This book is great. For anyone loves to doing puzzles, this is brilliant. I love how many different word searches there are, getting harder and bigger as you go on in the book. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Definitely only for youngsters, this is proof that you can do a wordsearch book for them very well, if you put a bit of effort in. Yes we start with a small grid – just an 8x8 spread of letters to begin with – and yes we only have eight very easy to find words for each (none of that pesky down-right to upper-left diagonal stuff, at least to start with) – but it's enough for a young mind perhaps not used to this kind of thing yet. Also, every ten or twenty puzzles we get a special one, where the word list is bigger and the unused letters spell out a hidden entry, training us to fill in the wordsearch grid carefully and giving us validation that we're doing it right (who has actually ever looked at the answers page of one of these books?!).
And without fanfare we soon get to 10x10 grids, and then the 12x12 ones, with suitable change up in complexity. We're looking for more and longer words, and the one with all V-words wouldn't be too out of place in an all-ages puzzle magazine. The way the hidden word from the unused letters there is so on topic and appropriate shows this is no shoddy knocked-up book, and overall the topics used for the themed puzzles are really on point. And being reasonably priced in this day and age for a use-once book, makes me think this is five star material. Worth the search!
