I loved this adorable romantic comedy! “Snowed In” is the perfect read for the holiday season. Megan hasn’t been home since she left her groom at the alter. Christian is the only single one in his family. These childhood schoolmates decide to team up in a fake dating scheme to go home for Christmas.

Actually, I expected this book to be "completely hilarious". Yes, Bookouture, you again, stop, just please stop writing "completely hilarious" on every single cover of your books! It was not completely hilarious, it was sometimes funny, but that's all.
And that's not bad, because I feel this book had a great depth to it. There were some poignant and significant moments in this story, some tougher issues were touched by the author - but no, "completely hilarious". Urgh. Annoying.

It was interestingly written, although it was predictable and stereotyped, you could really predict what the characters are going to do and say. Nevertheless, the main characters were really well developed, especially Megan - she was sharp, had a great sense of humour and best one - liners. The banter between Megan and Christian was absolutely the highlight of this story. The chemistry between them grew slowly and felt genuine and there were some spicy scenes. Verrry spicy. And hats off to the author for no third act breakup! I loved the fact that those two simply TALKED with each other and wer open about their feelings.

Perhaps it's not a book that will stay with me forever, however there was "something" in it . I liked it, it was an easy, festive read, with some parts that I would immediately delete, but oh my, that's me.

And now to "Holiday Romance" - keep hearing great things about this book.

This delightful novel puts a spin on the tyypical holiday romance. Instead of going back to her home town to find love, Megan is dreading going back because the last time she was there she left her fiance at the alter. The whole village has gossiped aboutt her and sided with her ex because no one knows the truth about why she left. Now it's five years later and she has to go back. It just so happens that Christian is also dreading going back for Christmas and being the only single one in his family again. So when Megan literally runs into him in a bar and they get to chatting, he asks her to go back together as a fake couple. Hilarity ensues and they eventually fall for each other.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book but it wasn't quite five start level for me.

What a fun heartwarming christmas romancd!! I loved Christian and Megan so much. The fact that they knew each other as children and met again as adults added so many layers to their relationship. Fake dating is always a fun trope, but the way Christian and Megan care for each other throughout theirs was so heartwarming.

ALL OF THE WARM FUZZIES. No one writes better love stories than Catherine Walsh. I read Holiday Romance last year and I was so thrilled to be approved for Snowed In. It absolutely delivered! I loved Christian and Megan so much. The fact that they knew each other as children and met again as adults added so many layers to their relationship. Fake dating is always a fun trope, but the way Christian and Megan care for each other throughout theirs was so heartwarming. As long as she keeps writing the, I will always read a Catherine Walsh romance at Christmas time!

i was looking forward to this book as I liked the idea of it being "snowed In", however this was a very small part of the book and the rest was a bit disappointing, the characters didnt seem to have chemistry and the lack of communication and misunderstandings started to drive me crazy, sorry not my style, thanks,

I am so sorry this is late. I really thought I had already sent it off until I checked my Netgalley shelf and realized it hadn’t been sent.

First of all, I absolutely loved and devoured this book. So much so I read it twice. Megan and Christian are quite the match. Admittedly at first I expected them to have a closer relationship in the early years of growing up together like her and Jacob seemed to, I do like how they didn’t really know each other and got to learn more.

Christian I was hooked with from the beginning a typical “bad boy” (although was he ever really that bad) but overprotective golden retriever. I would happily marry him (or be Megan’s sister wife). I liked Megan, especially her love for knitting because it was a constant in her life. We all have that one thing that moves us and hearing her past with the baby goats made me so happy.

Honestly my favorite part was the unlikely love between Christian’s dad and Megan. I love that he comes out of his shell with her but it also helps his relationship with his son as well.

There were so many laugh out loud scenes in this book (like the taxidermy and finding out she was a vegetarian) but also some sweet and steamy scenes mixed in. I love a good holiday spice!

Meeting Molly, Andrew, and Zoe made me want to pick up Holiday Romance just so I can get more from them. Zoe had me hooked from the beginning with all her single parent jokes in the bar. I was drawn to her and wished there was a bit more to go off of there. I also hope we get an Aiden book and see who he ends up with now that he’s back!

Thank you so much for letting me read this and I will highly recommend now that it’s out! Again I’m sorry this was late.

I was excited to read this book, and I loved it! Christian and Megan were so good together, and their relationship's development was great. Having more moments of Andrew and Molly was so fun because I adored them in Holiday Romance. I hope we see more of these characters in the future, and in the meantime, I can't wait to read more of Catherine Walsh's work!

4.5 stars!
This was my first holiday book of the season, and it did not disappoint! Loved the plot - two main characters agree to spend the holidays together, faking it as a couple with their families. Such a fun easy holiday book - with some extra spice too. Probably don’t share this one with mom! Thank you NetGalley, the author, and publishers for this advanced copy. Highly recommend!

This one gave me all the warm and fuzzies, as all good holiday romances should! Megan hasn't been home in years, ever since she pulled the runaway bride move and left her groom-to-be at the alter. Christian hasn't seen Megan since that day, and a chance encounter at a pub leads him to concoct the perfect solution to their holiday season problem - they'll pretend their dating and facing their families together will be easier than going it alone and facing the inevitable questions about their non-existent love lives. As they head back to their rural Irish village for Christmas, they are faced with all they'd left behind, and they come together to support each other and, naturally, begin to catch feelings. When a chain of events lead to them being stranded in an idealic winter cabin, neither can (or wants to) deny their feelings any longer...

