That's one perfect page turner. I was hooked right from the first page. I finished reading it in just one sitting.
This is my first book from the author and I think I will be reading more. All the characters were so well drafted and every twist in the story left me in awe.
Thanks netgalley and Bookouture for the arc. Views are all mine.

Thank You NetGalley, Bookouture, and Nicole Trope for sending me this ARC. This was my first Nicole Trope book and it had me engaged, curious and captivated the entire time. Originally I thought the storyline was a bit obvious of how it would turn out but there were so many twists in between that I didn’t expect most of them. I was glued to this book and had to know what was going to happen next.
All of the characters had traits that were likable but also none of them were that innocent. This psychological thriller definitely messed with my mind and had me questioning if anything was the truth or all an act. Which is exactly what I think Nicole Trope was trying to portray. I enjoyed the different timelines because it gave you a sense of why the characters did the actions they did.
I liked the way there were so many shocking twists throughout the book and the ending was the perfect shock. I would highly recommend this book that has the perfect drama and suspense. I gave this book 4/5 stars!

Once again, author Nicole Trope has produced a gripping, psychological thriller with twists and turns. Ms. Trope uses an exemplary writing style, which emotes empathy, disdain, and tension while reading the novel. The main character Katelyn is celebrating her 36th birthday, but somehow the night ends, not with raucous fun, but with her laying in a hospital bed with no recollection of how she got there, or even the events of the evening. Katelyn has been diagnosed with a form of amnesia that limits her ability to recall the events of the evening. She innately knows that something has happened, but she can’t fully recall the events. There were two different points of view in this story, Katelyn’s and Leah’s. This certainly contributed to the character development and permitted the reader more insight into the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. This book had all of the main facets of a psychological thriller, drama and unpredictable twists. I could not put this book down. I highly recommend this novel and this author. I will be seeking out ALL of her books. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

This eye-catching cover is worth 5 stars all by itself. When I saw how much my friend theliteralleprechaun praised this new title, I was hooked. Had to read it for myself. It is quite the page-turner, my friends. Katelyn can't remember what happened at her own birthday party. Blackout drunk? Nope! She suffered from transitory global anemia. What triggered the condition? What secrets are her husband Toby and best friend Leah keeping from her? What about Leah's ex Aaron? He wants her to call if she needs to "talk." Shedding light on the unusual nature of TGA as well as the stresses of IVF and toxic friendships, this one will keep you guessing until the very last page.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.

A quick read with a few twists to keep the reader guessing. Note: The book actually starts more than one day after the party, but that’s not as catchy a title.

Katelyn’s amnesia, the main plot driver, hid a number of things, but it actually revealed cracks in her decades long friendship with Leah. As Katelyn and her husband Toby try to work through the confusion of what exactly was happening to her at the party, outside parties, like Leah and her ex-husband Aaron, use this time of uncertainty to prey on the couple.

This book had a lot of things I like: friendship betrayal, dual POV, short chapters that switch between the key event (the party) and events that both led to it and came from it. I liked it enough that I’d read another buy the author.

Thanks to NetGalley for the digital ARC.

What a twist.

It’s Katelyn’s party, but when she wakes up on the hospital not remembering anything, what went on at the party and why can’t she remember.

The book goes back and forth before the party and after, it’s a great psychological thriller, that has a great twist. It’s an edge of your seat read. The characters are great to read about and it’s a quick read.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

I have read many Nicole Trope novels. While this wasn't my favorite, it was still a fun read.

For some unknown reason I am drawn to books that include memory loss. That is what drew me to this one besides being an author that I like.

Leah and Katelyn have been friends since they were young despite their very different life circumstances. Now, Katelyn is married to Toby and has planned a fun birthday party for herself. Things do not go as planned. Katelyn wakes up the next day in the hospital with no memory of what happened at the party. Those around her are acting strangely and no one will tell her what she can't remember.

I liked reading about how they characters all met and what has happened over the years. I liked the characters well enough but can't honestly say I had a favorite. The memory loss portions were quite interesting to me. All in all a good read.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

This read started off with a bang but went downhill from there, IMO. Just hard to follow & not believable. Really cool premise but didn’t live up to my expectations.

I have read many of Nicole Trope books before but I feel this book wasn't one of her greatest books.

The story begins with Katelyn and her husband Toby inviting guests for her thirty-sixth birthday party. But then soon the next day, Katelyn finds herself in a hospital with no memory of what really happened the night at the party. She tries to regain her memory by asking her husband question but her husband is very evasive about that night. What really happened that night?

