Who else adored Catherine Walsh's last release, Holiday Romance? It was one of my favorite romances of 2022.

Snowed In is just as sweet and hilarious as its predecessor. It's a loose sequel, following the brother of Holiday Romance's male lead. It's charming and funny and festive, but not overly saturated with Christmas cheer.

You can definitely pick it up without having read Holiday Romance, but I recommend adding both to your Christmas TBR!

I’m typically not a fan of fake dating trope but this book did it right. I didn’t feel like as the reader it was clear as day to me that they were developing feelings and yet both parties seemed to be oblivious to it. It was a slow burn romance with so many swoon worthy moments.

It’s marketed as a stand alone but it features another couple. My Spidey sense kept tingling the entire time and lo and behold, the other couple had their own book, which was also a holiday romance, that I read last year and gave 5 stars to. Lol. So yes, Ms. Walsh knocked two holiday romances out of the ballpark. I can’t wait to see what she has in store next year!

What a lovely Christmas treat! I hope you love this book as much as I did. Megan and Christian are adorable and charming. I loved the way they interacted. I can’t wait to find myself in Dublin and remembering these characters! Highly highly recommend. And I’m gonna say it….is Catherine Walsh my new Emily Henry? Yes. Yes she is.

Cute, holiday romance. Megan and Christian decide to be fake boyfriend girlfriend and go home for the holidays. This was a fun read to kick off the holiday season.

I've read all of Catherine Walsh's books other than The Matchmaker, and I really enjoyed all of them, so I had an inkling that I'd love this one too. In general, Christmas romances are something I really love, and this was no exception.

Megan hasn't been home for Christmas since she became a runaway bride - but this year, her brother is coming home all the way from Australia, so Megan has to go home. Christian grew up in the same town, and when he goes home for Christmas, he hates being the only single one, surrounded by his siblings in loving relationships.

When Megan and Christian meet by chance in a pub, Christian proposes they go home under the guise of a fake relationship, to support each other through the holiday season. Eventually, he convinces Megan to go along with it under some strict conditions which they eventually break.

I found Megan and Christian's chemistry really believable and Megan's initial reluctance to lean too heavily on Christian was quite believable.

I'm an absolute sucker for forced proximity, and I love how mature their conversations were, and how natural it felt when their relationship progressed. I really enjoyed how respectful and careful they were with each other's feelings and families, and how they went along at the pace that was comfortable for the other person.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with this ARC for review. The book comes out on 1 November, and you should absolutely pick it up this Christmas!

Megan is dreading going home for Christmas for the first time since she skipped out at her wedding. Christian is worried about going home alone for Christmas and doesn’t want his family to pressure him about his failed relationships. So our lovely couple agrees to fake date whilst they’re in their hometown for the holidays and end up falling love.

That’s the premise of this wholesome, warm and sweet romcom. It had drama, it had romance, it had sibling bonding, and healing old wounds, getting closure, and falling in love. By the time you reach the ending snowed in leaves satisfied and content.

As much as I enjoyed this one I gotta admit Holiday Romance is still my favorite of Catherine’s. And I loved that we got the see Molly and Andrew’s relationship develop, they have a special place in my heart.

A lovely read for the holidays, I recommend. ❤️‍🩹

I LOVED this book! i consider myself to be a relatively slow reader, but i demolished this book in a day - i couldn’t put it down!

First of all, i adored the plot of this book. The combination of fake dating, Christmas, and small town romance tropes made this book such a cozy read that left me feeling all warm and fuzzy. The tension between Megan and Christian had me completely hooked and desperate to read more, and their relationship was perfectly paced - not too slow and not too fast. This book was set in Ireland, which i thought was absolutely perfect for the small town, festive vibes of this story, and i already can’t wait to re-read it over Christmas!

Secondly, the characters within the book were all fleshed out so well. Each character had such a unique personality and their own little back story, which made this book feel extra captivating. I especially loved Christian’s character, he was so refreshing and had me giggling and kicking my feet all throughout this book! Not only was his character chivalrous and consistently respectful of Megan’s wants and decisions, he was SERIOUSLY funny and had me laughing so much!! If you love sarcasm and whitty characters, you will absolutely love Christian.

Lastly, this book was just written SO well. The dual POV was perfect and each POV switch was timed perfectly. The spice was chef’s kiss; not too much that it dominated the story, nor too little - each spicy scene felt progressive to the story line. If i had to change anything about this book, i’d make the ending just a little longer, i’d like to see how it all played out after returning to dublin, but the epilogue was a cute little insight into Christian and Megan’s future together <33 highly recommend this book if you’re after a cozy, tension filled Christmas romance!

This has been my first holiday read of the season and it DELIVERED! It had all the things I look for in a holiday romance. Home for the holidays (albeit reluctantly). fake dating (my absolute favorite) and a healthy dose of snow to cause trouble.

Megan goes back to her hometown for the first time since running away from her own wedding. Christian is sick and tired of being the only one who's still single amongst all the couples in his family. They haven't seen each other in five years and after running into each other at a pub in Dublin, Christian comes up with the perfect plan for both their problems. A fake relationship. What could possibly go wrong?