This really is a perfect festive read. I loved both Megan and Christian but also enjoyed the return of all the Holiday Romance characters, including, of course, Molly and Andrew. There's always something so nostalgic for me about Catherine's books that are set in Ireland, with all the best banter and Irish humour that's never cliché or OTT. Catherine writes some of the funniest lines, and I definitely laughed out loud more than once! Megan and Christian's chemistry grows steadily until they can't ignore their feelings anymore. Apart from their blossoming affection, they both deal with their family dramas, and in the end, they come to a better place with their loved ones - just in time for Christmas!

Snowed In is out now and should be top of your holiday TBR! Thank you to Catherine and @netgalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I have been a fan of Catherine Walsh since picking up Holiday Romance last year, so I knew I needed to read her newest holiday read!!!

Megan hasn’t been back home since she snuck out of her wedding before saying I do, but she has to go home for the holidays this year— luckily she runs into an old classmate, who talks her into going back to their hometown in a fake relationship— Megan can have someone on her side as she sees old friends, and Christian doesn’t have to be the sad, lonely sibling in his family’s eyes.

a book starting with a runaway bride, fake dating, and then getting snowed in?? what more could I ask for in a Christmas book?!?

I truly recommend this book if you’re looking for a fun Christmas read. a big shout out to NetGalley for the arc!!

Super cute rom-com that had me LOLing at times. I loved the main characters and supporting characters. I wish the 'snowed in' part lasted a little longer but overall a super cute holiday read.

Snowed In by Catherine Walsh is a delightful winter escape that seamlessly blends romance, humor, and the magic of the holiday season. Megan, the village pariah, and Christian yearning for a Christmas companion, embark on a fake dating arrangement to navigate returning home for the holidays. As they journey through family gatherings, old flames, and unexpected snowed-in scenarios, Walsh expertly crafts a heartwarming tale that resonates with the charm of the season. The integration of Molly and Andrew's story from the Holiday Romance adds an extra layer of enjoyment. I loved Holiday Romance and it was one of my favorite seasonal reads last winter.

The book's funny and easy-to-read narrative, paired with its dreamy winter setting, makes it a perfect companion for a snowy winter afternoon. Walsh skillfully navigates holiday family dynamics and a heartwarming fake dating trope. Personally, I found the story to be a delightful holiday read, and I am eagerly anticipating Catherine Walsh's next creation. Her ability to craft amazing holiday books is evident in Snowed In and Holiday Romance, making them both a must-read for those who appreciate heartwarming romances set against the backdrop of a winter wonderland.

Thank you, NetGalley, Catherine Walsh, and Bookouture for for this eARC in exchange for an honest review. Snowed In is available now!

Snowed In - Catherine Walsh

With thanks to @netgalley and @bookouture for an arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a massive fan of Catherine Walsh. I absolutely adore her books and can't say this one was any different.

Megan was due to be married but on the day of the wedding she did a Julia Roberts and did a legger, not before her old school friend Christian seen her dramatic exit.

5 years later Megan has not returned to her hometown since she left her fiancee at the altar. She's loving life in Dublin as a single woman but one night when her date doesn't show up she bumps into her old friend Christian. Christian is also single much to his families amusement. They both need to return to their hometown for Christmas. Christian comes up with the crazy idea that himself and Megan can fake a relationship. Both are happy with this agreement. Christian as his family will get off his back and Megan so she doesn't come back to the village single. What ensues is a gorgeous and comical romance. It will have you laughing and maybe get your temperature rising 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I flitted between my kindle and audible for this. The audio is fantastic.

Side note for anyone else who has read Catherine's books I think Declan is still my fave male character but Christian is definitely hot on his heels 😂

5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I knew this book wouldn't disappoint at all because i have loved all of catherine's books. they always deliver a heartwarming love story where the two main characters have natural chemistry, along with diving deeper into themselves and growing together throughout the story. Megan and Christian were so much fun. I found that Megan came off to be a very strong fmc, although there might have been times where she didnt think she was. Christian was a secret softy and i loved every absolute second of reading him fall apart for Megan. The fake-dating of this part was done well, and it was just comical how good they were at "fake-dating" each other (comes back to that natural chemistry aspect in Catherine's books). Not only were the main characters great, but we got to see Molly and Andrew again (love them), and the rest of Megan and Christian's family were seriously so cute and made it become a well rounded story. I loved this book right from the prologue to the very end. can't wait to continue reading catherine's work and sharing with my friends!

Who says you can’t go home again? Hahaha. Fake dating is always a weird kind of trope for me – sometimes it doesn’t come off because it is often written with at least one of the parties already in deep with the feelings, but this one seemed more realistic, where they thought about and discussed the logistics and seemed hesitant. The other thing I often don’t understand is the pressure people feel to have to bring ‘someone’ home to get the fam-bam off their backs – but this is not a fault with the author or the story…maybe just humankind?

One gripe for me was that there were a few secondary characters and storylines which, for me, kind of took away from the magic of the main characters.

Overall, I thought this was an adorable, fun, cozy holiday time read. I was in love with the main characters by the time they were ‘snowed in’ and even though they were a bit wishy-washy with their declarations of their feelings (are they pretending or not?), it didn’t detract from the bigger picture. A highlight for me is Christian’s protective nature.

Catherine Walsh does it again! I was first introduced to this author from her previous book, Holiday Romance, which was easily one of my top books of last year. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book mentions the characters from her last book, while also being a stand-alone novel! When Megan and Christian decide to be each other's fake date for Christmas in their small, Irish town, the reader immediately knows that this will not last. Walsh does a great job with developing the backstory of the characters and tackling some more serious topics with grace, truly making you fall in love with them and their story. I loved both of these characters as well as their families. I truly loved this book and will recommend both this and her prior works to anyone looking for a cozy, holiday romance.
