This is a gripping physiological thriller which is told from the pov of strong female characters. It centres on the unsolved murder of Geneva

I love yhe narrator and the novel idea of a youtube video detective looking to solve the crime by lookkng at thise close. The husband who was tried by public opinion and has been tormented for years but never arrested and her 3 friends. Whi saw her on her last night and each has a secret shecwas threatening to reveal
The narrator deals with some tough issuses including eating disorders . The cgaracterscare multilayered. The first half of the act sets the history and the pacing is a little off and its the chapters from the youtube thst build thd tention. You do feel rhe tentiom in act 2 portrayed by the emotion of the narrator . Its then full of actions twists and turns. The end act hiwever with the final reveal left ne a little flat as i felt it just set the dcene for a sequel.
This was hiwever a good quiick listen with a modern take on a who done in. Throughtly enjoyable lost it self a litle and the ending fidnt resolve my questions. Sequel needed.
That you netgallery and publisher and author and narrator for a solid 4 star listen.

Really good premise for this, loved how it was told from multiple points of view. All the characters seemed to be hiding something so you just didn’t know who you could trust.
This was an audio listen for me and I really enjoyed it and thought the narrator did a fab job.
The ending wasn’t great for me but still decent. Will definitely look out for more books by this author in the future.

This drew me in quickly, flawed characters, fast paced, secrets and lies and I was enjoying it up to about the half way point .
At the stage it kind of ran out of steam, there were few places the story could go and I felt it all went outlandishly yet predictable.
A good premise and well drawn characters but deserved a stronger element of suspense.

3 star.

Fantastic! A compelling and intricate plot based around the murder of soap opera actress Geneva and exploring her marriage to Elliott and her friendship with neighbouring rich girls, Frankie, Zara and Nadine.

The story is told from the POV of Geneva's three friends, with transcripts from wannabe true crime YouTuber, Juniper Rose, who, like me, lives 15 minutes from the murder scene of Sandbanks; on our doorstep, and yet a world away, with it's famous "Millionaire's Row".

As Juniper presents the facts of this case, five years after the crime and now a cold case, the list of suspects grows and the twists start to drop. Becca Day's excellent writing leaves us with a compelling cliff-hanger at the end of every chapter, as we discover the threats, secrets and power play that held the four women's "friendship" together.

A blinder of a thriller that keeps the twists coming, right up to the very last paragraph.

5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Becca Day and Bonnier for an ARC in return for an honest review.

3.5 stars.

Not my first Becca Day, not my last.

One of those books you whizz through enjoying it for the drama and not thinking about how believable any of the scenarios might be.
Full of unlikeable characters, that I was pleased to see crumble as their lives fall apart.
A nice few twists.

Fully entertaining.

This is a quick, fast paced listen that keeps the momentum throughout. Told from the point of view of each of the four women. I really liked the podcast format throughout and it does add a little something extra. The characters are both likeable and unlikeable in their own ways. It was an enjoyable listen that was engaging and kept my interest. Was a little underwhelmed by how it all came together but overall it’s worth a listen.
