This book was so. freaking. good. I was hooked from the very beginning of the book until the absolute last page. I adored all of the characters and would love to get to know more of them in other books. Going into this book I wasn’t sure how much romance was gonna be involved with the plot of a hitman but wow! It was one of my favorite Christmas reads so far!
I received an advanced reader's copy of How the Hitman Stole Christmas by Katie Reus from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Overall, I quite enjoyed this novel and it made for a quick, easy read. The main characters - Elliana and Theo - were an interesting match but they totally worked as a couple! Their banter was entertaining, they had wicked chemistry, and they were pretty adorable together. This novel was well written and the plot was engaging from start to finish.
I loved everything about this book, it was all kinds of whack-a-doodle fun in the best ways. A quick, fun, and steamy holiday read with a twist.
Thank you to #NetGalley and KR Press, LLC for the chance to read an early copy. ~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise~
I absolutely loved Theo in How the Hitman Stole Christmas. I loved that he fell fast and hard for Elliana and he proved he would do anything to keep her safe. I especially loved when his family got involved. This was a fun little novella and it has me wanting to read more for Christmas!
This seems like a fun juicy Christmas read! If a reader is looking for something a bit more in the spicy side this would be absolutely perfect! I cannot wait to share more thoughts and a full review, but this is a nice exciting alternative to the typical women’s fiction Christmas offerings.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Overall 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 as I enjoyed it and can't do half stars).
I enjoyed the plot and how easy it was to read and follow. Definitely a quick and fun holiday read. Although the holiday theme is more about the time of year than a theme itself of the book throughout.
I do wish there was a little bit more spice and tension before the plot started moving. Although we time the time frame the characters knew each other however wish that some backstory or lead up was explored a bit more.
I'm not really a fan of 'instalove' type of books however it worked for this one. The theme and feelings started from the beginning so it fit better than out of the blue that usually happens in books I've read.
Overall I thought this was a fun read and would read again.
How The Hitman Stole Christmas was hands down a five star book.
I loved that it was fast paced, yet the relationship didn’t feel rushed.
While this book was spicy and the spotlight was on romance, it still had amazing plot! I am so happy when I can find a good romance book with actual plot.
If you like a good grumpy vs sunshine, morally gray mc and badass female lead, this book is for you!!

This is not your typical Christmas story. It’s got some quirky characters. It’s fun and delightful. Not what you’d expect from a hit man book. I laughed a lot.
How the Hitman Stole Christmas (Holiday With a Hitman Book 1) by Katie Reus
I never thought I would be on a hitman's side - but Katie made me love him. Elliana hates Christmas and she loves spying on her neighbor Theo, who just happens to be a hitman. She gets the courage to talk to him and discovers a murder. When Theo discovers a contract on Elliana, he kidnaps her to save her - and the fun begins. There is angst, laughs - lots, some tears, discovery, fear, steam, wonderful friends and new family, a new love of Christmas and a very Hea. I look forward to more books in this series.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Page-turner Funny Wonderful characters Scary Entertaining Romantic Unpredictable Easy-to-read
Elliana has been spying on her neighbour Theo for months. When she gathers the courage to talk to him, she stumbles into a murder that he has committed because he's a hitman.
I love how Elliana is an explosive expert and how Theo is a hitman. Those are definitely very unconventional jobs. They are fun together. I love their interactions with each other..... Great banter and terrific chemistry. It's steamy and more importantly- fun!
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
