Another great read from Kerry Kaya , it took me a few minutes to remember the characters from the earlier books and the introduction of Teri and the other new characters especially Rina who becomes more of a mother to Teri then her actual mum was and hopefully we’ll see more of them in the next book. This was one that had my attention from the start.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Tempest family series. This latest instalment brings in Terri Tempest, the daughter of Bosnia Murphy and Terry Tempest. It was interesting to see her character develop from a scared, young adult after years of abuse at the hands of the Murphy clan to being a force to be reckoned with. I can see future plots lines involving her heavily.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
ww.o.w this book is amazing.
When terri tempest runs away from bianca her mom and her uncle michael who despises her, she decides she is never going back. Terri ends up in a back alley hiding behind a pub.. Rina the landlady takes her into her home and under her wing. When Arnie the landlord is murdered, terri needs revenge for the only man that has been like a father to her.. Terri has 2 half brothers but they have never really acknowledged each others existence or have they??? The gang is on the war path........ A must read for gangland lovers
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.
This is the third book in the authors Tempest series and I found this to be a good, fast paced and thrilling read and a great addition to the series. The book focuses on Terri Tempest, daughter of Bianca and half sister of Ricky and Jamie. I really liked Terri, and also Rina who took her in after she left home. Terri slowly builds a relationship with her father's family and gets to know her half brothers. Not everyone is happy about this though and some want to see her and the Tempest family bought down at all costs. Add in the unexpected return of a previous character (who I loathed) with their own agenda and you're in for a great read. Justice is a well written book that flows easily, and I liked that the story is told through different characters and their perspectives. There are some characters I detested, and I was desperate for them to be found out and get their come uppance. The action and pacing in this book just doesn't let up and grabbed and held my interest from the first page to the last. Terri is determined to prove that she is a Tempest and her introduction into the family business is far from easy although she has support from her brothers. If you like gangland books you'll enjoy this one and I'd recommend it, although I'd say read the previous books so you know the characters and their histories from the start.
4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kerry Kaya has done it again with another fabulous gangland read! This hits the ground running and doesn’t stop. A gritty page turner that continues to follow the lives of the Tempest family. Terri Tempest has always known that she is the daughter of the notorious Terry Tempest. Having grown up within the equally notorious Murphy family she never imagined that she’d end up turning to her half- brothers Ricky and Jamie for help. They have a reputation and she is terrified of them but when tragedy strikes she joins forces with them and sets out to prove that she is not just a Tempest by name. The characters are all believable and I really liked Terri and how she was portrayed. Absolutely brilliant!!
This is Book 3 of the Tempest series, a set of books I have very much enjoyed reading. This maintains the pace and has strong characters.
The character focus shifts in the story and there is only a passing reference to Tracey Tempest and Max Hardcastle (who had prominent roles in the previous two books after Terry Tempest’s death in Book 1). Terri is the daughter of Bianca Murphy and Terry Tempest, and the family comes to know of her only later. There is also Raymond Cole – another of Terry’s sons out of wedlock, besides Ricky and Jamie with his wife Tracey. Terri hates her uncle Michael and escapes him – going over to stay and work with Archie Taylor and Rina who run a pub. Archie faces harassment from Frankie Gammon who threatens him to get him to regularly pay him protection money. Much against his wishes, Archie feels he has no choice but to turn to Ricky & Jamie.
Terri’s character is a refreshing & prominent one in this story, and I loved her vulnerable at the same time spunky character. I also liked the conflict which brews between Ricky, Jamie & Terri vs Raymond, Frankie & Michael. As expected of this genre, there is some gore, but it is limited to a few instances. I would have liked some more depth & complexity to Raymond’s character.
Overall, a good easy relaxing read.
My rating: 4.5 / 5.
This is another very good read in the Tempest family series. It's well written, with good character development, a fast moving plot and plenty of drama. Everything you want in a gangland thriller which fans of the genre will love. thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
Terri Tempest knows that she is a tempest by blood she is afraid of the Murphy as they have a bad reputation
She has to prove that she is a Tempest that she has to join her family
I had an ARC
The easiest 5 stars I've given in a long time! I have enjoyed all of this series and this instalment is the best yet! As the Tempest clan ages so the next generation rises. An excellent read and I eagerly await the next instalment.
Fantastic possibly the best book I’ve read all year, one of my favourite authors of all time, brilliant from start to finish
another great read from this Author I love this series. Teri Tempest hates her life her mum never cared for her and her uncle Michael. Hates her of who her father is.it gets so bad for her as she flees. From her home. in just her nightie on a cold night she hides in the back yard of the pub and the owner Rina, and her husband take her in. Rina knows who her brothers are and wants Teri to go see them and she does. Rina and her husband have their own problems. the two Tempest brothers have a big problem two. Someone is trying to take over their manor and they have to find out who it is another brilliant read from this author.
Absolutely amazing third book following “The Tempest” clan, didn’t think it could get better but Kerry surpassed my expectations. As always full of the brutality of ganglands but with the compassion of love and family, with such a brilliant story line. Totally recommend all three of these books, you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait for number 4, I’ll be first in the queue, brilliant writer, I adore her work .
Justice is the third book in the Tempest series and wow this is another fully action-packed episode in the series. We are introduced to Terri Tempest, who is half sister to the Tempest brothers and her mother is Bianca Murphy, who she lives with and Uncle Micheal. They have never really cared about her. As, she is the splitting mage of her father Terry. So, she gets the courage to leave them in the dead at night and slowly enters the Tempest family fold.
This is another gripping, edge of your seat thriller, full of action and family feuds and turf wars and love this like the others in the series. I couldn’t get enough. This is the continuation of the story, so I am glad I read the previous book before I read this one recently to know what is going on. If you need to read a book that you need to teeth into. I would read this. I highly recommend. 5 stars from me.
The Tempest series book three.
Blood will be spilled and justice will be done.
London Dagenham.
Terri Tempest uncle Michael is out after a long stretch in prison and he despised her, she's Terry Tempest daughter, she looks like him and carries his name.
Sixteen years old she has to get away right now, now consequences of her actions didn't bear thinking about, she and her brothers were strangers and always would be.
Jonny Carter is a handsome devil and Terri is smitten with him, but he knows he is no good for her.
Oh my goodness, this is one slap bang wallop read the best in the series, full of action, and not for the faint hearted,
Families that are all out for revenge as well as justice doing it their way.
Top class read once again from Kerry, loving this series.
WOW What can I say about this book other than it's a gripping on the edge of your seat story Involving the Tempest Family. When Someone Poaches on Their Turf The Brothers Ricky and Jamie are on The Case and Determined to get Even. Excellent Book 5*
Really love the Tempest's and this the 3rd book in the series was just perfect,we get to know Terri Tempest how she has the courage to leave the Murphy family and find her rightful place in the Tempest family at last.
The writing is so good that you're hooked from the first page feeling ike you're part of the action,so stop what your doing put your feet up and enjoy the ride.
A perfect gangland thriller..
Highly recommended.
Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC.
3rd book in the ‘The Tempests’ series and the author and the characters,we have grown to love or hate or be wary of depending on who it was we are reading about, are back…..and back with a bang, creating chaos, dealing justice out as they see fit and coming to terms with family ‘problems’ that should have been dealt with before
It’s an explosive, full on,real life read,as always and Book 3 shows no signs of fatigue in the story,if anything the stakes are higher and the action even more chilling
I would say you need to read the previous 2 books as it is a continuation of the story and the characters…..a hard hitting no holds barred book that brings together all of this talented authors skills in creating this series
