K. Sato’s writing in this book is fantastic and I would be willing to pick up more novels…as long as they are following different characters. While I did love the tension and spice, I was not a fan of Mia. Let me rephrase. Me being “not a fan” of Mia does not encapsulate the rage that I felt towards her or the times my Kindle almost went flying across the room. I personally prefer my heroines to be strong women and Mia was the complete opposite. While I did empathize with Mia’s struggles, the character almost made me want to walk away from the book.

10-1 is fun, fiery and delicious with heat and intensity emitting off the pages! An enjoyable escapism of a passionate love between two opposing city council members, Mia and Gio. I really appreciated how hot the writing was and also how real the characters were and their struggles. I found both the sexiness and realness to compliment each other well and not detract from one another. As a people-pleaser, Mia must navigate her insecurities and discover what it is she wants in life simply because she herself wants it. Looking forward to the second book in the series!
