It’s been four years since Megan left her fiancé Isaac, at the altar. So, going home for Christmas is the last thing she wants to do. But when Megan bumps into Christian in a pub in Dublin, they decide to be each other’s fake dates for each other’s Christmas family events. With a mix of family, friends and running into old flames this Christmas will be everything unexpected. And when the snow starts and doesn’t stop anytime soon, getting snowed in is exactly what they don’t need or is it?

Snowed In written by author Catherine Walsh is a wonderful Christmas rom-com. This wonderful heartwarming story captured my attention from the very first page. I loved the characters and the banter within the families had me laughing out loud. The chemistry between the main characters was felt throughout the story. I loved the Christmas escape to Dublin, Ireland. I could feel the cold air on my face as I walked through the quaint little village admiring the twinkling lights. If you are looking for a great book to launch you into the Christmas season, this is style one. My suggestion is to brew the hot cocoa, grab your favorite blanket, curl up by the fire and read this fantastic story. I loved it and I definitely recommend it.

4.5 Stars!!

Technically a sequel to Holiday Romance, this book features Andrew’s enigmatic cynical brother Christian, and let me tell you, he absolutely delivers.

It takes a lot to make me love a MF these days, contemporary no less, as there’s just so many factors that can tip the scales negatively. Admittedly, I was pretty sure things would go well as Holiday Romance was one of my favorite reads last year and so yes, this is basically an acquaintances to lovers (Christian and Megan know each other by growing up in the same small Irish town), fake dating trope (each have legitimate reasons for wanting to bring a plus one home), intermixed with the Christmas holiday and all the frustrating, wonderful, issue driven family dynamics that makes these sort of reads so entertainingly worth it.

I don’t know what magic Walsh used, but she deftly brought forth all the yummy things that portrayed Christian as leading man irresistible. Sexy, charming, take control, confident, just arrogant enough, protective and thoughtful, surprising me over and over again, making me swoon at every turn. Though Christian thinks he’s a disaster for relationships, subconsciously he wants one nonetheless, believing that he can remain poised and platonic through the farce he himself concocted.

Megan in turn, has her own baggage, wanting to divert confrontation on the many reasons she ran away from the altar years ago, denial being easier than explaining herself to friends and family. However, she can’t avoid coming home for forever, so she musters up the courage to take Christian up on his offer. Thankfully, Megan never drove me bonkers as many a female MC is wont to do (though some side characters definitely had their moments), and I’m eternally grateful for that as well as the absence of the infamous third act breakup.

Soooo, Christian in my opinion was pretty much perfect, and Megan never had a chance of not falling for him. Overall, this was a fabulous win where I feel perfectly content in not reading any more holiday stories that could potentially ruin my afterglow. This was funny, snarky, playful and emotional, as well as smexy! Walsh has cemented herself as a go-to author simply because I’m obviously smitten. Christian takes the cake here, and I’m confident you’ll think the same as well!

Why is it that most often the right decision also happens to be the most dramatic one?

Thanks to the courageous choice she makes on one of the most stressful days of her life, Megan faces a new, unpredictable future. For someone who’s always ‘fallen’ into situations and never had to face things alone, Megan relies on her Uncle Ted’s envelope and her gut feeling to make the right decision.

She thinks she’s shelved her previous life until she meets someone she used to know and they strike up a deal. A mutually beneficial deal. Megan O’Sullivan and Christian Fitzpatrick have their own agendas, yet agree to help each other out by coupling for a Christmas trip back home to celebrate with their families. You know there’s going to be some uneasy situations ahead, but Walsh’s writing is so compelling. She absolutely nails the emotions and the pull of the fake dating trope - and before long, you’ll be like me and discover that this became a one-sit-read!

Except for one open-door section on Christmas Eve when I skipped a few pages (too spicy), I was swooning and grinning from ear to ear. I’d eagerly reach for another of Walsh’s books as I was impressed with my introduction to her work.

Thanks for the early copy and for a spot on the tour, Bookouture.

Another great book by Catherine Walsh! I love her writing and her characters. This is the second of Catherine’s books I’ve read and I’ll definitely be picking up more.

Snowed in follows Megan and Christian, both dreading going back to their hometown for Christmas. Megan hasn’t gone back in years following her break up with Isaac, while Christian dreads having to go back home while being single since he’s the only one left in his family to settle down. They decide to fake date their way through the holidays, however things might not stay as fake for as long.

