Excellent introductory sampler to this standalone novel about Prince Envy. If you liked Kerry Maniscalco's Kingdom of the Wicked series this is the book for you. It's a potent mixture of sexy demon prince meets Regency heroine, who, in the tradition of Austen's Eliza Bennett, is very unimpressed by his charms and refuses to help him with a vital part of his quest to save his kingdom. I can't wait to read the rest of the story!

I will read literally anything that Kerri Maniscalco writes and this was no exception! I loved getting a look into the other Wraths! It was so fun and steamy!

Thank you to Netgalley and Hodder Books for the advance of the first 67 pages of this book.

Throne of the Fallen follows the Prince of Envy drawn into a deadly game to save his falling demon court. The game is full of riddles, hexed objects and other anonymous players.

Envy meets local artist Camilla Antonius who is being blackmailed by a notorious rake in the community to paint forged paintings.

To avoid ruin she must strike a devil's bargain with Envy and thus be drawn into the game he is playing.

I can't give my overall opinion on this title as I have only read the first 67 pages. However so far I have found the story very enjoyable much like the prior series the Kingdom of the Wicked. This excerpt has made me want to read the rest of the book and I look forward to finishing it.

The opening few pages are much better than Kingdom of the Wicked. Camilla and Envy appear to be fascinating characters to read about. Thank you to NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton for providing this sampler.

An excellent addition to the KOTW world! The first trilogy was amazing but this book was even better if that's even possible. It felt like a breath of fresh air, every page was engaging and kept me wanting more. The mystery was super well done and the romance was exactly what I wanted.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy.

This got me super excited to read the book - It was so amazing to be swept away into the same world but from new perspectives. I am so excited to finish this one and get all the feels that the KOTW series gave...

After reading this, not realizing this was just a sampler, I decided to get my hands on the full book immediately and I have zero regrets!

Let's be honest here. I might be biased because I adore the world of our seven wicked princes, but I was so glad to be back in this world, I enjoyed the hell (pun intended) out of this!
Was this book perfect? No, it's not, but I found myself unable to put this down, and while some of the revelations didn't exactly come as a surprise to me, I didn't even mind it tbh.

I'm glad we got to see some Wrath and Emilia and the other princes as well. Camilla was such a sassy and headstrong female lead, I just love her! I also freaking adore Envy, and they had some serious chemistry together that actually had me swooning. I also think this book had one of the longest smutty scenes I've ever read, and that says a lot!

The ending was great, and I hope to be read many more books in this universe, hopefully with Pride being next!

I am obsessed. I of course love the Kingdom of the Wicked Trilogy. It’s we’re I first fell for Envy and the first 5 chapters just proved my he is one of my favorite Wicked Princes. I also am lovely Camilla she is a take no prisoners independent woman. They both make me wish I either cared about art but more importantly they make me wish I was good at drawling or painting. I am exciting to see Envy fall on his ass for her and see how he goes about winning his game. Overall these first five chapters have me even more exciting to read for this book and desperate for a follow up books on the other five brothers more specifically Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, and Pride of course Greed.

Couldn't tell much from this small sample but the chapters that I've been able to read seem too exessive with filler details. Considering this is 627 pages long, if fantasy is not your favorite genre I don't thing this will be something you'll actually enjoy.

Another book I couldn’t put down, I really enjoyed this book! I have loved everything written by this author so far and I can’t wait for more! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this introductory extract and am looking forward to reading more of the book! I think the intro to the characters was good and the story so far is compelling. Only 3 stars just because it’s only an extract but I have high how’s for the full book.

A very fun start to an exciting book. I read the excerpt then went out and bought it in hardback because I was desperate to read the rest. Camilla and Envy are my favourites from this universe by far. Fun, flirty, dangerous and spicy. This is a book to be devoured!

This was just a short sampler, but gave a flavour of what’s to come - a painter who’s caught between scandals, being used as a pawn in a game of devilish immortals. It was intriguing but too early to say if it’ll follow a classic romantasy pattern. Some of the spice hints felt artificially engineered early - like the random lusty imaginings characters are gripped by - but I guess Kerri is writing for an audience that wants this; not sure it’s me!

An absolutely amazing start to the book! I’ve already been gripped and I can’t wait to continue the story when the whole thing comes out!

I really enjoyed this sample, it had my attention from the start! Camilla and Envy seem like interesting characters so far and I can’t wait to see what happens between them. I am excited forward to exploring more of this fascinating world!

Sample feedback - I have loved being back in Kerri Maniscalco's world - the idea of Hell and the seven demon princes are just too smart. While i have now read the whole book, Envy and Camilla own my heart. I wonder who the next one will be about though - Pride or Sloth??

I was a big fan of the first two books of kingdom of the wicked, and so I’ve been really excited to pick this one up. I really enjoyed this one (obviously, by the star rating), I definitely feel like I was more invested in Envy and Camilla than I was Wrath and Emilia.

The plot of this book was the highlight for me, I loved the uncovering of the different clues and how they figured it out, I loved being able to visit different areas of Hel and we had a whole new realm, Waverly Green, which is supposed to be like London I think. Sometimes when books are set in the same world it can get very samesy, but that wasn’t the case with this one.

I also loved Envy and Camilla. I felt like they fit together very well, and we get to see a lot more behind Envy’s facade in this one as in kingdom of the wicked he was very much the ‘idc’ brother. He’s very much written for those who fall for the villain and I can guarantee if you’re an envy fan you’re also team Damon lol. Camilla was a very strong willed, knew what she wants kind of woman and they’re my favourite in fantasy so I can only hope we see more of her in future books.

My only issue with this book, and it was the same with kingdom of the feared, is the amount of spice. It just happens at the most odd times and it just got very boring towards the middle hearing all about the lust between the two of them that neither wanted to act on but then they did. I won’t lie, I skipped most of these scenes. I honestly think there’s just a genre wide issue of putting in spicy scenes as this is what they think readers want, but I don’t want to read that in the middle of a plot point.

The next book in this series was lined up too, which I’m excited for to finally get to the bottom of that brothers issues.

I'm so glad I preordered this book! It's just arrived but the first few chapters were a delight.

I've really enjoyed reading Kerry's books and let's be real - we all love a bit of Envy!! I can't wait to get my copy so I can continue! Thank you!

4.25/5 stars! I really enjoyed this adult entry by Kerri Maniscalco. There was the right level of spice but also a developed storyline, filled with intrigue to keep me interested. I loved Camilla and Envy as characters and liked seeing characters from the original trilogy pop up. I think I'm most interested in Sloth's story moving forward. My only complaint is that the spice scenes, while spicy, felt a little bit meh at things.
