My partner is an avid Liverpool fan so I felt I had to give this book a go. Very informative and a great addition to the series.
This is a wonderful children's book from the Little People, Big Dreams series, which is an amazing, educational series of books, focusing on inspirational people in the world.
This book focuses on Jürgen Klopp, a football manager and inspirational leader. He grew up in a village in Germany’s Black Forest and most of his time was spent watching or playing football. When he was an adult, he studied sports science at university and then he played football professionally for ten years before becoming a football club manager. He is an inspiration to those in the football world.
I found this book interesting, and I loved looking at the beautiful illustrations in the book, as well as the informative text sections and photographs at the end of the book.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

The minute I see this series, I have to read it, even if I am not too familiar with the person - but isn't that the purpose of the series? I should think so as it is supposed to be a quickie biography to introduce individuals who have impacted the world in their capacity.
Interesting (obviously) introduction to one of the best coaches in football for sure. I am quite awestruck after reading his journey.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

We aren’t big soccer/football fans but we do love this series & the opportunity to learn more about fascinating individuals. This book did not disappoint. Jüergen Klopp sounds like an amazing, inspiring guy.
As always, the illustrations were wonderful.
‘Jürgen Klopp’ by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara with illustrations by Beatriz Castro is a biography for young readers in the Little People, Big Dreams series of a famous soccer manager.
Young Jürgen grew up in Germany and was so fascinated with soccer that he could make play suggestions while listening to games that were then performed in real life. He was a professional player for ten years but realized his true talents lie in coaching. He rose in the ranks and led many amazing teams to victory.
This was an inspiring story of having a dream and learning that it can be different than what you think it will be. The art is cheery and bright and made me smile.
I never imagined a football manager made his way to this series. But here we have Mr Klopp, and it was fun to read his story. Always admire these managers who do their magic to bring 11++ men to victory, some with language barriers, but they made it. Amazing! And Mr. Klopp, nice to know you more, and thank you for inspiring us to grow stronger.
I really love this series! They're all so informative while still being fun and entertaining for the little kids. As a semi-Liverpool supporter (my dad supports them) I've witnessed Jürgen being a great manager, but as not the biggest football fan in general I never knew much about him or what he's done/how he got there. It was great to read a bit about his backstory and how he discovered his calling as a manager/coach. And as always I love the timeline photos and extra information at the back for those older readers.
Jürgen Klopp by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara was another brilliant book. Little Jürgen grew up in a village in Germany’s Black Forest and spent most of his time watching or playing soccer. As a small child, Jürgen listened to matches on the car radio, making tactical suggestions only to hear them implemented moments later!
As an adult, he spent ten years as a professional soccer player, before deciding his future lay off the pitch. Jürgen successfully managed German teams Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund to multiple victories, and then became the manager of Liverpool Football Club in England. Within just five years he had made them champions of England, Europe and the world. Jürgen is widely considered soccer’s best manager and is admired for his leadership style, which champions hard work, compassion and, above all, team spirit!
WoW! Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara books must be one of the best little books to purchase for children, these are the best-selling series of books and educational games that explore the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. All of them achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream.
I know this is a British/European series, but I had never heard of Klopp before reading this book. This book made me want to learn more. I enjoyed the illustrations as well as the extended biography in the back.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own opinions.
When reading this book, I kept thinking he was a real-life Ted Lasso! Jurgen Klopp seems like the type of coach you would want around any sports team. I did not know we existed until 30 mins ago, but I did cider to look him up on YouTube, and I'm glad I know how this man is. My niblets will know about him over breakfast tomorrow for sure.
Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp, are firm favourites in our house, so I was thrilled to find this lovely book.
Jurgen is such an inspiring man, and it’s lovely to see this being shown to children. The book has so many positive themes, to discuss with little ones, and the illustrations were very engaging.
This is a fantastic addition to a wonderful series.
This is such a great series of books, both for children and families as well as educators. As each book is short and factual with brilliant illustrations they are fabulous at giving out just the right amount of information about remarkable people tan their achievements.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.
I continue to enjoy the biographies in this series. I had not heard of Jurgen Klopp before and his story was interesting. He is a good role model and leader.
I am a huge LFC fan and a massive fan of Jurgen Klopp, so whilst this is a book written for kids, I still derived much pleasure from reading it. Lovely book. Would definitely recommend.
Little People, Big Dreams hits another book out of the park. Not being a futbol fan, I have never heard of Jurgen Klopp, but this book is the perfect biography to learn about him. The pictures match the story wonderfully. This book is great for all ages.
My sons are Liverpool fans so how could I not choose to read this with them!
Their excitement at picking up this familiar series with a familiar name themed was the perfect enticement to sit down and read. The book opened up further topics of conversation and interest in who else may be featured
As always the illustrations are great, although I’m not sure the front image is recognisable to Juergen Klopp for me
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Often I know the little person who is portrayed in these titles but I was not familiar with Jurgen Klopp. I was pleased to learn more about this football loving German boy who grew up to be a fantastic coach and manager in his sport. He also sounded like a positive and encouraging person. His story is nicely told and illustrated here.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.
I received a digital ARC via Netgalley. I will be purchasing this for my library's collection. This series is very popular with my patrons.
This children’s book about Jürgen Klopp was very entertaining even for me (most definitely not a child). As a passive Liverpool fan (my cousin supports the Reds so I guess I do too kinda), this book was a good intro to the life of Coach Klopp. The illustrations were super cute and I loved the inclusion of kid Klopp with glasses! At the end, there’s a short fact timeline about Klopp’s career so far and it was cool to see the actual images compared to the illustrations of his most important accomplishments. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone (child or not) who wants to learn more about Jürgen Klopp.
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this was such a cute biography of Jurgen Klopp. I don't know much about European Football and their coaches, but this made it easy to follow and kids can learn about how he got into the sport.
