TALK ABOUT ADDICTIVE!!!
This was a super fast paced and intriguing thriller.
Katelyn has a party for her 36th Birthday but wakes up in the hospital shortly after and has no idea what happened that night & we go through in multiple timelines (present, during the party, and childhood) to see what exactly happened.
I really loved how addictive this was & by the end of the book I was turning the page faster than I was reading. I NEEDED TO KNOW OKAY?!?!
I really enjoyed this one!
4.5/5 for me!

***** I have received and read an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for giving my honest feedback. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.*****
I love the concept of this book, but the execution was just the tiniest bit lacking for me.
The twists and turns were nice, but everything felt just a little bit too overdramatic for my tastes.
Not terrible at all, just not great either.

I gave this book 3/5 stars! It's my first book by the author and at first going back and forth between the different times before, after, during the party etc with the two FMC got a little confusing but once I started to actually get to know the characters it was easier. I kind of guessed most of the twists so it wasn't like shockingly crazy for me but it was still good! I am glad I read it and appreciate the opportunity to have been able to read it. Once the ending started I kind of knew how it was going to end, but at least I didn't know until we got there! Thanks again NetGalley and publishing team for allowing me to get access to this book in exchange for my review.

Trope is definitely a go-to author for me. She always writes something fresh and new. She sprinkles little shockers throughout her books and always ends you with a bang. This book was no different!
I did start getting a little annoyed at the repetition because it was told from different POVs. But it didn't ruin the book!

This book was better than I expected. Intriguing from the beginning. A lot of twists throughout and definitely didn’t expect the ending. I was hooked from the first few chapters

If you are a fan of the type of thriller where you are drip fed part of the story very gradually then this book is for you. Katelyn can't remember what happened at her party and certainly doesn't understand how she ended up in hospital. It was just a few friends over to celebrate her birthday so why can't she remember anything? Katelyn's confusion and fear about what happened is so well described you can feel her frustration and annoyance. Why won't anyone tell what is going on? Why won't her best friend Leah answer her calls and why on earth is she getting weird texts from Leah's ex. This story gripped me straight away and I loved every perplexing moment. Every time I thought I had it all figured out there would be.another twist right up until the shocking dénouement. Nicole Trope:s books are always exciting, surprising and original and this one definitely comes up to her usual standard
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

Thank you Netgalley, Nicole Trope and Bookouture for allowing me to read the advanced readers copy of The Day After the Party published on October 30, 2023.
“The perfect birthday or the perfect nightmare? Katelyn smiles around at her husband and friends, gathered to celebrate her thirty-sixth birthday in their beautiful home decorated with fairy lights. But the next day Katelyn wakes up shaken and terrified in a hospital bed... She doesn't remember the sweet taste of birthday cake icing, or how angry her best friend was at midnight, or the terrible things her husband said. She doesn't remember the party at all. When she asks her husband what happened the night of the party he says
'nothing. But her blood runs cold at the way his voice lilts slightly. The way it always does when he is lying. Did someone at the party harm her? What is her husband hiding?
Or did Katelyn herself do something terrible? Only one thing is certain. Nobody can be trusted. And if Katelyn's memories of the party do come back, it will tear them all apart...”
Will she be able to get her memories back before it’s too late?
Nicole Trope does it again!!
Great can't turn the pages fast enough thriller.
Great characters that intertwine both good and bad!! Loved everything about this book!!

I love this author. She never disappoints. I will read anything by her. And this book was just wow. Gripping and completely addictive - from the first page to the last, I was hooked. Loved the characters, felt for them. Just wow.

If you watch soap operas this book is definitely for you. It definitely held my interest but wasn't necessarily what I was expecting. Still not a bad book.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Nicole Trope is one of my favourite author's her books never disappoint. This book was no exception, full of twists, turns and thills. I'm looking forward to the next book from this talented writer.

This is one of those books that you need to clear your whole schedule for because every time you say one more chapter or one more page you end up reading a whole lot more. Its so suspenseful and keeps leaving you on cliff hangers which prevent you from putting it down. It was an amazing book and if you haven't already read it you need to do so fast. Nicole knows how to do psychological thrillers for sure and she did not disappoint in this one.