I loved this story so much, Megan and Christian were such a joy to read about. Megan is determined and strong, while Christian is such a caring and funny guy. They make the perfect pair.

This was such a fast and easy read. I loved the atmosphere, the city, and majority of the characters. The love story was amazing. It’s the perfect romcom for this winter. If you’re looking for a Christmas small town, fake dating romcom, this is the one you want to choose!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me a copy of this book

Catherine Walsh has done it yet again! Snowed In was lovely, gripping, hard to put down, delightful and romantic. I was drawn into this wonderful book from the very first page. I always look forward to reading her books. Walsh never disappoints, she only dazzles!

Megan was a runaway bride and has not been back home since she left Isaac at the altar several years ago. But this year she is going home. Christian is heading home as well this Christmas. He dreads the looks his family gives him when he shows up alone. He saw Megan flee on the day she left Isaac at the altar. When Megan literally bumps into Christian in a pub, they begin talking about their current lives, their families, and the upcoming holiday. The plan to be each other's fake dates during the holiday.

Both main characters were likeable, witty, endearing and I rooted for both. Snowed In was an addictive fake dating/relationship holiday book. With romance, it is all about the journey for me and I loved the journey Walsh took her characters on. I love how nothing felt rushed or drawn out. Plus, this book had not only some funny moments but heart and soul. I loved how both characters had to not only deal with their individual family but with the others family members as well. This made for some funny and dramatic scenes. Plus, the setting! I love books that take place in wintery snowy places. The chill in the air gets me every time.

I had the pleasure of having both the book and audiobook for Snowed In. This made for a completely delightful reading experience! The narrators were fantastic and did a wonderful job of bringing this book to life. I enjoyed the drama, the humor, the witty banter, and the way the plot unfolded.

Gripping, delightful, well written, well thought out and hard to put down! I can’t wait to read what Catherine Walsh writes next!

I have enjoyed the Catherine Walsh books I’ve read so far - somehow I haven’t read the first book in this series though, even though I keep meaning to, especially after seeing such great feedback and hype about it on Bookstagram last Christmas season when it was released! This book gives away quite a bit about the couple from that one and their future so I’ve had a lot of spoilers now, if I do go back…

This is the second in a series even though they aren’t really linked or noted as such - be forewarned from this review that this is book 2, after Holiday Romance! They follow brothers and their stories. I’m hoping to go back to read Molly and Andrew’s book but now I know so much… they play a huge part in this book.

Snowed In is about Andrew’s brother Christian, home for Christmas but having run into Megan in Dublin just before driving back to their Irish town - Megan hasn’t been home in years… not since she fled from her own wedding and no one in town wants to see her again. She’s coming because her family has guilted her into finally spending Christmas at home after all these years away. Christian agrees to help her out by pretending to be her boyfriend when they run into her jilted groom, and it all just dominoes from there - in the very best ways, including accidentally getting snowed in at a remote mountain cabin at Christmas when they were not supposed to be there (and gets good and steamy with a quick fling because what else are you supposed to do in that situation?).

This is an excellent fake dating, forced proximity/snowed in, Christmas romance with a bit of a second chance feeling to it - I really enjoyed it and it has all of Walsh’s usual, beautiful writing and great humour. Absolutely a recommendation from me, but you’re going to want to read the first book first (unlike me), so you don’t spoil the earlier details…

I received a copy from NetGalley and Bookouture, and this is my honest feedback.

Let me tell you about this heartwarming, fake dating Christmas romance you NEED to put on your TBR.

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

Who hasn’t dreamt of having some supportive backup during the holidays, just to get their families and the rumor mill off their backs? I know I have, and so have Megan and Christian who come up with the perfect pact: they will pretend to be dating when going home to their small town while having each other’s backs at events and family dinners. What can go wrong?

I really loved Megan and Christian’s story for a multitude of reasons. Of course, we have Catherine Walsh’s trademark humor infusing the whole book with such amazing banter it will make you grin and laugh throughout. But more importantly, I’m convinced Walsh’s superpower is to create relatable characters who fall in love in a down-to-earth manner, while transporting you to Ireland and making you privy to Irish inside jokes. And if, on top of that, you’re weak for a charming, smug and (over)confident protector with a heart of gold, Christian will have you wrapped around his finger in no time. Seriously, the man knows how to be a swoonworthy romantic! It’s unfair, we don’t have a fighting chance! Anyway, I digress.

