This was a nice fun read and reminded me a lot of Garrett and Hannah’s story, which I also enjoyed. I’ve found some of the other books in the Briar series a bit hit and miss but I liked this one. The banter between the main characters and also with their various team mates was fun and easy to read and it was nice to read a book where the heroine is also a serious athlete. Quite often it’s just the hero and that always feels somewhat unequal.

I hadn’t previously read the Off Campus series but was looking forward to this new story from Elle Kennedy. At 500 pages, it is a lengthy but easy read. Both characters are loveable and despite being a next generation book, they are not carbon copies of their parents. Overall, it was an enjoyable read & I hope to continue with the rest of the series.

Really enjoyed The Deal by Elle Kennedy so thought this book would have a similar vibe.

First part of the book was really good but I guess it just dragged out in the last part.

The last 200 pages of this book were great, the way some really big emotional topics are dealt with in the context of a new relationship between young adults is where this author really shines.

Unfortunately, the 300 ot took me to get there just dragged, I was seriously considering dnfing at one point, it just took ages to kick in.

Where to begin? I received this book as an e-arc and disappointed myself by not reading it before it's release. I honestly wasn't too sure if I would be able to get on board with ice hockey romance. Sometimes, the sports details bore me and I find myself drifting off mentally and not being able to enjoy the book. That being said, I absolutely loved this story including all the ice hockey. I went in blind, not knowing there was a series beforehand, and I have to say you don't need to read the other series to appreciate this book. It was amazing. The characters are all extremely lovable. Once I got into this book I could not put it down. Safe to say I will now be heading to the nearest store to buy myself a physical story. I look forward to any future books in this series and will absolutely be divulging in the other series!!

I don’t know if I’ve just grown out of it or what, but this didn’t do it for me the way the initial series and the Briar-U series did. Everything told me I should have been in love with the characters but they just fell a bit flat for me - the angst was missing. I didn’t want to marry Ryder the way I wanted to marry all of the previous men in her books. I felt the same with bad girl reputation, but maybe it’s a me problem.

Despite this, this is still such an easy and fast paced book. When I’m looking to just pace through a book and wind down, Elle Kennedy will NEVER fail to provide.

Got to read this early via NetGalley, thanks!

I loved Off Campus series by Elle Kennedy, especially The Deal so when I found out this book is going to be about Garretts and Hannah kid I knew I had to read it!

And oh boy I wasn't dissapointed! This book had everything that the OG Off Campus had and more! I loved the both main characters, Gigi and Ryder. They are true grumpy x sunshine and chemistry between them is definitely undeniable... Easiest 5 stars I gave to a romance book in a while!

Also the banter and conversations between the characters is what really makes this book. Don't get me wrong there are some real spice in this book but it was also full of laughter, friendships and emotions. Honestly it has it all!

I was so sad I finished it as I needed more! Can't wait until the next instalment of this series

This books is definitely for you if you like hockey romance, if you loved Off Campus and Briar U, if your trope is grumpy x sunshine! 😁

I tried to get the arc for this book because I know the author and I have loved her books previously.

Still, I wasn't prepared for how much I loved this book. The book hits us with nostalgia (for those who read the first generation), both characters just fit with each other. Both kept each other grounded when needed, I loved their banter, their chemistry.

A delightful read and I can't recommend it enough.

Okay so I'll be honest I haven't read the Off-Campus series yet but after reading this I can't wait to go back to the very beginning and find out all the juicy gossip!

I loved this one from the very beginning. It really did not dissapoint. The "meet cute" between Ryder and GiGi was literally an LOL moment. I won't lie this book could honestly be a movie and I would eat it up with a bucket load of popcorn.

Ryder weasled his way into my heart just like he did with GiGi. The book was si light-hearted and filled with banter. It wasn't too serious. It had funny moments, some spicy moments and some deep emotional moments. I couldn't ask for anything more.

The side characters were hilarious and I honestly cannot wait to see what comes their way in the upcoming books .

I've read quite a few Elle Kennedy books over the years and this has to be one of my favourites now.
I liked how well developed the characters were. It wasn't solely about their romantic relationship, which I always appreciate in a romance.
And it was really interesting to read about the grown up children of characters that I read about just a few years ago. It's the first time I've ever seen that done in a romance and I found that to be really successful.
I will say, even though I really enjoyed this book, I just don't think insta-love/lust is my favourite trope.
I've read quite a few stories with that kind of storyline recently and I always feel like how quickly they get together puts me off a bit. Give me some slow burn and pining any day.
The whole Vegas part of the story didn't feel necessary and wasn't my favourite either.
But this is a really solid romance and another great Elle Kennedy book.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Despite not being aware that this was part of the off campus series, and I have not yet read the series, I really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the beginning and loved the characters immediately. I found the relationship cute and funny. the story line as well was also great and I look forward to actually reading the first series.
so overall it was a good book I just wish I had looked into it a little more.

