When is a corpse not a corpse?

When experienced pathologist Keats calls Kim Stone out slightly prematurely. But her certainly looked dead, with no sign of life.

The dead man seems ordinary, until the team dig into his past.

Does this hold the key to his death?

Meanwhile, Stacey is not her usual efficient self. What is wrong with her?

Another brilliant addition to this excellent series

Book 19 in the wonderful Kim Stone series and it is just as action packed as the very first. Kim and Bryant are called to a murder scene that isn't yet a murder, a victim rendered paralysed and when another similar scene emerges Kim realises they've got a strange case on their hands.
As the case progresses it becomes more personal to Kim as it causes her to question her own morals and beliefs.
I've loved these books from the very beginning, I love all the characters and how they work together, and despite the tough cases there is still some humour too. Long may they continue
I received this advanced copy from Netgalley and Bookouture with no obligation to review. Thank you

Oh boy! Angie Marsons knocks another Kim Stone story out of the park! I just love following these detectives through all of the trials and tribulations of a new case. This is such a well told story that is delivered in expert style. So many great twists and turns, and stunning reveals! Highly recommend this one.
Thank you NetGalley, Angela Marsons and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this cracker of a book.

Once again I read this in record time and I am lost for words to describe how engrossing this book is! 19 books and Angie hasn't lost her touch at all. This is the only series that I can honestly say I've stuck with. There is never a dull moment when we catch up with Kim Stone and her team. A fresh new plot along with new places that we are taken to. I had to smile when Asda at Great Bridge was mentioned because I do my shopping there. Then there is a character from Kingswinford where I live. I totally love that Kim Stone is set in my neck of the woods. I love everything about this series. Bad Blood is another cracking read that I highly recommend!

Kim and her ace team are called in to the murder of a man who has been posed. The pose has them baffled, and the cause of death as well, because the man was pronounced dead, and made a slight movement, and died later. What could have killed him? A toxin of some sort.
The team does not have much time to get any answers, as there is another murder, posed, but in a different way.
There is a vigilante taking revenge for past sins, it seems. Is he hiding in plain sight?
The connections between the victims have to be established.

Stacey is struggling with her secret, and feels she has nowhere to turn, until she confesses to Devon.

I couldn't wait to get my hot, greedy little hands on this book! I immediately clicked the request button when I saw it, as Angela Marsons is one of my very favourite authors, and Kim is one of my very favourite female detectives!!
I loved the whole book, with twists and turns, and all the teams problems, Kim's doggedness for justice, and her loyalty and love for the people she works with. She definitely has a soft heart under that outer shell she has built around her.

There is nothing straightforward in the investigation, where would the fun be in that? Keeping me guessing all the way through the book, and drawing my own conclusions, which were all wrong!!

I raced through the book, and am so sad that I didn't just take it slow and relish every page. I didn't want to get to the end, but needed to know who the murderer was, and the motive.

I cannot wait for the next Kim Stone book, and I hope there will be many others to come! It is a fantastic series.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

As soon as I know a new Kim Stone book is coming out I eagerly await its arrival. I have sat for the last few hours engrossed in the story until finishing. I say this every time, but each book in the series just gets better and better.

Following the events of the last book this one finds Stacey still struggling with the after effects. No one knows how bad it is until events take a strange turn. Add into this the fact that Kim and her team are dealing with a new case with many twists along the way, I can assure you this story will have you gripped.

I love how Kim finds ways of getting those around her to give their all to a case when they honestly don’t want to. She has ways of making sure everyone is exactly where they need to be to provide the help that’s needed at that time.

I can’t stress how much I love this series, long may it last.

Huge thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.
