I absolutely loved this one! It was the perfect book to get me into the holiday season. Great characters. Good conflict. Fake date trope. Great chemistry. Wonderful setting. This book was so fun and heartwarming. This was my first Catherine Walsh book and it for sure won’t be my last. Huge thanks to Netgalley and the book publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.

4.5! Loved!!! Such a cute book that had all the feels that I enjoy: forced proximity, fake relationship. Loved Christian and Megan together. Family was hilarious and made me wish for a family with similar bantar

SO CUTE! I loved this story about 2 old friends that are reunited, fake a relationship and end up falling in love. I loved the dynamic between Christian and Megan and how their relationship evolved. I was thankful they didn't spend a larger part of the book "snowed in" because I think it would have made it feel like it was dragging on, but I didn't think the book felt that way at all.

I loved this! It was delightful to read about the holidays with the Fitzpatrick family again. The pacing was excellent. A perfect cozy Christmas romance!

It’s been along time since Megan has gone home for Christmas, or home at all. After running out on her wedding five years earlier she has not returned to her home village since. But her brother is coming home from Australia this year so she will be spending two weeks back in a place she feels less then welcome in. But after running into a childhood friend who is also less then excited about the holidays at home the two hatch a plan to be each others back up and pretend to be dating.

I am not always a fan of the pretend dating trope, I don’t love how the characters feelings are handled a lot of the time. @catwalshwriter however does it beautifully. Megan and Christian are both really wonderful and strong characters in their own rights and they treat each other so well as a fake dating couple. I love the individual family dynamics that are playing out against the most amazing Irish village backdrop. It was cozy, I definitely cried and I had a lot of fun reading this. Releasing November 1 2024 it’s a perfect Christmas read. And now I absolutely need to read its predecessor Holiday Romance
Thank you to @netgalley and @bookouture for letting me review Snowed In.

This is my first Catherine Walsh novel. I initially chose to read it because of the cover and the description. However, I am utterly glad I did! Her writing style is so easy and fluid that you get lost in the story with the characters.

This one begins with a runaway bride who flees to a new city, new life, new job; a horribly, bad date that turns her life around unexpectedly, meeting up with by chance, and in a splashing way, with an old acquaintance from her hometown. She is going back home for Christmas for the first time since she fled on her wedding day and is very worried about how she will be received by those in her hometown, including her ex-fiance.. He has to go back and spend time with his family who all seem to be happy. Unfortunately, for him, he is the one that always seems to be questioned about his life, his happiness, and his future. So, a plan is devised and off they go together to spend Christmas as "a couple". Through many adventures, hilarious situations, and a blizzard, these two end up right where life is meant for them to be.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it was a very easy read. I do enjoy Catherine Walsh's writing style and plan on trying out a couple other of her books.

We have some girls in our high school who enjoy books like this from authors like Colleen Hoover. This is one I will recommend to those girls when they ask for suggestions.

Five years ago Megan left her long term boyfriend Isaac at the altar on their wedding day and ran away, now she's going back home for the first time since that day to spend Christmas with her mum and her brother Aidan who is travelling from Australia to see his family, and she's dreading it because she knows how the community will react.

Christian is happy on his own but he hates seeing the reaction of his family every Christmas when he's the only single one there, so when Megan bumps into him in a Dublin pub they come up with an idea to get them both through the Christmas period, they will be each others fake dates and pretend to be madly in love, after all they've known each other since school so they can surely pull this off, but nothing ever goes to plan does it?

Snowed In is the latest rom-com by Walsh, told from the perspectives of both Megan and Christian in alternate chapters set in Ireland. I loved everything about this book, the fake boyfriend/girlfriend idea which you just know is going to turn into something else, the dynamics between each of the families and even the reactions of the locals towards Megan added to the mix of this lovely story, throw into that a snowed in scene in a woodland cabin with enough spice to warm the coldest of days and you've got yourself a very enjoyable love story with some great characters and I'm a sucker for a happy ending so was rooting for these two from the start. Another great read from this author that I didn't want to put down and I'm looking forward to more of her stories in the future.

I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

Loved it. Beautifully written story ❤️ love the characters, Megan and her family and Christian and his family. Their easy banter and chemistry is superb. Feel good book with festive vibes full of laughter, love and fun. Haven't read the book about Andrew and Molly but they are so adorable, I will read their book too. A perfect read for a cosy evening.