Read if you like:
❄️ Fake dating
❄️ Banter
❄️ Brief forced proximity
❄️ Sick care
❄️ Dual POV
❄️ No second act break up (hallelujah!)
❄️ Perfect amount of hot and intimate spice
❄️ A very natural relationship progression with a realistic and relatable ending.

Holiday Romance lovers will rejoice at all the Molly and Andrew content in this one. They’re such scene thieves, but it made me so happy to read more about how they were doing. I love them so much 🥺

That said, I wish the cover and title covered the entirety of Megan and Christian’s journey, instead of focusing on the few chapters they were stuck in a cabin (or telling us they’re old friends when they just went to school together). It is slightly misleading and can create different expectations as to what the story will turn out to be (i.e. more close proximity).

Other than that, I loved it and highly recommend it for your Christmas TBR!

While this book is about our 2 MCs heading home for Christmas, it focuses more on their relationship and personal struggles/growth opportunities than it does the Christmas holiday. The banter and dry humor we get from our MCs was fun, but the storyline dragged a bit for me. Overall a good, holiday fake dating romance book.

Snowed in is the perfect holiday romance to start the Christmas season. We meet Megan as she is running away from what was supposed to be the most important day of her life. She’s a literal runaway bride. As she is looking for an escape, she spots an old classmate, Christian. While she wasn’t aware that Christian was invited to the wedding, she’s glad he’s the type to not be a snitch as he points her in the right direction to flee. Five years later, Christian and Megan find themselves in a Dublin pub and they’re both dreading the upcoming holidays. This is where they strike a deal to make the holidays bearable.

I was captivated by this story from the very first page. Catherine Walsh does a fantastic job engaging the reader and her writing is so detailed that I felt like I was in the book with the characters. Snowed in is the perfect romantic comedy that will tug at your emotions! It was sweet, funny, and the characters had immediate chemistry! I binged Snowed In because I could not put the book down! If you’re looking for a holiday romance, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Snowed in by Catherine Walsh. You can’t help but finish this book with a smile on your face!

A perfect holiday Romcom.
It was a magical sweet love story.
Slow burn with some really nice spicy moments.
Childhood acquaintances to friends to lovers through fake dating for a holiday home coming.
The witty banter between them is what I love the most. It has every emotion in it. It made me cry, laugh, blush and kick my legs. The author has penned it in such a way.
The extended family along with the main characters were so adorable.
Definitely a good read dropping in today to be added to your holiday tbr.

I loved the first book in this series, and the second book was just as good. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, and I loved the spin of the couple being old high school acquaintances as well. Just like the last book, I also loved that the book took place over Christmas and I adored the Ireland setting, especially the small-town vibes. There was the perfect amount of chemistry that built up over the course of the book, and the steam level was just right (not entirely closed door, but not over the top either). If you are looking for a small-town, fake dating romance with a holiday spin, then put this on your list. Perfect for fans of Holidate (Netflix movie) and To All the Boys I've Loved Before (Netflix movie). Instagram review to be posted soon!

I enjoyed the second half more than the first. I liked the prologue, the whole runaway bride meets the bad boy smoking a cigarette in the alley thing definitely got my attention. And at that point I honestly wanted more from that scene, but instead the author flash forwards 5 years after Megan and Christian meet up in pub away from their hometown. It's at this point that I honestly lost interest for a while. I didn't quite understand the big deal of their families and why they needed to fake a relationship to begin with. I completely get why Megan would be nervous given the whole 'everyone hates me because I broke my finance's heart issue. But a relationship to make her not look like a loser and then Christian thinking he needs to bring someone home to take the 'disappointment' pressure off him? It just didn't seem believable.

I liked that they eventually went from a fake relationship to a real one, but it still felt like they were more friends than romantic companion material. When they were getting intimate, sure, there was chemistry, but outside of that? It just seemed like they were going to be the best of friends. They kept battling their feelings and switching between fake and real relationship and I think that lessened the credibility of their feelings.

The 'snowed in' part of the title also doesn't happen until well towards the end of the book. That's when the real romance part starts. Up until that point, it's all them hiding their feelings from each other and just being awkward when around each other more than I'd have liked.

There are A LOT of side characters and at times I would get Megan confused with Molly and Hannah confused with Sophia (I think that was her name). It was just too much. I remember saying the same thing was an issue in "The Matchmaker" by this author before too. There's just too much focus on those side characters and it honestly takes away from the romance between the H/h.

Side note: I'm not a knitter, but who can knit a whole sweater in a day or two?

