PHOEBE MACLEOD - NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER
Just as our queen said...LIKE EVER!
This one was a quick rom-com read, an easy story to follow, a bit predictable, but perfect if you're not looking for a depressing non-fiction read!
It's fast paced, but the characters are not very well mapped out for my taste.
This was a very easy read, very predictable, a little far-fetched but a book that filled a Sunday afternoon void.
Fairly predictable rom com but it was still a good read that I enjoyed. I'm not a fan of these type of chance romances. When it's too short a time period for you to believe that he's actually change.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Never Ever Getting Back Together by Phoebe MacLeod. This is another cute romance by MacLeod.
Ten years ago Jamie Ferguson broke Jess Thomas’ heart, and now he is the best man at the wedding she is catering. He doesn’t seem to remember her, and she tries to keep her head down, focus on her catering business, and avoid him… But when her car breaks down, she can no longer avoid him, and the fun begins. I enjoyed this book.
Thank you to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my feedback.
Meh, it was okay. I found the characters to be mostly unlikeable. Very predictable. Liked it enough to finish, but would probably not read anything involving these characters again.
I previously read Someone Else's Honeymoon from the author and I liked it, but this one didn't do it for me.
I must admit I went into it for the title (huge Swiftie), and also because of the author, but the plot doesn't make any sense.
Jess is a successful businesswoman with her own catering business, yet she acts like she's 15 years old. She lost her virginity at a party to her crush who had never spoken to her before and "dumped" her the next day, although they never dated. So they had no way of "getting back together" because there was no relationship in the first place.
She acted like a child, although Jamie was nice enough and he was really an innocent, as much as I'd hate to admit that.
I couldn't get past 20% or more, as much as I tried.
*Thank you to Netgalley, Boldwood Books for providing me with this e-arc INE change for an honest review.*
This was an easy, if predictable, read. It was fast paced, which hindered the experience. And I can’t seem to get over the FMC being obsessed with the one guy for so long. But for him to have a secret daughter? Pass.
This one was okay, but felt like there was a lot of fluff mixed in to the main plot line that didn't really matter.
This was a childhood classmates to lovers to enemies to friends to lovers story. The story follows Jess. When she was in high school she was obsessed with a popular boy named Jamie. One day she went to a high school party, and after Jamie miraculously broke up with his girlfriend, they flirt a little and sleep with one another. He said he would text to plan a date for them to go one, only for her to receive a text from him stating he got back together with his ex.
From that moment on Jess hated Jamie. She planned to never see him again, but unfortunately the career path she chose thought differently. 10 years later, Jess runs a successful bakery and catering business with her business partner. After signing on for a wedding, she runs into no one other than Jamie. And she lets him have it. She tells him exactly what he did to her, and he feels awful. So he does everything in his power to make her think differently of him. Thus begins their love story.
It was pretty cheesy and cliche. There were a lot of moments I was kinda over the story, and ready to start reading something else. Overall, it wasn't anything too special, but it wasn't terrible.
The book Never Ever Getting Back Together was an enjoyable read. I would recommend any book written by Phoebe MacLeod. Happy Reading!
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Loved this! Jessica ihas a big job booked to cater the wedding of Eloidie who she used to go to school with. She knows that Jamie; a past crush will be there. Jamie broke her heart as a teenager and she wants nothing to do with him. When Jess’ car breaks down in a dark country lane; Jamie finds and rescues her…is he really the same boy he was as a teenager? And does he even realise why Jess’ wants nothing to do with him? loved this lighthearted book.
This was a cute light-hearted story. I really love the way they re-start the relationship. All the boundaries, self-restraint, and building trust for each other before jumping head first into the relationship making their relationship and every intimate scenes are worth the wait!
Such a delightfully fun and cute romantic comedy! I was pulled into the story right from the beginning and completely engrossed till the end. Jess runs a successful catering business. She's not interested and doesn't really have time for love. But when catering for a wedding she comes to find the best man is the one man she never got over, and he doesn't even remember her. Things become a little more than awkward, and she does her best to avoid him, but then her car breaks down on the way home, and Jamie is the one to stop and help her. Jamie wants nothing more to prove to Jess that he is not the same man she met all those years ago and has changed for the better. But can a person really change that much? Dare she give him another chance?
The book definitely left me with a smile on my face and a happy feeling afterwards. The characters were entertaining and well-developed and I enjoyed getting to know them and follow their story. The story was delightfully cute and I really enjoyed it. If you're looking for a fun, quick and light read, that will put a smile on your face then you definitely will want to pick this one up.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This was a second-chance romance which is one of my favorite tropes. I did find the FMC a little hard to connect with, but overall enjoyed the story.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance e-arc.
A high school crush leading to heartache and years of hurt, anger and humiliation. Fast forward years later and a chance run-in at a wedding,
Jess started a catering company with her best friend and has a knack for creating delicious menus. Jamie, a sales manager of luxury cars comes in to rescue Jess like a Knight in shining armor.
Wanting to be resistant to his charms Jess opens up to Jamie about the past and how much he hurt her all those years ago.
The story moved pretty quickly and it was a fun, light, easy read!
This reminds me of my favorite Taylor, Swift song, and it did not disappoint me at all. I loved it so much.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of Never Ever Getting Back Together by Phoebe MacLeod.
Oof this one was not my favorite. I found the main characters annoying and caused unnecessary drama. I wanted to DNF but powered through.
I had a hard time liking this book, unfortunately. The characters were behaving very immature and childish. Jessica was very dramatic - there were a LOT OF drama for no reason? I didn't get the romance between them at all? No this book was just not for me.
I received a advanced copy of 'Never Ever Getting Back Together' form Netgalley. It was second change love story. One big bombshell she finds out... can she adjust find herself in his new life and family. It was a cute story , however was not my favorite.
