I really enjoyed this story, it felt fresh and well written, I enjoyed the who did it, and I really enjoyed the banter and romance between Mark and Danielle. This book keeps the action moving with an interesting premise. It's the second book in the 'Pearl River' series - looking into the second of the 3 musketeers backstory (The musketeers are a group of three women best friends). It's good to have see characters from the previous books making an appearance.

This can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the first book in series so that you meet the characters and understand the backstory a little better. I really enjoy Patricia Bradley books and will be recommending this to others. I couldn't put it down - there's thrills, mystery and romance!

This is the second in the Pearl River Series. This is the first book that I have read by Bradley, and I really enjoyed it. There were plenty of details that made me want to keep on reading. It had intrigue, suspense, romance, and much more that I ended up finishing in one night. The story opens up with Dani seeing her parents’ murder and leaving her hiding place with someone. Then, the book jumps to twenty-five years later. Dani is now a potter and artist who has no memory of her early childhood. Her grandmother Mae has never given up trying to locate Dani and thinks she has found her when she sees a picture of her in a magazine. Mae goes to her neighbor Mark and asks him to find out if this is her granddaughter. Mark then calls Dani and tells her this story about Mae’s granddaughter and that Dani could be her. Dani decides to travel to Pearl River and submit to a DNA test to see if she is actually her granddaughter. Dani wants to know about her past, especially since her Uncle Brian won’t talk about it. When Dani arrives in Pearl River, that is when the trouble begins because someone doesn’t want Dani in town, especially if she remembers who killed her parents. Pick up this book and find out who wants Dani gone and whether she connects with her grandmother, Mae, and Mark. I was not a super big fan of Fatal Witness but I did not hate it either. I am not a huge fan of books with a religious undertone so I just did not get into this book like I would others and that is a personal thing not about the book.
This book was really fast moving and it did have a lot of action in it. It also had a lot of suspects about who the person was behind the murders.
Overall it was a good book but just not my cup of tea and that is why I am giving it the three out of five stars.

The book opens with a young Dani hiding as her parents are murdered. Twenty-five years later Dani has no memory of her life before Montana. She’s been sheltered and taught to be skeptical of the outside world. Dani’s trip to Pearl Springs is a chance to connect with her grandmother and spread her wings while taking back her real identity. Dani’s arrival in Pearl Springs sparks a spree of threats on her life and those around her. In this action packed suspense we follow Dani and Mark as they investigate into Dani’s past revealing the good and the ugly. The author wove an intriguing mystery with multiple suspects. Dani’s memory begins to come back in pieces as the action picks up. A series of events brings this edge of your seat suspense to head as Dani risks her life to put the pieces together and regain all the memories she lost. There’s a fun romance blooming between Dani and Mark as they banter back and forth. Red herrings, twists, and high stakes battles take place in this mystery with an inspirational romance.

This is the second book in the Pearl River series, but they can stand alone, there are recurring characters.

This is a sad story, of a young woman whom is finally reunited with her Grandmother after 25 years, I can't imagine, but this was to keep her safe.

There are a few people in this story whom have embraced evil, and it seems everyone is expendable, but my mind kept changing as to whom the culprit was.

There are big bomb shells dropped and surprises, yes, I really didn't guess whom the was the guilty party, and I was saddened.

This is a page turner, I needed answers, but we are gifted with some sweet romance along dogging bullets!

This is the second book in the Pearl River series. I guess this could be read as a standalone but it’s much better if you read both books. Dani witnessed the murder of her parents when she was a child but has suppressed those memories. Her grandmother has been searching for her for twenty five years and finally believes she has found her. The murderer is determined to keep her from regaining her memory and finding out the truth. Lots of suspense and action. This is a Christian novel but not overly so. Since there was a sneak peek at the end I know there will be more books in this series and I can’t wait. I highly recommend this book and this series.

Whenever I read a book by Patricia Bradley, I know right from the start I will be completely hooked and can hardly turn the pages fast enough.
From the time she was nine years old Danielle Bennett has been raised by her Uncle Keith and his wife. She has no memory of anything prior to that time. She knows both her parents were killed and Uncle Keith took her away and raised her. She does not remember that she was hiding in a cupboard and heard loud booming noises. No does she remember where she lived before her uncle moved her to Montana.
Fast forward twenty-five years and Dani Collins is a well-known artist with a pottery/art studio. She is packing up to head to the University of Cincinnati, where she was asked to teach two classes on sculpture techniques. When the latest copy of Pottery Making Illustrated arrives in the mail, Dani is surprised there is a feature article about her along with a picture of her. Keith always worried when she receives any attention for her art, however, he never gave her any explanation for his fears.
Many miles away in Russell County, Tennessee, seventy-eight-year-old Mae Richmond is working with her potters’ wheel when the mail arrives. In her mail she receives her copy of Pottery Making Illustrated. For twenty-five years Mae has never given up in searching for her granddaughter, and she feels God has not told her to give up. While leafing through the magazine she is stunned when a picture of Dani Collins appears. Is it possible this could be Danielle – the resemblance is remarkable, same golden red hair, blue eyes, and a few freckles across her nose. Mae calls upon her friend and neighbor, officer Mark Lassiter, who locates Dani Collins and asks her to come to Tennessee to meet Mae, who might be her grandmother.
Dani is somewhat dubious, although inquisitive enough to head to Tennessee when she is finished in Cincinnati. If she really has a grandmother, she is determined to meet her. Dani appearance in the small town, complicates things for those who were involved in the death of her parents, and prior to that, the robbery of a jewelry story where many diamonds were stolen. It is apparent that twenty-five years later, there is someone still searching for the diamonds and will do whatever it takes to find them – even kill again.
This fascinating, fast-paced story kept me turning the pages to the very end. Several of the characters have been in previous books of Patricia’s however, I have found each book can be a standalone. I enjoyed meeting these loveable, interesting characters again.

Wow! Another great suspense read! I did guess the murderer before the end.
As a trauma survivor, I have read extensively about amnesia or blocking out memories. The body is an amazingly strong entity, but enough abuse or trauma can overwhelm us to the point that we have to escape or block out memories. While a controversial subject, please do not just write this off as nonsense.
The storyline is very engaging and the characters are well formed.

dani was 9 years old when her uncle took her from the house her parents where just killed in now years later she is teaching a class when she gets a call from mark a policeman who tells her grandmother would like to meet with her. this is a page turning story to the end. it is well written suspense story i was given a copy of the book by netgalley but this is an honest review.

Fatal Witness is another exceptional book by Patricia Bradley, full of intrigue, suspense, and romantic chemistry between Dani and Mark. Twenty five years after her parents were murdered, Dani struggles with dissociative amnesia. Someone is determined she doesn’t remember and Mark does his best to protect her. The book is fast paced and was very hard for me to put down. I loved going back to Pearl Springs and the characters we met in Counter Attack, the first book of the Pearl RIver series. Although it isn’t necessary to read both books, the character development makes it worthwhile. I highly recommend both books in the series and I look forward to the next!

Fatal Witness starts strong, never lets up, and I couldn’t put it down! There were plenty of details that kept me guessing, wonderful characters that I enjoyed getting to know, with a fun return to the community of Pearl Springs and personalities from Counter Attack, the first book in the series (which would not need to be read first, but which I also recommend). Wonderful mystery, sweet romance, and I loved it! Patricia Bradley is a master at romantic suspense!
