This was not a bad book, but not particularly geared towards my tastes. It went on a little too long, dragging in places. I also often felt a little too emotionally detached from the characters. However, the worldbuilding and the writing style (and the fact this is a debut) definitely make me want to check out more from this author, even if this one wasn't a big hit for me.

A gripping epic fantasy that lives up to expectations; balancing pace and gripping action with the depth and detail a novel like this demands.

Since receiving this book, my interests have changed therefore I will not be reading or reviewing this title. Thank you.