Snowed In is a very cozy holiday romance with a gorgeous snowy Ireland setting. Christian and Megan are both really likable main characters which makes the dual POV a fun read. A quick and cute story for every Christmas romance reader!

Megan hasn’t been home since that day she ran from her wedding. Christian is from her hometown too, in fact he saw her escaping that day. She runs into him again five years later after dumping wine over him. They’re both going home this year for Christmas and decide to pretend to be a couple.
This was a fun book and the most Christmasy one I’ve read yet. I liked Megan and Christian together. The log cabin sounded magical, somewhere you would want to stay. Definitely add your her holiday reading list

Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture, and Catherine Walsh for the opportunity to read this e-ARC!

This was such a fun book to read! The trope of faking a relationship has been a fun one for me to read recently. It’s a light read and the perfect read to cozy up to as it starts getting colder.

The story alternates perspectives each chapter. Megan and Christian haven’t seen each other in years. Actually the last time they saw each other was when Megan ran out on the day of her wedding and left her ex-fiancé at the altar.

They’re both dreading going home for Christmas and decide to fake a relationship so their family won’t worry about them. They’ve agreed to help each other navigate the twists and turns of family events and friend dynamics and in the process discover more about each other than they ever knew!

I absolutely love Catherine Walsh, she’s fast become one of my favourite chick lit authors that I actually discovered on Netgalley. This is such a wholesome and cosy fake dating/friends to lovers story between childhood friends Megan and Christian, with lots of laugh out loud moments along the way. There are some references to an abusive relationship, so bear this in mind if this is a potential trigger. A solid 4.5 stars for me!

The events takes place in Ireland. ☘️☘️☘️
That’s all I’m gonna say. 🧡

First of all, the MCs are both smart, established and they COMMUNICATE. It was so refreshing, I loved it!

Megan ran away from her wedding, that’s how the book started. She had very valid reasons which I will not spoil because there is some mystery around it in the book. I wished she had ran away even sooner and not stayed in that relationship for 10 years. They were high school sweethearts in a small town, so. She got caught on the way by an old acquaintance, Christian, and he helped her.

And then, it jumped 5 years forward. She has moved to Dublin, has a job she loves, a hobby -knitting- she enjoys, a very cool roommate, and a lot of flings throughout the years. She was in a good place, really.

Christian has also moved to Dublin, got promoted to be boss, has the coolest best friend (I loved Zoe and her humour!) and he seems he can’t maintain relationships longer than a few weeks.

Of course, they ran into each other in an Irish pub.🍻And things started.
Megan never returned to their hometown in the last 5 years, she lost her friends as they all took side of her ex-fiancee, Isaac, and she never really told anyone, including her family, why she actually ran away. This year, her brother coming home from Melbourne and her mother insisting convinced her to go home for Christmas. Christian has one of the loveliest families in the world, I loved their dynamics, but he doesn’t get on very well with his father, so he has been avoiding home as well, but this year he also decided to go.

So, with some convincing and a trip to Dead Zoo lol, Megan agreed to pretend they were together and be each other’s support system. Christian was really cute, trying to convince her.

Of course, it raised suspicions from both families and friends, they got some side eyes and a few unkind remarks but I loved Christian’s unwavering support here.

I LOVED their banter! Because I love banter but they were both smartly written so it made it even better. When things got tough, they talked. When they realized they had feelings, they talked. When they had problems they talked. Their communication and chemistry were perfect.

"I want to spend next Christmas with you, Megan. And every day in between."

At some point, they got stuck in a cabin in a snowstorm, which helped them understanding their feelings better without presence of families. I thought this would take more place in the story and happen earlier but it was kind of a brief, later part.

I loved Aiden and his support for his sister. He was cute. I loved Andrew and Molly (Christian’s brother and his gf) I actually loved the whole Fitzpatrick clan. And Zoe! I wished she was in more scenes, really. I loathed Isaac and his patronizing, narcissistic attitude also Sophie who was best friends with Megan before wedding and took Isaac’s side without talking to her properly. They resolved their issues eventually but again in a sensible, distant way.

Overall, it was a cheery perfect holiday romance with two amazing MCs and many hilarious side characters. I only wished the epilogue was more about Megan and Christian, but loved to see how their relationship grew among other things. This is my first book by Catherine Walsh but I’m sure it won’t be last, I enjoyed her writing a lot.

I received an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Catherine Walsh for this ARC, it was a perfectly cozy holiday read!