In the beginning of this book I couldn’t put it down. It kept drawing me in, wanting to know what happened at this party. I can say it didn’t expect the ending the way it happened. I really wished that the ending would have been better. Like the secret really wasn’t anything amazing in my eyes. Who needs enemies when your friends do this type of stuff. All in all Leah deserved what she got in the end!!

All Katelyn wanted as the perfect birthday. She wakes up in the hospital unable to remember anything. Her best friend hates her and her husband says nothing happened but the way he says it is off putting to say the least! i couldn't put it down!

Nicole Trope's "The Day After the Party" proved to be a compelling page-turner!
Katelyn's birthday celebration turns into a mystery when she wakes up in the hospital with amnesia, unable to recall the events of the previous night. Her husband, Toby, and best friend, Leah, appear to be concealing something, and as Katelyn pieces together fragments of memories a web of intrigue unfolds. Amidst the uncertainty, questions linger about Leah's ex-husband and the promised gallery funds.
The writing style immerses the reader and skilfully invites us to unravel the full picture of that fateful night. "The Day After the Party" was my introduction to Trope's work, and I'm already looking forward to exploring more of her novels.

Every book I have read by this author I have loved and ended up reading in one or two sittings. This book "The Day After the Party" by Nicole Trope was no different and it was another excellent book especially as it was full of twists and turns throughout that just had you gripped from the very first page till the end. It was fast paced and a great page turner which made it a great quick read, great for your holidays or your day off.
The perfect birthday or the perfect nightmare?
How exciting, I love birthdays........Katelyn smiles around at her husband and all her friends, they are all gathered to her beautiful house to celebrate her thirty-sixth birthday. Katelyn's home is all decorated with fairy lights and every one twinkles, it all looks so pretty. But the very next day Katelyn wakes up shaken and terrified in a hospital bed….....How did she get here?
She doesn’t remember the sweet taste of birthday cake icing, or how angry her best friend was at midnight, or the terrible things her husband said.
She doesn’t remember the party at all. What happened?
She asks her husband what happened the night of the party he says ‘nothing’. But her blood runs cold at the way his voice lilts slightly.
The way it always does when he is lying. But, Why?
Did someone at the party harm her?
What is her husband hiding?
Or did Katelyn herself do something terrible?
Only one thing is certain. Nobody can be trusted. And if Katelyn’s memories of the party do come back, it will tear them all apart….....
WoW.....This book was so good
I highly recommend The Day After the Party another 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Thank you, Netgalley and Bookouture, for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the secrets and twist and turns in this book, but at times I thought the cliffhangers were a bit too much yet that made me want to keep reading 😆. I

THE DAY AFTER THE PARTY by Nicole Trope was a serious page turner that kept me reading well past bedtime.
Katelyn celebrates her birthday with a big party that she can’t even remember. No, not from drinking, she comes to the next day in the hospital with amnesia to the whole event. Her husband, Toby and best friend, Leah seem to be hiding something from her about what happened last night. And didn’t Leah’s ex-husband say he would provide the money to open her own gallery? Katelyn struggles to put the pieces together even while different scenes flash through her mind; a whisper here, a look there, call logs. Was her amnesia caused by stress, or anxiety or was it something she did or saw?
It was very fun to see how the different flashes fit into the full picture of what really went down that night. I really enjoyed Ms. Trope’s writing style and could feel myself dancing away and lifting a glass in celebration. I believe that this is my first Nicole Trope novel but it certainly will not be my last.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily.

The Day After the Party follows childhood best friends Katelyn and Leah throughout their school years when they meet to their mid-30s. Katelyn throws a party for her 36 but awakes in the hospital unable to remember the events of the night. What caused her memory loss and just how honest is her husband and friendship circle being with her?

This book was a real miss for me. The concept was so promising, but its execution just fell flat.
SPOILER, so keep reading if you aren't interested.
But a 30-something year old woman who convinces herself (and thinks she can convince those around her) that she can just switch places with her best friend? Be the mom to her friend's child and just become her husband's new wife? Just trade places and it's all cool? WHAT ON EARTH.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC. My first book by this author and I enjoyed this quick, easy, but fun domestic thriller.