I liked Megan for multiple reasons, but the main reason is that she's grown ballsy over the five years she's been away from home. She's funny, witty and quirky and it's the best combination ever. I perceived Christian as steady, calm, and slightly sarcastic, and I was here for it. The chemistry and banter between these two was of the charts, and I liked how everything that developed between them felt natural and organic.

I think snowed in is one of the best holiday romances I've read so far and it'll blow up!

This book was such a great read. I loved the fake dating premise and thought that the author did a great job of weaving this story together. I was rooting for the couple!

When Megan and Christian bump into each other in a Dublin pub one evening, they recognise each other from their school days and that fateful day when she ran away instead of making her way down the aisle. They are both single but instead of a hook up, they end up making a fake dating pact. He’s tired of being the only single on at the Christmas table, she hasn’t been home in the five years since l she didn’t get married. Can they help each other and keep it fake?

If you read Catherine Walsh’s awesome Holiday Romance, Christian is the brother of the male main character Andrew. He’s successful but not really happy. Megan keeps back from admitting how controlling her fiancé was. I adore Catherine Walsh’s mix of first person view, from both Megan and Christian’s POV, and the witty and honest thoughts that just keep coming. It’s not hard to picture this as a quirky Irish film complete with dashing hero and knitting 🧶 heroine. It’s another winner from one of my all time favourite Irish writers ❤️

5 STARS! I loved this book! I loved everything about it. I loved the epilogue. I don't want to give away any spoilers just read it. The is one of the best rom-com style books I have read this year. I Can't wait to read Andrew and Molly's story.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.

This is a cute summer fake romance turned on its head. Runaway Bride runs into hometown boy and he suggests a fake Christmas romance. I found this to be a light and fun read. Sometime we just need a little holiday romance to brighten our days.

It’s official, Catherine Walsh writes top tier Christmas romance. This is sweet, festive, steamy, swoony…it’s simply great. We have a fake dating setup, which I think it set up really well. Both Christian and Megan feel a spark towards one another at the initial meet cute, but don’t acknowledge it so as the reader, you know it’s been simmering since the beginning. There’s plot, family shenanigans, small town drama, plenty of festive Christmas fun…it’s all great. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

Snowed in is 2 for 2 when it comes to Catherine Walsh's books. Because it is the first sequel (kind of a sequel to Holiday Romance, all her other books are standalones) and the first book with dual POV and she nailed both of those aspects. It is no secret that I adore her writing and her humor and this one has it all and more. This book also deals with some heavy issues mainly the toxic manipulative relationship our FMC had with her ex but the warning is there so if this is something triggering for you, just be aware. I am personally really satisfied how it was portrayed and handled.

Onto our beautiful MCs (and they are both gorgeous okay!!!) Christian is the love of my life! Sorry to Andrew I still love you boo but Christian stole my heart 🤩 Maybe because we got his pov and being in his head was so much fun and I loved every second. Megan is funny and kind and has that spark that all the author's heroines have but maybe she is a fave too now?? I couldn't stop reading the book and I was so amused and intrigued by both of them. I feel like the realization of their feelings for one another was so natural and I loved that it was a slow burn because they needed to be both on the same page for anything to happen which meant clear and open communication which I struggle to find in romance books and I am delighted when I do! I loved Megan's family and would totally into Aidan having his own book and I was so happy to be with the Fitzpatricks again as they are the main family in both books. I am also pleased by the amount of Molly and Andrew we got which was only natural since they are close to Christian. And omgthe best friendship I would LOVE to see more of - Christian and Zoe!! Those two had me screaming in the very beginning. Besties! I also loved the Irish setting, the Christmas spirit and vibe throughout the book. A perfect one to snuggle with while drinking hot chocolate.

I loved this. It was so much fun, Christian and Megan are individually great characters, and together they have the sweetest romance!

I enjoyed how subversive this was, even when classic tropes came into play they panned out in unexpected ways! There was such an appreciation for reality as well. This book totally strikes the right note, it is a perfect example of what contemporary romance should be, self-aware enough not to be cliche, but reliably light and enjoyable at the same time!

Hugely recommend.

This was such a cute holiday romance! I always love the fake dating trope but seeing how thoughtful and kind Christian was to Megan throughout the whole book was just perfect! 🥰

his was the cutest and easiest Christmas read ever. I loved the whole story and the relationship between Christian and Megan was swoon worthy from the start. I loved reading this story and seeing their relationship develop page by page! I definitely recommend for a quick Christmas read!

I really was surprised to love Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh as much as I did, one of my first Christmas novels and romances (thanks Lit with Leigh, formerly GWTPSM!). I went into Snowed In with extremely high expectations and I was not disappointed in the slightest.

In summary, Megan ran out on her high school sweetheart and the dearly loved Isaac on their wedding day. After years living away from her hometown and not returning since the wedding, she runs into Christian who comes up with the genius plan to return home together for the Christmas break... fake dating.

And this fake dating trope was done well! I loved the situations Megan and Christian found themselves stuck in, their banter, their chemistry and Christian's fierce loyalty.

I didn't appreciate when I started Snowed In that this is an interconnected series and I just loved it so much more when that clicked! I'm even tempted to re-read to see more about Andrew and Molly with it in mind. I also loved getting to hear more of their story together.
I highly recommend this Christmas season romance, or maybe it's a rom-com because I giggled a bit.

Anticipated publication date: 1 November 2023.
