Book review 📚
Myth keeper by Jasmine Richards - 4/5 ⭐
I made a bit of a boo boo with this one, not realising it was a sequel - now I will not read a book without reading the first or second first. So, obviously I had to go and read the first book before continuing with this one.
Now, the crossover of normal world to magical world was fantastic. I read this book with my 10 year old and we had a brilliant time reading together. He thoroughly enjoyed the story and was able to get through it quicker then I usually could.
Sam and Buzz are brilliant characters for the story, my son's favourite was Sam but I favoured Buzz. So the characters work for different people. It was very enjoyable for us both and we would definitely read again.
Thank you to NetGalley and UCLan Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.
A really enjoyable sequel to the unmorrow curse. Fast-paced throughout, so I was never bored, the story is excellent and compelling with some interesting insight into ancient gods (even neanderthal ones, which I found particularly cool!).
The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that I never really connected much with the main characters themselves. They were ok, but nothing particularly distinct or interesting about them. I preferred the characters of the gods for their interesting natures than Buzz and Mari.
But overall this is a fantastic book and I really recommend it, but best to read the Unmorrow Curse first.
