While this is an ok book, learning to ride needs to be done in person, with a horse and proper instructor. This may be an ok work book to go with a class but without examining the class given this book is not helpful.
Young riders will find a terrific resource in this book. It is filled with photos, quizzes and many facts about riding. Start with safety and move on to everything a beginner needs to know from mounting to dismounting, holding reins, walking in circles, making figure eights, turning, cantering and more. Also learn how to care for a horse and its gear, for example, knowing how to put on a saddle.
This title is part of a series. Young riders will want them all on their bookshelves.
Many thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this title. All opinions are my own.
