This beautifully illustrated book encourages girls to explore their dreams and follow their hearts as they can do anything they set their mind to.
This book has the common premise that girls can be anything and can have all the same jobs a boy can have. This seemed a bit unoriginal as many, many children’s books are written to support this. In fact, in today’s culture that encourages working women, it is refreshing for us parents to see books encouraging the opposite. That girls are unique and can have roles like motherhood intended specifically for them.
*thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this book. All opinions are my own and from my own free will. Thank you!
This was a fun little story. I enjoyed the illustrations and the lyric/rhyme of the words. It is a good choice to have on the shelf for story-time, but doesn't have the read again immediately quality.
This was a charming picture book about girls fighting to be girls. About how they can take on the world and be whatever they want to be because nothing is going to stand in their way. That they need to believe in who they are and what they can do because they can accomplish great things. This book was fantastic, I love the illustrations. They are soft but vibrant and have a quality that’ll keep kids coming back.
Girls of the World is a cute book by Linsey Davis and Michael Tyler is an encouraging book for young books. I believe that Girls of the World can remind girls of all ages of their potential. I think Girls of the World would be perfect to read during International Women's Month. Thank you to NetGalley and Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
Linsey Davis hits it out of the park once again! Such an empowering book for young, and older, girls to help them realize their worth! I always get excited when I see Linsey has another book coming out!
Thank you to Zonderbooks for an advance read copy of this beautiful book!
Girls of the World is a wonderfully written rhyming book encouraging young girls to stand up for what’s right and work together to bring about positive change in the world.
The illustrations in this book are gorgeous and as a special education teacher, I love the diversity depicted on each page. It reminds girls that nothing should limit them from reaching their dreams and living out their full potential.
This book would make a great addition to a classroom library. It is very appropriate for Women’s History Month and I will be using it as a read aloud in my classroom this week.
This was a really cute book! The illustrations were so well-done and I loved the diversity pictured. My daughter did too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
What a beautiful and encouraging rhyming book for young girls! This book not only shows little girls that they can do what they set their minds to, but that what they do makes a difference! They can make big changes and encourage other girls to do the same.
This also has to be some of my favorite illustrations, they are so beautiful! As always, I appreciate the diversity and inclusion as well.
This has great messaging, along with a very diverse group of children. I love all the activities and motion! The only frustration was the small font option, there are several pages that it can easily be fixed without changing much. I definitely I want to be able to point the words out for storytime!
This book was so beautiful to read! In addition to being beautifully illustrated, it conveys an empowering message to little girls about how they can achieve whatever they set their minds to. It emphasizes how past girls helped pave the way to where we are today, the importance of following your dreams, and ultimately how you can transform the world through your creative efforts. It was wonderful to see girls from different cultures and backgrounds included as well.
Thank you NetGalley and Zonderkidz™ for the advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book before publication.
I’m not going to lie, it was difficult keeping myself from shouting while reading this book. Silently, I kept chanting “Yes yes yes yes” over and over again. The imagery, the honesty, and the diversity work SO well together. I thought this was going to be another example of female leaders around the world, past and present, and it surprised and thrilled me to find that it was not. I love seeing those leader books, because everyone should know their names and accomplishments. But we’ve had a number of those and after the 8th one, I’m starting to feel the redundancy.
This book is about possibilities, the possibilities found in all of us as we grow. Unfortunately, girls come up against some stupid obstacles that boys don’t have to worry about, just because of their sex and gender. This book is about rising above adversity; seeking equality and equity between the sexes and races; learning about what’s out there and believing that anything is really possible.
This is the kind of book that everyone should read, not just girls and women. Boys and men not only deserve to hear this too, but they need to be educated on male privilege, sexism, and inequality, as well as how they can help break the cycle.
When is this book coming out? I need it yesterday, please.
A lovely poem to inspire girls from all over the world to take on the future by being anything the want to become. The book is really beautifully illustrated, and children will love admiring each page and seeing themselves represented thanks to the great diversity of girls included.
I received an electronic ARC from Zonderkidz through NetGalley.
Empowering story for younger readers. Davis stresses how important it is for girls to speak up for themselves and other girls. She offers a look at all the places they can explore and all the ways they can challenge themselves to grow. The rhyme scheme is a bit weak at times but the points come through clearly. Brightly colored and detailed artwork supports the main ideas.
This book is nicely illustrated with a simple message that empowers girls to believe that they can do anything. It would have been nice if it included real life examples of women.
Simple text and sweet illustrations. Ethnically diverse, differently abled girls as well. Different interests are displayed, and girls are doing all sorts of everyday activities that young readers will relate to.
I don't really understand the title, as it's not overly culturally diverse and there's no geographical imagery. Also the text is vague and a bit cliched.
Thank you NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. My library will purchase a copy.

Girls of the World is a children’s book that encourages equality of all girls regardless of race. There is also disability representation which is very much appreciated.
I liked that the illustrations showed young girls exploring careers that women are typically underrepresented in such as STEM and auto mechanics.
The artwork was very well done.
This book is very positive in nature and would be a great read for any child.
Thank you to the author and publisher for this advanced copy.
This a beautiful read! The fact that girls from different cultures and religious backgrounds were included was beautiful. A book my little girl can read and see little girls that look like her! The illustrations are beautiful, a lovely book to have on your bookshelf’s and I can’t wait to get a copy of it when it releases!
A lovely one for the collection. This is a fast and fun read. Nice art style and great theme. I know we will come back to this!
O my! This was such an empowering read. Even as an adult I was thinking ‘yes….go girls!’ As a teacher of a STEM subject, I often come up against the stereotypical scientist being male and I have spent quite a bit of time trying to break that notion. I love that the book also showcases diversity and that nothing should hold you back. I loved the range of activities showcased, the illustrations were great and the message was very clear.
Thoughts:
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is a great book to read to young girls as they grow up, teaching them that they can do anything that they want to but also the importance of their voices. The illustrations were great and I was happy with the diversity demonstrated with varying races, disabilities, dress style and even hairstyles/headdresses). I also loved the message to all the girls of the world at the end.
