Overall, Recipe for Mr. Christmas is a charming and uplifting read that captures the magic of the holidays. It’s a perfect choice for anyone looking for a cozy escape filled with warmth, romance, and a sprinkle of festive cheer.
Loved this. I really enjoyed everything about this. I loved the story completely. It will stay with me for a long time. I appreciate that the author has very strong voice - one I really enjoy. Super festive!
This is a charming holiday romance that stands out for featuring older characters, which was a refreshing change from the usual. The story revolves around second chances, love, and the magic of the Christmas season, with mature characters at the heart of it. I loved that the author gave depth and complexity to these older protagonists, making them relatable and heartwarming.
The writing is easy to follow, and it makes for an enjoyable, lighthearted read. However, at times, the plot meanders a bit, and the pacing can feel slow, which at times caused me to lose interest. But I recommend picking it up if you're in the mood for a simple, feel-good holiday story with down-to-earth characters.
Absolutely loved this story from Anni Rose.
In this book we hear about how Susie gets her life together having lost her husband of 40 years. It was amazing to see how Susie challenged herself to tasks & as usual with Anni's books we can now all try our hands at the recipes mentioned!!!
I loved to hear about how different her life was and how she got on with her life. She stood up to the bullies & faced challenges despite her age. She was still relatively young & we hear about the dreaded school reunion. Susie's journey throughout the year gives us all a chance to see that nothing is beyond us & to go for our dreams.
It was great to hear more about Freddie & Jenny Brompton who we had met briefly in Recipe for Mr Banksy.
I laughed out loud at parts of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I found myself looking up & listening to the songs mentioned.
It's a book that I could find myself reading again.
I can't wait for the next book from Anni as she has become my favourite author.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this e-arc.
This was a cute little Christmas romance, it was good for what it needed to do and I would recommend it on as a palette cleanser between bigger books.
This was a great book. I connected with the characters. I felt engrossed with the plot. I would read another book by this author.
This was a sweet second chance holiday romance that had me feeling all the emotions. With themes of self-discovery and handling grief, I enjoyed it and it was refreshing to have the characters trying love once again, even being an older couple.
*many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review.
I really tried to give this book a chance, but the story wasn't that appealing to me and I think its mainly cause of the age gap between my own age and the characters as they are in their 60s and when I think of people that age I think of my grandparents.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
OHHHH such a comfy read to pick up during the holiday season!!

This cute Christmas book is perfect for the holiday season! It follows a later in life romance which is not often depicted and was nice to see.
This was a heartwarming tale of second chance love and the unexpected joys that life can bring. Determined to create exciting stories of her own, Susie embarks on a journey of self-discovery, embracing cooking courses, motorbike-riding lessons, and pole-dancing classes. It all takes an unexpected turn when she reunites with a man who understands her grief but becomes a source of joy.
I liked this one. It was a good read for those who want a heartwarming tale of love after loss.
This put me in the Christmas spirit! Always love light reading around Christmas time and this fit the bill!
This book was such a sweet story overall! I found myself having a number of emotions and reactions throughout reading it. With a storyline that incorporated grief and finding oneself, there was also a romance. I enjoy both Bob and Susie's characters. Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

A cute Christmas rom com that was indeed a quick read and an a great escape. I really enjoyed this one.
What a great book! It was lovely meeting old friends from previous books and following their story. I especially liked the fact the main couple are not youngsters in their 20s or 30s but a little older. Good to show love doesn’t stop at 40, or 50, or any other age – and show that hobbies for over 40s don’t have to consist of crochet & knitting! Considering the seasonal-sounding title, it might be useful to mention that this story actually spans a whole year, so you really don't need to wait until you're in a Christmas mood to read it.
Sweet contemporary Christmas read with so many tropes! Our main characters Susie and Bob are an older couple who find a second chance at romance after the unfortunate death of both of their spouses. I did not realize this was book number 6 in a series which I probably would not have picked up beforehand if I did know.
The book Recipe for Mr. Christmas was an enjoyable read. I would recommend any book written by Anni Rose. Happy Reading!
