I just love this cute cover. This was a bit of a sad but such a good read. There were some heavy topics. I enjoyed this second chance romance. This was a second chance of love after losing your partner. This was about so much more than romance. Both of our characters are trying to live life after grief. They are learning about themselves and how to navigate this world that has changed so much for them. There have been tears and laughter. I just loved this one. Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
A really cute story about two people trying to find their way! I love the idea of the holiday letter being Susie’s push to get up and try new things, and Bob is such a fun character! I loved his family! This was really enjoyable watching both characters navigate life after losing a spouse, and figuring things out in their own ways, while also being there for each other.
Thank you to NetGalley, Joffe Books, and Choc Lit for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review!
he can win me any day of the week. I was hooked and loved it from start to finish. Must read it and you will understand and be hooked.
This book revolves around an entire cast of characters that were so interconnected, it was challenging to put the book down - I'd lose track of who was who and what they knew if I left and came back! That said, it was a great story of family, community, moving on, various kinds of strength and confidence, and the challenges with being older and losing loved ones and loving again. I love this series from Anni Rose, as it is just heartwarming in genuine ways. While a different demographic, it still fits the bill.

This book was okay. For a quick Christmas read it's great. If you're into the cheesy Hallmark movies, you might like this. I felt like it was a little too long for what it was and I had trouble connecting to the characters.
I received this ARC for honest feedback.
Susie and Bob were wonderful characters to get to know. Watching them come together after losses, and grow as people through the book was quite enjoyable. Even though there was a couple of over-the-top, unbelievable scenarios, over all, I would recommend this cozy read.
A second chance romance that was so much fun to read . I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters, the story and laughed out loud all the way through.
This is my first read by Anni Rose and I loved it! What a cute Christmas story! I love all the tropes. It was heartwarming and funny. The characters were so good. I am sucker for older characters as I am in my 40s. I will definitely be reading more off this authors books!
Thank you for the opportunity!
Recipe for Mr Christmas by Anni Rose is part of her Recipes for Love series, where all books can be read completely standalone.
After 40 years of blissful marriage, Susie is mourning the recent death of her husband and feeling a bit disoriented and not sure of what to do next.
The usual round robin Christmas card arrives from the Bailey family, telling the world about their brilliant past year. Susie decides that next Christmas she'll have some amazing stories to tell too!
This starts off a year full of activities including pole-dancing, cooking lessons and some motorbiking.
At a school reunion she meets up with Bob who lost his wife eighteen months ago and her drive spurs Rob on to also get active again. He even reunites with his old band members.
Not all gifts are wrapped up and put under the Christmas tree!
Feel good, somewhat Christmas themed romance story featuring mature characters (50+).
Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for allowing me access to this ARC.
Recipe For Mr. Christmas is a heartwarming story that takes place over a one-year time span, from Christmas to Christmas. It is refreshing that the main characters, Susie and Bob, are both over the age of 50 and not in their 20s and 30s. Suzie is a widower and Bob is a widow. This is a tale of their journeys and new adventures that bring them closer together. I enjoyed the way the characters were developed throughout the book and the way their relationship was built over the year time span.
This is my first book by Anni Rose but not my last. I plan to go back and read the other books in this series, although this book can be read as a standalone.

I was very excited to start this after I finished a Recipe for Mr Banksy, and it did not disappoint. Once again, I loved the story, the characters, and the tropes.
What a great book! It was lovely meeting old friends from previous books and following their story. I especially liked the fact the main couple are not youngsters in their 20s or 30s but a little older. Good to show love doesn’t stop at 40, or 50, or any other age – and show that hobbies for over 40s don’t have to consist of crochet & knitting! It was very believable that bereaved people sometimes struggle with when to love again, when is too soon? Can it be too late? It was so nice to follow their story. I also liked catching glimpses of characters from other Redford books! So looking forward to the next Redford book!
I love festive reads and loved the idea of this book, a story about a widower and a widow at christmas time doesnt sound like the most festive of reads but I enjoyed how they were both having new beginnings and that their friendship began first. I didnt realise that this seems to be part of a series but will definitely give some more a try.
This is a quick fun read about a widow and a widower who meet, start seeing each other, and friendship begins. Each is trying new things. Outside their usual activities...friendship, maybe love ensues...she has stepchildren. He has children. This talented author has written a story about quirky characters who bring the story alive. Thanks Netgalley.
So I read Recipe for Mr Banksy and thought I'd give this one a go. But again it didn't hit the mark for me.
I started reading it and found I just couldn't finish it so I have to say I did not finish it.
I love Christmas but this Christmas story did not jingle my bells I'm afraid.
Thank you NetGalley and Joffe Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
I haven’t read any of this author’s other work but this book was clearly not for me. It contained every Christmas trope possible which was disappointing as I had high hopes at the onset
