There are better options than this to teach children about the Christian creation story.
First, the content of the text lacks something. I checked a variety of versions of the first chapter of Genesis, both Protestant and Roman Catholic, and I found no version that speaks about angels. The glossary and questions do not seem to add very much to the narration.
Then the illustrations seem odd to me. Some of the animals have smiles that look human. God is wearing a crown and a sarong. The angels wear what look like children's choir robes. None of the pictures show any of the majesty and glory of God's creativity.
Thank you for allowing me to read and review the independently published Weaving World: The Birth of Creation on NetGalley.

A sweet introduction into creation and how God worked. The text is modern storytelling. I could see myself sharing some of the story in the same manner. There is a lot of personality attached. The illustrations are cute and whimsical.
This would be a cute nursery book. I could see myself gifting and/or carrying in a hospital - nursing home visit bag.
I did see there was an audiobook on Hoopla. I listened to this and found the narrator a gem.
All-in-all this was a lovely fun experience.
A charming children's book that beautifully captures the essence of the creation story. It's a perfect introduction for young readers to the fundamental elements of the world's creation, making it both educational and entertaining. The simple yet engaging narrative takes children on a journey through the creation of light, land, plants, and, most importantly, humankind in God's image. The book not only teaches about the power and creativity of God but also emphasizes the message of love and value.
Weaving World: The Birth of Creation is a treasure! This book brings the creation story to life in a way that's perfect for kids. It's like a magical journey through the birth of the world, complete with light, land, and even us – humans! The best part? It reminds us that we are loved and valuable, just like God created us in his image. If you want your children to have a blast while learning about the amazing world we live in, grab a copy of this book now.
Nope, not for me or my daughter. The illustrations didn’t really look that good either. A miss in our home.
Overall, the book told the story of creation and had bright pictures. I don't think it is good for children under 7 years of age. There were a lot of large words that younger children wouldn't understand. Although, I did like that there was a glossary, I felt it didn't have as many words listed as I would've expected. The pictures were very bright, but a little odd, in my opinion. Almost creepy characters, instead of cute ones.
