wasn't for me

I received an arc copy and I’m so glad I requested it.
I adored this book and flew through the pages. It was addicting and fun. I was sucked into Thea’s and Julian’s relationship and their characters. I love how the drama never stopped. I think sometimes vampire books can flop but this one didn’t. It had the important information without being boring and kept everything upbeat and fun.
February 2024 I can’t wait that long for the next book. This is a solid 4 star read.

I received an email from NetGalley about this ARC and once I read the blurb I immediately wanted to give it a go. It is a long while since I've read any vampire fiction and thought this sounded like a good way back in. I always love a good fake dating trope.

Despite it being a contemporary setting, it has an old world feel to it due to the age of the vampires. There is a beautiful feel to the novel with a slight feeling of magic and a dash of Jane Austen-esque matchmaking.

The relationship between Thea and Julian is wonderful to read. There is a very 'will they, won't they' back and forth, which while a little cheesy, I really enjoyed. The book is also in dual POV so you get to see the relationship develop from both of their perspectives.

The book has a lovely writing style which makes it very easy to read. There is plenty of world and character building. It felt a little slow in the middle but the pace definitely picked up towards the end.

My only wish about this book was for it to have a slightly less cheesy title.

The book ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to find out what happens next. The next book, Filthy Rich Vampires: Second Rite, is due to be released in February 2024 according to Amazon. I can't wait!

The premise sounded so good but I couldn’t really connect with the writing and it bought down the enjoyment of the book for me
