I do love a new @heathercrimeauthor book. This one has been brilliant from the beginning which meant I devoured this in just one sitting.
I do love this genre and Atkinson is a very talented author of the genre. I loved going back to the Savage sisters, it has been a delight to revisit familiar characters.
The feud is continuing which just oozes danger and tension. I was completely here for this.
This is gripping, gritty and dark. I love it! There is scheming, lies and a lot of unpredictability.
This is a book I have adored. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to other readers
Heather Atkinson has now become one of my favourite authors! I have now read both Savage Sisters and A Savage Feud and loved them equally! Both the writing and storyline kept me gripped from the beginning and I physically could not put it down at times!
I love a gritty gangland book by authors like Martina Cole and Kimberly Chambers and am so happy to have found another author to add to my list of auto-buy authors!
Looked forward to reading this but after 7% I had to give up! I'm a Scot and thought reading about Glasgow and surrounds would be wonderful! Book started with a bang but I felt it was too much too soon. Kept being confused as to who the characters were and was so confused that eventually gave up. May try again in a few weeks!
Many thanx to NetGalley, the author and the publishers for allowing me to read and review this book.
If you love gangland then this is for you, all lovers of Martina Cole, Kimberley chambers and Casey Kellher will want to read this.
This is the 2nd book about the savage sisters, there is plenty of violence and brutality, a family saga of the worst kind
Thank you to #netgallery and #boldwood books for the privilege of reading this.
A Savage Feud
Heather Atkinson
✔︎ 1. Savage Sisters (2023)
✔︎ 2. A Savage Feud (2023)
This is the 2nd book in the Savage sisters series. Book 2 is just as good as, or even better than the first book. I have not yet read a book by this author that I haven't fully enjoyed and got lost in.
Still, no matter how good these books are my all time favourite is the Dividing lines series.
Haghill Glasgow is the setting. Savage is the Family.
Anyone who enjoys a gritty gangland thriller of read will enjoy this one.
Two families in a feud over who should run the patch. The battles and struggles for power make this book a riveting read. It's fast paced and exciting.
If like me you really enjoy the gritty world of the Gangland Noir genre of books then most of Ms Atkinson's work will be ideal for you, she has several works that fall into that category, but the story involving the Savage sisters a family that live in Haghill Glasgow is her most recent. A Savage Feud is the second in said series the first being aptly called The Savage Sisters. Anyone who reads reviews from me will know that I always advise starting at the beginning of any series, I personally think you need to establish the who, what, where and when if you get me.
Anyway to the review on this book A Savage Feud, a little background on the Savage sisters are a family made up of 3 girls Carly, Jane and youngest Rose, dad, uncle Eddie not forgetting cousins Dean and Harry who live on the edges of the criminal underworld. Lets be honest they and the girls gang the Unbeatable Bitches are more than on the edges, they are in the employment of 2 brothers called Neil and Rod Tallon who rule a significant part of the local area.
After a period of earning a good wage, all good things come to an end and this end is called Jack Alexander recently released from the famed Monster Mansion Prison. It seems that Jack and his family don't just want some of what they have, they want it all! I couldn't understand why he chose to go against them having had a relationship with Carly in the past, I thought he would surely know what he was up against but then again greed is a great motivator.
Needless to say what follows will grip the reader, keeping you turning the pages late into the night, there's all sorts of things going off within the pages, envy, greed not to mention violence, the author gives us all of this and more,
Thanks to the author, Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC. All opinions are mine and mine alone.
This is the 2nd book in the series. and what a series this is going to be.
Heather Atkinson has wowed us again with her imagination of the underworld.
Two families are fighting for the power to rule their patch.
Here it becomes, very exciting as they battle for power, money, and status,
Once you start this book you won't be able to stop reading.
It thrills and grips you until the end..
I am looking forward to the next book.
Enjoyed his as much as the first one in the series. A really fast paced gangland thriller that didn't disappoint. The ending has left it on a cliff hanger just in time for another one
A Savage Feud by Heather Atkinson is the second book in the brilliant Savage sisters series and what a book this was, especially as it was full of brilliant twists and turns that had you sitting on the edge of your seat. WoW this book was so good! Once I started it, I found it hard to put down, just like the first book called The Savage Sisters and that was fast pace and a great page turner throughout.
I highly recommend this book and a great holiday read. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read.
Big thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and the author Heather Atkinson for my ARC of A Savage Feud in exchange for an honest review.
The thing I don’t like about Heather is her books are so good that I get drawn and can’t put them down. This is book two in the Savage family series and yet again it was another gripping read. I love all the characters and the way you are wondering as the story goes along who is a friend and who is a foe. There were lots of twists and turns all the way through this book and it leaves you wanting more. I hope that Heather has book three in mind.
A book for a healthy dose of escapism. Themes of gang, turf wars, violence but loyalty and determination.
Of note I did not read the first book in this series, and whilst I imagine it would be harder to go back and read it - as I would know some outcomes - it did not detract from the enjoyment of reading this book.
It's not often a follow up is as good as the initial book but this midt definitely was.
I really do think this series will go on for a fmgood time to come. Such an amazing read
This is the second book in the Savage Sisters series. A gritty gangland crime thriller based in Glasgow. After reading the first book I couldn’t wait to read this second book. And what an absolutely awesome read this was. Right from the very start this book had me completely hooked. The Savage Sisters aren’t girls I’d like to get on the wrong side of any time but I think they are all brilliant. A Savage Feud is a fast paced read with brilliant characters and an excellent storyline. I can’t wait for the third instalment. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this author's books. I have a few authors I adore because they write great gangland crime stories. I am very picky when it comes to this genre, because even though I most certainly am not a violent or vicious person, I do want these stories to be tough as nails.