Catherine Walsh delivers another frothy and festive romantic comedy, a follow-up to Holiday Romance. Set in the countryside near Dublin, this fake dating/forced proximity romance is filled with family drama and all the holiday tropes. Megan, self-exiled runaway bride and daughter of a wealthy and successful single mom, hasn't been home for the holidays since she left her high school sweetheart at the altar. Christian, middle son of a farmer, has been running from family expectations and avoiding relationships ever since his "bad boy" youth. Both need to go home for the holidays, and both are dreading it, so OF COURSE the best solution is to do each other a favor and become a "fake couple" for the holidays. Attraction exists from the beginning, but Megan and Christian keep each other at arm's length until the slow burn between the can no longer be ignored.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and bookouture for the advanced copy of Snowed In; I have been so excited to read the second in the series after enjoying Holiday Romance last year.

Snowed In follows Megan and Christian in a “fake dating” romance, where both are trying to escape their families for different reasons. Megan hasn’t been home in 5 years and doesn’t want to face her mothers annual holiday party alone; Christian doesn’t want to show up to Christmas dinner as the only member of his family that’s single. I mean, what could go wrong? Megan and Christian both grew up together, are from the same town, their families know each other… I am sure it will all be smooth sailing.

Surprise, it was not! This book had some laugh out loud moments for sure, with witty banter and funny circumstances. If you’re looking for a holiday romcom with a happily ever after that will make you swoon, then look no further.

This romance was adorable!! It definitely had some serious undertones throughout the story which made it more dynamic than a fluffy rom com.

what to expect:
- fake dating
- old friends to lovers

I don't think I've had this much fun reading a book in a long time and this was exactly what I needed!😆

Megan hasn't gone back to her hometown in five years after running out on her fiance(who was the town's favorite) on their wedding day. So, when she bumps into her school friend Christian at a Dublin bar, he comes up with the perfect plan to get through the holidays - they return together to their hometown while pretending to date each other! Megan will have the buffer that she needs when she meets old friends and attends her mom's yearly fundraiser, and Christian will have a respite from the sympathetic eyes of his 'coupled-up' family members. With such an excellent plan, nothing could go wrong right?😆😂

This was so much fun and it's probably my fave holiday romance from this year. It was sweet, funny and touching, while not being too trope-y either. The relationship development between Megan and Christian felt very natural and effortless - from acquaintances to friends to fake dates and something more, while maintaining the attraction between them. Both of them were excellent characters individually and I loved watching them reconnect with their families while falling for each other. And another thing that surprised me pleasantly was the steam 😆(can't judge a book's steaminess with the illustrated covers these days😂). I loved watching Megan grow and confront her controlling ex - who was pretty good at hiding everything under a good guy persona. And Christian always had her back! Also, bonus points for the lack of third act drama!❣️✨

Anyway, I think you should definitely read this one if you're looking for a fun holiday romance that has the right amount of everything! It comes out on November 1st!❣️✨

I'm going to read holiday romance next.

Catherine Walsh might be one of my new favorite authors! Her writing style and humor are exactly my cup of tea. And this was one of the cutest, coziest, funniest Christmas books I’ve ever read!

Although Megan may have resisted their fake relationship at first, she and Christian made such a great pair. Their connection was so easy and genuine. I loved the efforts they made for one another and how supportive they were of each other. Their relationship was sweet… and became steamy as well!

If you like:
funny dialogue
faking dating
NO THIRD ACT BREAK-UP
forced proximity
friends to lovers
sweet and thoughtful gestures

… then you’ll love this book!

I did hope for just a little more out of the ending, though, especially with the epilogue, which focuses more on other characters than it did Megan and Christian. But, if you’ve read the first book in the series, you may really enjoy the epilogue.

I also struggled a little at times with keeping the side characters straight. Again, if you’ve read the first book (or if you’re good with names), that may not be a problem for you. But there were a lot of characters in this book, and sometimes that took me out of the story because I either mixed a character up with another one, or I couldn’t exactly remember who they were.

Even still, I loved reading this story and watching Megan and Christian’s relationship grow and develop. It would make the perfect winter read, especially if you’re “Snowed In” ;)

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy of Snowed In (out 11/01/23.) All opinions are my own.