As I mentioned earlier, this wasn't her greatest novel although it was OK in my opinion. The pacing in this book was slow, half of the book describing about Katelyn's friendship with Leah and their marriage life. There wasn't much twists and turns in the book and only the ending was a bit OK. The story divides between past and the present that describes what happened the night before Katelyn was taken to the hospital. Overall this book worth 3 stars.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

I can always count on Trope to provide a good read that will keep my mind busy for a few hours.
As I because immersed in the chapters I tried to break down the facts and then piece them together to glean a fuller picture. Things were not adding up. I knew which friend was a hollow, spiteful one.
Then as more juicy tidbits were revealed I did have moments of wow!
It’s literally a suspenseful read and the end is the best.
Sometimes all you need is a shove.

thank you to @bookouture & @nicoletrope for my early copy of the day after the party!!

i haven’t read anything from this author before but i was pleasantly surprised - this is a thriller which isn’t my fave genre but i really enjoyed it 🤩

the book has a dual pov & timeline which i love and the mystery kicks in right from the beginning! it’s a pretty typical thriller but it keeps you guessing right until the end 👀

the ending was also really tense! i’d deffo recommend it if you’re looking for a quick thriller that will keep you guessing 🤍

I have loved all of Nicole Trope’s books and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. This was a twisty psychological thriller that had me gripped from start to finish. The main characters were quite unlikeable but that just added to the enjoyment of the book. Throughout enjoyable read

Two lifelong best friends , one from a deprived background, the other a loving supportive home life and childhood. When adversity strikes, a fracture occurs in the friendship with jealousy and subterfuge covertly hidden. A high profile party explodes in a catastrophic incident resulting in a terrifying medical condition compounded by recriminations and memory loss exacerbating an already fragile situation . That each believes the other has proven unworthy of the trust and loyalty of a lifetime friendship spirals out of control. The complications of a breach in the foursome relationship is the close friendship enjoyed by their partners who also exhibit attraction to the others wife. A domestic drama of young couples struggling to find fulfilment in the life they live with the partner they have as opposed to the lure of the opportunities missing in their lives. A somewhat melodramatic conclusion in which the two protagonists are convinced there can be only one winner with both moving from friendship to hatred. The two female protagonists are well written three dimensional personalities struggling between love and hate, denial and dependency from a long past history not easily discarded. Less attention and depth is given to the depiction of the other characters who often become bit players in a family tragedy. . A good premise for a dramatic battle of wits between two women with strong ties and a long history diluted somewhat by the need to provide an acceptable if not altogether believable ending . Many thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

What did I just read! Absolutely gripping drama that I couldn’t put down. The book is so twisty and full of jaw dropping moments that I couldn’t turn the page’s fast enough. This book literally covers so many topics but they all gel together really well. I felt so many emotions reading this story and thought the ending was fantastic. I will definitely be looking for Nicole Trope’s back catalogue after reading this book. I highly recommend this one and it is definitely a 5 star read in my opinion. Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review.

Birthdays are happy occasions, as well as unforgettable ones. Katelyn has planned her birthday party to be one of those happy days. However, her birthday party did not end the way she planned. She has woken up in a hospital room with no memory of what happened that night. Her husband is acting a little strange, but he tells her everything is fine. Katelyn knows that something is not right, but she has no clue just how bad that night ended.

This book is told from two points of view - Katelyn and her best friend, Leah. It also takes you back in time showing how their friendship came to be and blossomed. I could feel the tension seeping off of the pages, especially from Leah, but this seemed odd coming from her best friend. This must have been a party for the ages. This book has all of the makings of a great psychological thriller with jealousy, betrayal and lies, as well as tension and suspense. It is a mind game for Katelyn, as well as the reader. The hits just kept coming. The twists were gasp worthy. I could not go to sleep until I finished this book. I had to find out just exactly what happened that fateful night. Don't let the cute book cover fool you, there is nothing sweet about this book. By the way, trust no one.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a fun, quick psych thriller! What I thought was happening, wasn't. You didn't know whose perspective was accurate, which made it such a page turner. What really happened?! Def recommend this one!

Thanks to Netgalley & the publishers for the ARC! This is a fun book, told from the perspective of two best friends, Katelyn & Leah. Following Katelyn's birthday party, she wakes up in the hospital with no recollection of anything that happened the night before. She begins to remember small details from that party, which causes her to question her relationship with her supposed best friend, Leah. It's a fast & fun read, and I recommend it for those who like unreliable narrators & flashback style narratives.

So, straight up this is brain candy.

It’s suspenseful, twisty, and full of toxic personalities.

The author definitely misled me more than once and I found myself seriously worried about our main character – the other characters, not so much!

Thoroughly entertaining!