I want people scheming. I want people to be renegades and stabbing each other's backs, but I also love people to be true to their 'family' and watch out for them.
Let me tell you one thing: in this author's books I find everything I love so much about this genre and she really knows how to create characters and make them interact with each other.
She also had my head spinning because I really did not know who was telling the truth and who was lying through their teeth.
I love the chemistry between the members of the Savage family, the loyalty of certain people and although I love all the Savage sisters, I really have a big soft spot for Rose.
I don't know yet how I feel about the newcomer yet. I like him, but sadly, I don't think he is not very trustworthy, chasing his own agenda.
A great book I could not put away. 5 stars
Thank you
Thank you to Netgalley for an advced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I always enjoy a good gangland thriller-from Martina Cole, Kimberley Chambers and all the good authors. This book was up there with them. A recommended read.
This is the second book in the Savage Sisters series although it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading in order for maximum enjoyment. A gangland thriller that chewed me up and spat me out. It's super wicked! The storyline is gripping and the characters Jane, Carly and Rose are strong females definitely not to be messed with. I particularly like Rose as I think she is a dark horse who I would love to have a more prominent part in future. Jane's gang also has me intrigued although they don't have a big part in this book. Secrets, lies and revenge will have you gasping and just when you think it's over you learn that payback is a bitch! I am super excited about this book and I will be eagerly awaiting the next book.

Thank you to @bookandttonic & @rachelsrandomresources for inviting me to join the book blog tour and read this ARC by @heathercrimeauthor and of course, the author Heather. I read book 1 about the Savage sisters. So I was definitely looking forward to reading this one! their uncle Eddie and their cousins Dean and Harry, are finally making good money, running dubious errands for the notorious Tallan brothers.
Rod and Neil Tallan wield almighty power over their patch, and their reputation for ruthless revenge on traitors is legendary. This booked takes us back to The Savage Sisters, who now have the support of their uncle and their 2 cousins ! They are still looking after their father who needs constant support ! I was pleasantly surprised by how much more of this story, that Heather had to tell us. I’m very much a mood reader and this didn’t disappoint. I want to know more about the Savage Sisters!! And is that a bit romance that I can see 😉😉.
I read Savage Sisters a while ago and loved it, I was eager to get my hands on the next book in the series. A Savage Feud is impressive, action-packed and at times brutal, making it ideal for fans of gangland crime thrillers.
Carly, Jane and Rose Savage are sisters, they live with their ailing father and have recently been reunited with their Uncle Eddie and his sons Dean and Harry. Jane is the leader of a girl gang and works with her cousins and Carly, who work for the Tallan Brothers. The Tallans run debt collecting, own bars, and pubs and are generally the kings of their little empire. They are not to be messed with, but it appears someone is.
There is another family causing waves, the Alexanders, one of which is Carly's ex, and another who has just got out of prison. The family are getting a bit more cocky and are pushing boundaries. It makes others wonder why this sudden increase in their behaviours and overall manner.
This is fantastic reading and it had me eagerly turning pages. There is a lot of mistrust in this book as you would expect for the subject matter, but this goes deeper than that. There are unseen forces at work and while the characters seem to be getting things worked out something else will happen to throw a curve ball at them.
While this is a story about territory, gangs, affiliations and loyalty, at the heart of it is family. The Savage family protect their own with their all and they definitely live up to their name. Within their community they seem to be well respected, but in other places not so much. As they collect money and do the Tallan's bidding, there is something that feels off. A gut feeling for them or something that doesn't quite go as it should makes them edgy. As they have to work they are also aware of how open they are, but they do have friends who will come when called for. But with the mistrust in the air, can they really rely on those they know?
The author has done such a brilliant job with this story, she has shown determination in her characters and you can't help but like them and loathe the others. The story has a great amount of tension, danger and the odd battle, both physical and battle of wills.
This is one for fans of hard-boiled gangland crime thriller reads. It is loaded with action, set in Glasgow's Haghill and full of the local vernacular. It is a brilliant story and once again has left me eagerly awaiting the next book! It is one I would definitely recommend, and if you have not read the first book then you really should because it is great as well.
Oh... my....GOD....I am speechless! I thought the first book was brilliant, people this one is sooo much better!
I was completely blindsided in the direction this book went and that ending 😲 I'm hoping Heather is writing like a demon on the next installment. 10 stars from me ❤️
Great sequel!
The Savage Family now works for the Tallan Brothers, getting their hands dirty by collecting debts and working on their newest blackmail scheme. The Brothers are never seen together with any of the Savage's. Uncle Eddie made the deal while Jane, Harry, Dean, and Carly are the ones risking their necks to take care of their sick father and Rose.
When Jack Alexander, Cole's estranged cousin, moves to town to live with his cousins after getting released from a maximum security prison; you know the Alexander's are up to no good again. But Jack immediately likes Carly's attitude and he finds himself confiding in her that something big is happening in his family; warning her because her sick Dad still lives at home. He hates Jessica, Cole's mom, so getting in good with the Savage Family would be a bonus.
This just confirms all along what Carly has been suspicious of, something is going on with the Tallan's. Before Eddie blew her off as being dumb, but when the truth comes out about the brothers fighting amongst themselves, Eddie almost got his own brother killed due to his ignorance.
The Tallan's turn on each other, expecting the Savage's to take the fall in prison. When it becomes obvious that that isn't going to happen, the remaining Brother needs to choose who will work for him, the Alexander Family or the Savage Family.
Meanwhile, Carly and Dean decide to date secretly. But when Carly finds out the real reason why her Dad was estranged from her Uncle and cousins, she's done with Dean. After being lied to by Cole the year before, that's the one thing she refuses to deal with. So Carly ends things before they even start, turning to Jack Alexander for comfort.
A great read!!