If you're in need of a read that will whisk you away to a winter wonderland, you're in for a treat! This book is as comforting as a snug, old sweater, effortlessly transporting you to the holiday spirit. It's like sipping cinnamon-spiced cider by a twinkling tree, with a pinch of sharp humor and a whole lot of Christmas enchantment.

The story oozes holiday charm and wintry magic, enveloping you in a soft, fuzzy embrace of festive joy. From the very first page, I was completely engrossed, and that magical spell held me captive until the very end. It's the literary equivalent of a beautifully wrapped gift, concealing layers of enjoyment and depth waiting to be unveiled.

It all kicks off with a bang when our runaway bride, making her escape from her own wedding, quite literally crashes into Christian, a blast from her grade school past. The sheer awkwardness of the situation sets the scene for some hilarious encounters. As the tale unfolds, it's a roller coaster ride of emotions, from astonishment and amazement to heartwarming moments. It's all the more amusing when, five years later, fate conspires to bring them back together. Our protagonist, trying to drown her sorrows in spilled wine at a bar, finds herself face-to-face with the very person she'd once tried to evade.

The story takes a delightful twist as these two, bound by a festive faux pas, decide to join forces as each other's merrymaking make-believe partners. From Dublin to a charming small-town Christmas, their journey is filled with holiday hilarity and delightful deceit. Megan and Christian make for a couple that's so easy to adore, their chemistry igniting like a firework in the snowy night.

This book is your ticket to an enchanting world of merrymaking, sprinkled with the right dose of Christmas enchantment. So, if you're ready to embrace the holiday season with open arms and a whole lot of laughter, this book is your perfect companion. Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. It's a festive, funny, and heartwarming holiday treat!

Catherine Walsh does it again with an adorable, cozy romance perfect for the upcoming Christmas season. Charming characters and banter, a beautiful setting and detailed storyline makes this totally engrossing. I love a romance that goes more in depth with the characters and their stories and this totally fit the bill. I couldn't put it down and read it in less than 48 hours.

I LOVED this book! LOVED! This is the PERFECT holiday book. The banter, the chemistry, everything about this is absolutely perfect. Yes please!! 5 🌟

Megan hasn't been back home in 5 years- since she ran out on her wedding and moved to Dublin. She has been seen as the town pariah since and has no reason to show her face again until her mom insists she comes for Christmas since her brother Aiden will also be in town. Cue Christian- hometown bad boy who witnessed her running out on her wedding and happens to run into her in Dublin right before her trip home. They decide to take the pressure off both of them that they will accompany each other home as a "couple."

What I liked: Megan, Christian, Christmas setting and the banter- OH and the spice :)
What I disliked: the almost cheesy Hallmarky way that all the characters in her home town were snarky and holding onto grudges five years later and that her former fiance kept insisting they talk. And also the reasoning that she left him in the first place, as it seemed kinda anti-climatic and not sure why she even got dressed for the wedding anyway if was that resolute, ha!
All in all, cute holiday read and thankful I got to read it early!! Thanks Netgalley!

Megan has been hiding from her hometown for four years. She was a runaway bride, leaving the village golden boy at the alter unexpectedly. Now that she has to return to visit her family for the holidays, she is dreading the whispers and the questions. Luckily, she runs into Christian, an acquaintance from her hometown. The two of them cook up a fake dating scheme that will allow them to lean on each other for those tough moments at home. Only the fake dating starts to feel too good and they begin to fall for one another as they navigate their family and hometown drama.

I enjoyed this book from the start! This is the second book I've read by Catherine Walsh and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. There is such a delightful quality to her books and they have a true rom com quality to them.

Megan and Christian have great chemistry and it makes their fake dating ploy more believable. I was interested to see how Megan's past would affect them falling for one another. For a good portion of the first half of the book, the mystery surrounding Megan's runaway bride situation was in a cloud of mystery. When it was finally revealed, I felt sad that Megan had to isolate herself because of a decision that she made in the name of what was best for her. Christian was an sweet hero, taking care of Megan when she needed it most.

This book is as much about the relationships between the main characters and the supporting characters. All of the family and townspeople in the book played an important role of why Megan and Christian were so guarded towards others. I am glad that they went on a journey of healing and resolving their conflicts so they could be in a place to accept love.

Pick up this book for a fun, adorable, and sometimes steamy holiday romance!

Steam level: 🔥🔥🔥
⚠️: toxic romantic relationship