Give me all the Elle Kennedy novels!

I enjoyed this novel immensely. I had no idea, of course, that this story is linked to the Off Campus Series (and it didn't matter at all - proof that The Graham Effect can be read as a standalone!). After reading it, however, I am definitely going to check that series out.

Gigi is the daughter of a hockey legend but longs to step out of his shadow and play for Team USA. Ryder is a moody hockey phenom who keeps to himself and avoids relationships at all costs, having been bounced around foster homes all his life. Their colleges amalgamating brings the two within each others orbits, and sparks fly.

If there is one thing Elle Kennedy is great at, it's creating believable, flawed and endearing characters that you just love to spend time with. Even her secondary characters are well evoked and add to the story. The dialogue is quick and has bite, the story is as sweet as it is spicy (and it's quite spicy!), and there was enough bulk to the backstory that I found myself completely immersed. I can't wait to read the next instalment!

I've loved all of Elle Kennedy's books I've read so far, and The Graham Effect is no different. I liked both Gigi and Ryder as leads, though I wish it wasn't so insta-lovey between the two of them as I really hate that trope. I really enjoyed seeing cameos of the Off-Campus characters, especially Garrett and Hannah (Gigi's parents). After seeing the next book follows Diana and Shane, I'm a little disappointed as I was under the impression the Campus Diaries series was entirely a 'next gen' series. Overall, I'd definitely recommend The Graham Effect, though it can't replace The Deal as my favourite Elle Kennedy book.

I forgot about this one after having trouble downloading it. Once I started reading it I loved it straight away, for me it's got a perfect combination of funny and romance. I highly recommend it and have given it 5 stars.

The perfect hockey romance, with all the OG off campus feels!! EK’s writing in the Graham Effect felt like being transported back into off campus days + their relationship was perfect. Who doesn’t live a good old grumpy hockey player

The Graham Effect is the first book in the Campus Diaries which follows Gigi Graham and Luke Ryder. Gigi and Ryder strike up a deal that he will help coach her in a particular aspect of her hockey game in exchange for her putting in a good word for him with her dad who runs the hockey camp he wants to coach that summer.

Having not read the Off Campus series I was slightly hesitant going into this book, however I ended up really enjoying it. Elle Kennedy's writing is so fast paced and easy to fly through meaning I devoured this nearly 500 page book in a few days. I liked that both the main characters had their own friends, family and ambitions outside of their relationship and thought all the characters were really well developed.

My only complaint is that I felt that the romance developed very rapidly and quite suddenly so I didn't the chemistry and bond between Gigi and Ryder 100% believable. That being said I didn't feel that this detracted from my enjoyment of the story at all hence the 4 star rating.

Overall I really enjoyed this and would recommend it if you're looking for a fun, fast paced sports romance!

I totally forgot all about this download (had a bit of a pants end of 2023) but luckily a friend purchased this book and let me read it. OMG in love! It was a little weird reading a story about the grown up child of some characters I had loved not too long ago (I was a little late to the Elle Kennedy party) but a cute fun read. Enjoyed it SO MUCH!

GG and Ryder, they have so much chemistry! They could set a laboratory on fire!
I was hooked on this, even with an injured wrist, I could not put it down..

It was well worth the wait and I really enjoyed being back at Briar!

I loved the Garrett and Wellsy cameos, it’s so hard to see them as parents!

This book was alright, but I didn't enjoy this as much as Kennedy's other series. The plot felt a little bit forced and the characters not as original as her others. It just wasn't for me, really.

This may be my favourite Elle Kennedy book yet!

This book was an incredibly fun read! I am a massive sports romance fan but make it Ice Hockey and It’s even better! Add in the fact that both main characters are hockey players and it makes the perfect book!

I am always sceptical about series about other book characters children, but I devoured this book! It was really cool to be able to see the characters from the Off- Campus series again and see what they were up to decades later!

I loved the main characters relationship in this book, it felt like it developed really naturally from dislike to love! I hope we get to see a glimpse into Gigi and Ryders lives in future books, as they are now one of my favourite Elle Kennedy couples!
