My kiddo loves snakes and animals in general. So I knew reading this one would be a big hit! He absolutely loved it! Now he is calling his toy snakes Fred lol.

A cute adventure book that helps young ones learn about the states. Fun rhymes and filled with quirky dialogue. A great addition to any young readers library. Thanks#Netgalley and #BooksGoSocial for the eARC in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are mine.

This was a cute Children’s book detailing parts of the United States. Its catchy rhymes entertained both my three year old and seven year old. Some of the facts sparked questions and further conversation with my older child. The illustrations were attractive and my kids liked those too. I can’t speak to how it measures against the rest in the series because I haven’t read the other books.

When Fred The Snake and Friends Explore USA - West by Peter Cotton

This is book 9 in the Fred the Snake series and it is an adorable book to read when teaching/learning the states. The storytelling is entertaining and educational, fun and easy to follow for the children. The author's writing style being rhyming words and phrases is always a big hit with my kids, they like to read along with me and point out words that rhyme. The illustrations are simple but have so many details to them. Great work.

This is less a bed time story, and more a learning device or reference book, made fun with rhyme and quirky illustrations.

This is a large book, so not for one sitting, but definitely can imagine my younger self delving in at random to learn about the different states.

Very informative but fun at the same time - I could see my kids getting repeated use from this book, as well as loving the characters. I think this would be perfect for home schooling, or in a school library, or just a good book to have in a home library.

This is a cute adventure about Fred the snake and his friends, and the remarkably large amount of ground they cover in their explorations in this book.

From California to Hawaii to Oregon and Washington State, bosom buddies have a glorious time admiring everything from architecture to National Parks.

They encounter a movie star (in a delightful nod to Marilyn Monroe), help an injured eagle, get locked in at Alcatraz, and break rules at the Golden Gate Bridge!

This fun story and the accompanying quirky illustrations will appeal to children in the target age group - and it'll teach them something as well.

This book is a fun way to explore some well known sites in the Western US! It includes maps and whimsical illustrations and rhyming text that draw children in! The rhyming poetic text could present a challenge for readers and listeners who haven’t yet aquired strong vocabulary and comprehension skills.
